Erskine Hall provides nursing, residential and dementia care. Inside the impressive, purpose-built home, they offer a warm welcome to long and short stays, including care for those living with Parkinson’s or Huntington’s care. Respite bookings can be made in advance if planning a holiday or break.

Based in a quiet suburb of Northwood, on the outskirts of Watford. There are plenty of peaceful spots and social spaces to spend time in. Residents have a choice of five lounges, where they can grab a book and cosy up in one of the armchairs or catch up with loved ones over coffee and cake. There’s an inviting terrace on the first floor, large patio area and lots of garden space that residents are free to explore, too. The home also benefits from a cinema room, hairdressing room with nail bar too.

There's a great atmosphere and the staff encourage residents to get involved as much as they’d like. To help residents feel at home, they take the time to get to know them. The home can then tailor activities to their interests and hobbies too. From activities such as community quizzes, crafts and flower arranging to tea dances and fetes, there is so much for residents to enjoy.

The chefs prepare a range of wholesome meals for residents to enjoy in the social dining area or in the comfort of their own room. They also talk to each resident about their likes, dislikes and any special dietary needs when they move in. That way, their food is cooked just right.

We recently celebrated my aunt's 100th birthday and had a small celebration at the care home. The Activities Coordinator who coordinates the activities and social aspects went above and beyond to make it a memorable and special occasion for the whole family. Erskine Hall is an excellent care home which offers wonderful service, in this case my father. They are given 3 meals a day plus tea, coffees, snacks and various other refreshments throughout the day. The rooms are warm and cosy with good lighting and bathroom facilities. Care is given 24 hours a day
and the service by staff is exceptional. Always on hand whenever you need them. There is always a choice for meals throttle day which certainly keeps the residents healthy. There is always a choice of activities to attend which my father particularly enjoys with the music. Would recommend this care home to anyone who definitely wants great care for their relationship in times of need.

My father went into Erskine Hall 2.5 weeks before he died. In that short time he got to know his carers, they made the end of his life comfortable and serene. The nurses were good at communicating with his family, looked after dad's medical needs very well and treated us all with respect and compassion.

As a family, we are very grateful to Erskine Hall Care Home. We were greatly comforted by knowing she was being cared for 24/7 as she was in a lot of pain and very precious to us. We could not have looked after her ourselves. We enjoyed visiting her at the home which I now understand is extremely important.

Dad was sent to Erskine Care Home from hospital on initially a temporary basis until we found him a long-term home. We have since decided for him to stay at Erskine as a long-term resident as the care received there is second to none. In particular, there are 3 members of staff that are absolutely lovely
and a credit to the home. The manager and several other members of staff were all so welcoming and cheerful and gave me the comfort that Dad is being looked after. Their warm and welcoming personas made the choice very easy and I would highly recommend this home to anyone.

The bedrooms were light and well-appointed, especially the shower rooms. The atmosphere in the home was friendly and relaxed but always professional. The food was nutritious and plentiful with sufficient variety. The staff were caring and attentive.
The activities were wide-ranging from musical acts
to quizzes and everyone regardless of ability was included creating a pleasant event.

My sister has recently stayed at Erskine Hall for respite following surgery. From pre-admission to discharge, she, and us as a very concerned family, were treated with the utmost respect and kindness. Communication with my sister and with us was timely and informative helping to reduce anxiety at a
very worrying time. All of the staff appeared to focus on her as an individual, recognising and managing her complex needs. The staff all demonstrated a team approach and were calm and resident-focused. All the facilities were clean and well-maintained which meant a comfortable stay.

My mother moved into Erskine Hall as she is no longer able to live independently.
With the help and care of the staff, she adjusted well to her new environment.
My mother has told me she feels safe and all her needs are met.
The staff keep us up to date with any changes to her health, and we
are confident she is well cared for.
The environment at Erskine Hall is calming and restful. My mother’s room is always clean and smells lovely. Her food looks appetising and the staff caring for her are kind and attentive.
My father visits my mother daily and the staff are kind and caring towards him too, and always make him a cup of tea!

My mother was a resident at Erskine Hall for 18 months until her recent passing.
The home felt like just the right place for her on our initial visit and I had no hesitation in placing her here. On my regular visits, the staff were always very helpful and caring and did not seem overstretched. As my
mum's condition deteriorated, they paid close attention to her medical needs and kept me informed. The food always appeared tasty and there were organised activities. They seem to have all the equipment needed to keep residents comfortable and mobile. I would recommend this care home.

After a couple of months looking for best place for my dad, we find Erskine Hall Care Home. The manager has helped me a lot, how to talk with hospital (thank you). First month was very difficult for us, and for the staff as Dad was very sad. But now, Dad is so happy, we are happy too. The Erskine home
is a home-from-home. Clean, welcome, warm.
The nurses and carers are amazing.
Activity lady, nothing is too much for her, she is never out of ideas, Dad adores her. Food is like 5-star hotel. All the equipment, social spaces, garden is in very high standard.

My mother was a resident at Erskine Hall from April to August 2023. She moved in after a couple of spells in hospital. She felt safe and happy here. She was treated with respect and dignity by all staff, housekeepers, carers and nurses. Although my mum was not able to join in the activities, the list
of things to do looked good. She enjoyed the carer's company. Her room offered a view of green trees and she enjoyed watching the television. The food on offer was varied and plenty of choice. Visiting could be anytime and all staff were welcoming.
Value for money is a difficult one as all care is expensive but we were happy to pay for the care my mum received here.

My mum moved into Erskine Hall in March 2023, after the sad passing of her beloved husband. From the first time we viewed the scheme, we felt welcome and at home. All the staff are friendly, enthusiastic and very caring. My mum has a lovely large room, which we have personalised for her, and she has
settled very well. She has made friends and joins in with the activities, including the Hawaiian-themed party this week to celebrate the home's 'good' rating with the CQC, which they thoroughly deserve. The gardens are stunning and well kept and the outside terrace, on the first floor, is a favourite meeting place, especially in the recent sunny weather. My mum tells me that the meals are very nice and there is a good choice. She has her hair done in the salon and her nails done every week. Thank you Erskine Hall!
