Field House warmly welcomes those in need of nursing, residential, short stay care. Residents can stay for a day, a few weeks, a month – however long their loved one needs support. They’ll get to relax and meet new friends, giving you complete peace of mind. The home has a dedicated respite room which can be booked up to a year in advance, staff are happy to accept last-minute requests too.

Field House is an elegant Edwardian residence in a quiet neighbourhood, modernised former private house that has many stylish comforts, such as an oak-panelled lounge, fireplace and an ornate ceiling. Secluded gardens, each with a shady pergola, enable clients to make the most of the summer weather.

Residents have their personal plan in place to ensure their dietary tastes are accounted for, and snacks and refreshments can be enjoyed throughout the day.

There's a great atmosphere and the staff encourage residents to get involved as much as they’d like. To help residents feel at home, they take the time to get to know them. The home can then tailor activities to their interests and hobbies too. From activities such as community quizzes, crafts and flower arranging to tea dances and fetes, there is so much for residents to enjoy.

Being close to the station means some on-street parking restrictions apply but the team will happily issue you a pass.

I cannot speak highly enough regarding Field House. The wonderful staff without exception were caring and experienced.
They treated Mum with kindness and respect. Meals were lovely.
Activities were always organised every day and Mum spent a very happy, comfortable three years there.
When the end
came she was treated with exceptional kindness and dignity.

We were recommended to Field House by the family of another long term resident and a friend who had worked there. It proved to be the best decision for her care I could ever have made. She first enjoyed a couple of periods of respite and then became a long term resident for two years.
I did not have
one concern during all this time, although my mother was very frail when she went into care. Indeed, she became mentally stronger, benefitting hugely from leaving hospital care, as the staff at Field House provide a very personal service, take time to get to know the residents who they treat with dignity at all times.
Even though my mother was not able to join in many activities in the lovely communal rooms, entertainers always visited my mother in her room and she particularly enjoyed the little dogs coming to see her.
The care home manager is outstanding and understood my mother's very complex needs. I would not hesitate in recommending Field House to anyone.

My short stay in Field House has been very comfortable with a very comfortable bed.
The staff were very friendly and were good with each other.
The food was always well presented and the menu was varied and very enjoyable.

Excellent standard of accommodation and caring friendly staff. I did look at other homes and the quality of the rooms was far inferior. The range of activities and father was taken out on trips on several occasions. (Museum, garden centre and another home for a function). I would recommend.

Both my parents needed care. Mum first, followed by Dad three months later. Field House was ideal at the time as it is local and easy for friends to visit, however it was a long way for family to visit regularly. The staff were very professional and caring and tried very hard to make living at Field
House feel like home. They encouraged participation in a variety of activities wherever possible. However not all the rooms have ensuite facilities which at times made things difficult. Being a BUPA care home, they are pricing themselves out of the market. Field House is an old property made into a care home, with narrow corridors, stairways, some of the rooms are quite dark and small, but the staff do give a good level of care and commitment.

My Mum had pneumonia twice in the hospital eighteen months ago. I was told by the doctors that she would get it again as the pneumonia was food related. She left the hospital bed bound and more confused than when she went in. She moved into Field House and has been looked after. She has deteriorated
gradually over time. Over the past two months, she has been fed, kept clean and looked after by the staff. They have been fantastic to me too.

Both my partner's parents lived in Field House for some years. They were not easy people, unused to interaction with others, but Field House staff really worked hard to cater for their needs. I was always able to find someone with whom I could discuss concerns and felt that these were listened to and,
usually, acted upon.
I would single out the quality of the food, which always looked appetising and offered a reasonable variety; it was certainly much better than the food offered to my own mother in a different care home. Laundry services were very efficient, and the general level of cleanliness very good. I did sometimes think the activities were less than inspiring, but I realise that this is a very challenging area and indeed my "in-laws" did not want to participate.
The staff team was well motivated and the atmosphere always seemed to be very positive. Turnover was pretty low, so residents could build relationships with carers and nursing staff.

We have been very happy with the quality of care at Field House. The staff are all very friendly, kind and supportive and some have a fabulous sense of humour, a very welcome attribute when dealing with difficult circumstances.

After a fall on the pavement, I was taken by ambulance to the hospital for x-ray to my pelvis which was (slightly) fractured. After several weeks in hospital, I was transferred to Field House for rehabilitation (4weeks). The atmosphere there was welcoming and the staff efficient and very friendly and
yet there was clearly an underlying discipline. My stay was enjoyable.

My father was only at Field House for a short time before he sadly passed away. During his stay, he was very well looked after by a great team who do an amazing job. Not long after he went to Field House he celebrated his 90th Birthday. The staff laid on a lovely lunch for him, my family and a couple
of his friends and even cooked him his requested meal. It is small things like this that are really appreciated and shows the level of care and compassion Field House gives to its residents.

My cousin's health and peace of mind have improved immensely during his time at Field House. Staff have all shown both professionalism and kindness.

My father moved in 15 months ago. The move was easy and the staff are helpful, friendly and caring from the start. The manager is very good, clear communication with us and my father. He is always clean as is his room and the home.
Medication is administered efficiently. His health issues are reacted
to quickly and the home seems to have a good relationship with Gp's and other service providers.
The staff seem to go "The extra mile" my father is happy!

My Mother has been very weak and poorly during this last month, but the care and attention she has received at the home has been absolutely wonderful. Nothing has been too much trouble for the staff and they have bent over backwards to ensure that she is comfortable, fed with that she would like and

My father has lived in Field House Care Home for just over a year now. During this time, I have nothing but praise to say about it. The staff have treated him with care, kindness, respect and dignity. They have adapted to his changing care needs involving us closely with all aspects of his care. All
the staff have always been supportive to us as a family and have shown kindness and understanding to my 91-year-old mother when we bring her to visit her husband of 70 years. They have tried their best to make it as much like home as possible.

I came to Field House on 16th January following a week in hospital suffering from pneumonia. What I needed was somewhere quiet where I would be cared for whilst I recovered sufficiently to return home and, with carers, to live in my own home. Field House has met my needs. The staff are friendly and
helpful. The home is very well equipped and comfortable. If I need respite care again I would hope to find a place here.
