Erskine Hall provides nursing, residential and dementia care. Inside the impressive, purpose-built home, they offer a warm welcome to long and short stays, including care for those living with Parkinson’s or Huntington’s care. Respite bookings can be made in advance if planning a holiday or break.

Based in a quiet suburb of Northwood, on the outskirts of Watford. There are plenty of peaceful spots and social spaces to spend time in. Residents have a choice of five lounges, where they can grab a book and cosy up in one of the armchairs or catch up with loved ones over coffee and cake. There’s an inviting terrace on the first floor, large patio area and lots of garden space that residents are free to explore, too. The home also benefits from a cinema room, hairdressing room with nail bar too.

There's a great atmosphere and the staff encourage residents to get involved as much as they’d like. To help residents feel at home, they take the time to get to know them. The home can then tailor activities to their interests and hobbies too. From activities such as community quizzes, crafts and flower arranging to tea dances and fetes, there is so much for residents to enjoy.

The chefs prepare a range of wholesome meals for residents to enjoy in the social dining area or in the comfort of their own room. They also talk to each resident about their likes, dislikes and any special dietary needs when they move in. That way, their food is cooked just right.

The facilities at Erskine Hall Care Home are fab with comfy beds and a very pleasant atmosphere. Guests are made to feel welcome and the staff go above and beyond to be friendly and helpful whilst remaining professional at all times. The food is fantastic and the grounds are lovely. Overall, we couldn't
be happier with the care that Dad is receiving.

My dad spent the last month of his life in Erskine Hall. The care he received was exceptional. The staff were always kind and professional, most importantly to my dad but also to our family who were visiting. The food was excellent. I would like to thank all the staff for their genuine kindness and

We have been very impressed with the care given. My mother has become poorly, and the staff have cared for her beautifully, including accompanying her to the hospital overnight.
Special praise to a number of staff members, who have kept in touch with us through a difficult time and have always been
sensitive and caring.
We have had contact with other care homes over the last few months - this has been our best experience by far.

Erskin hall came at a difficult time in my life. I have been treated by all the staff with kindness and consideration and the room was very well kept in excellent order. I have had visits from my friends who have remarked how well I have done since I moved to Erskin Hall and continue to improve each
time they visit.

My wife is well taken care of, and her needs and health condition are well understood by the staff, nurses and carers.
All the staff are polite and understanding. The rooms are clean. The staff will listen to the requests made by the family members and comply with them.

There are two main complaints that I have experienced. One is that the toilet does not flush which is a health hazard and also the phone reception is very poor. The phone cuts out after a minute and also freezes so you are unable to continue the call.

All staff are very welcoming and friendly and seem to know my father well. The home is opening up now after Covid to allow visitors access to communal areas so we can join in activities. My father likes the food and goes to the dining area at lunchtime but is disappointed that everyone seems to have
their supper in their rooms.
It is a shame that care homes are short of staff as there is a big difference between the permanent carers to the agency staff. The carers all joined in for a Halloween party even doing a little song and dance for the residents.
The rooms are spacious with a built-in wardrobe and en-suite shower rooms.
The home is good at keeping us advised when my father has had a fall or has an appointment arranged and I feel he is safe as no one can enter without a staff member letting you in or to leave. He does feel isolated as residents don't seem to congregate for a chat.

My mother was at Erskine Hall for 5 years and throughout the care was first class. In the days leading up to her death, the staff were there for her and ensured she was comfortable and passed away peacefully and not alone.

Erskine Hall is a very well-managed purpose-built care home situated in lovely grounds where residents can sit or walk with relatives. I received much-appreciated advice and assistance from their admin team when my dear wife, who has Alzheimer's, had to go into the care home. All the staff both nursing
and non-nursing are excellent and very caring. Their duties are always performed in a professional manner together with that wonderful natural ingredient of 'kindness' added.

I found Erskine Hall Care Home to be a very comfortable and friendly home. Nothing was too much trouble, but the staff were tuned in to the needs of the resident and I felt my cousin was in a safe and comfortable place with good facilities and good food.

As a service user at Erskine Hall Care Home, I have nothing but good thoughts and even better words to say. The service of practical care and even mental assistance has been particularly good for me. All the staff are sympathetic but practical and caring. The social side of the service is excellent
and I have never felt isolated or alone.

My sister and I were unable to view Erskine Hall Care Home last year due to Covid-19 prior to our mother's admission. We then had to leave her for 14-days before being able to visit. We were encouraged by the staff to face time and phone whenever we liked to make sure she had settled in ok. She struggled
to adapt to being in the home but the staff were wonderful and would encourage her to take part in the activities. The staff were always very kind and understanding towards her. In the last few weeks of her life, they couldn't have been more accommodating to us to enable us to visit and spend time with her. We both would highly recommend Erskine Hall Care Home.

Considering my husband was admitted during covid and I was unable to view Erskine Hall, I was not disappointed. The care received was extremely good and it was good to hear staff laughing despite the pressures. A very happy atmosphere. First-class attention to medical care. Sad that visiting was so
restricted during covid, but overall very satisfied.

Covid 19 has made it very difficult for the care home to excel in everything and having visitors has been one area. Also, I believe reduced possible activities.
Food and drink. I was very happy with the supplied drink but did feel the food could have more variety. The soup may have been healthy, but
was hard to describe with little taste.
Some staff shortage was apparent at times, but they were all excellent and looked after me well.
Unable to comment on value for money. I have nothing to compare it with.

My short stay at Erskine Hall Care Home following a hip replacement contributed greatly to my recovery. Erskine Hall offered me a much-needed rest. The staff were caring, adaptable and attentive to their patient's needs. Their flexibility (meal times etc) was particularly appreciated. Should I need
respite, I would go back to Erskine Hall with pleasure.

Under Covid restriction, Erskine Hall was a Godsend. As we got Mother out of the hospital for end of life care, so the family could visit her in her final weeks of her 97-year life. All the nurses and carers were wonderful and very helpful in the care they gave Mother and the attention they gave us
when visiting. Regular communications were excellent. All in all, a big thank you.
