My husband was transferred to Northwood Nursing Home recently and the transition into care has not been at all easy for him.
However, the management and staff have gone to great lengths to ease the process for him and have kept us updated and reassured throughout and have ensured he is safe and well
cared for.
Due to their efforts, he has started to settle which is a testament to them. I would not hesitate to recommend this nursing home.

Northwood Nursing Home took great care of my mum for the short period of time she was with them before she passed away in hospital in January. She was comfortable and happy there and told us she was looked well looked after. All the staff are friendly and caring and always treated my mum with dignity
and respect. The home is always clean and Mum's room was always tidy.
The activities are particularly good for all the residents and everyone is warmly welcomed by staff and management including relatives who are encouraged to visit at any time and offered refreshments whenever they visit.
We enjoyed the Christmas party, especially as it was my mum's last and we would like to sincerely thank all the staff and the manager of Northwood Nursing Home for the excellent work they do and, for making my mum's last few months a positive experience.

The staff here are very good. Always friendly and helpful. I find the noise difficult and I am not used to being around people with dementia. They have started doing activities recently which is good.

I visit my mum four times a week. In the early days, my mum found the home a bit strange as it was a new environment. However, within 3-4 weeks, she began to settle down. The staff were polite and caring. I could say they look after very well. They play and interact with my mum. They talk to her. Some
staff speak Gujarati, and this helps my mum communicate and understand her. I would recommend this home to family and friends if they need similar care.

The manager, deputy manager and staff have been very supportive of me and my husband who has settled in very well. Unfortunately, my husband's speech, due to his Alzheimer's, is not recognisable and difficult to follow, despite this, the carers are giving him the best possible care and work closely
with me on his needs like food and hair cuts etc. My husband is always well dressed and clean. I am sorry I cannot make any comments on his room, the facilities or activities due to COVID restrictions. Thank you all at Northwood Nursing Home.

Very happy with the care and support offered to my brother and our family. The manager and staff are excellent, patient, understanding and compassionate at all times. I am very satisfied with the high quality of care and support given to my wife, who was admitted to the home in August 2017. I particularly appreciate the compassion and sensitivity shown by the staff, who understand her condition of vascular dementia and the associated needs. The residents are treated
with respect and - where appropriate - are able to make their own decisions about daily life in the home.
The management are very responsive to any concerns expressed and keep me up to date with any changes in my wife's circumstances. A member of staff will often provide refreshments when I visit and give me the space to assist my wife with meals.
I am reassured that my wife is safe and I trust the staff to look after her well.
Finally, I have no hesitation in recommending Northwood Nursing Home to anyone who is seeking a secure and caring environment for their relative with qualified staff who have the experience and expertise to manage a range of health conditions.

My name is Sharon, I joined MD Homes in February 2023 and have worked in the healthcare sector for over 30 years.


I have worked with learning disabilities, mental health, elderly, frail and palliative care residents. I aim to create a service that empowers our residents to make decisions and retain independence wherever possible. I know the importance of compassionate, respectful care, and my main focus is to treat every client as an individual, building personalised care packages to meet their needs.
