Osbourne Court is a purpose built modern care home designed over two floors. Situated right in the heart of the idyllic country market town of Baldock in Hertfordshire and close to the town centre and all major amenities, it is easy to access.

Osbourne Court offers offers fully inclusive, 24/7 person centred care. Long term residential care, short term respite stays, and specialist dementia care are all available options at the home.

The home provides en-suite bedrooms which are all capable of customisation, and are fully accessible.

Osbourne Court has a variety of resident and visitor lounges, and provides fully inclusive dining in a choice of dining areas.

All care staff are experienced care professionals, including the Engagement Leads who ensure that the residents' independence is maintained, providing a varied activities schedule incorporating all individual preferences.

My mother lived at Osbourne Court for the last year, sadly passing recently. She had dementia and a number of physical health problems especially towards the end of her life. I can only speak highly of the kindness and respect with which she was treated and the professionalism of the staff, which made
life easier for both her and the rest of the family. I have no previous experience of dealing with care homes but I was very encouraged by my dealings with this one

My first impression of my friend's room was that it was a bit tatty. However, once his things were in it looked ok, it is light and airy. I am told that mealtimes are a bit noisy and chaotic but in fairness it's understandable. The staff - nurses, carers, cleaners, laundry personnel, etc - are excellent,
very kind and patient. Overall, the place has a cheerful atmosphere. Garden/outdoor area needs attention, could be more accessible.

My sister has been very well treated. Her medical needs met very well.
The family has always been able to get information when needed.
She is only being moved to be geographically closer to her family.
There have been no concerns about her wellbeing and care at Osbourne Court.

The home was neat and tidy and clean. Staff are friendly. Staff are always very busy which means there is very limited time for them to give one-to-one time with patients. The previous time I attended on 6th June (a month previous) with the social worker, staff agreed to amend the spelling of her name
on the door and replace the damaged chair in her room both quick jobs. These had not been implemented. I hope when I visit next these changes will have been made.

Staff are excellent; very helpful, professional and caring.
When we/mum has an issue - staff are always keen to help us.
Mum has a small appetite and has asked for her lunchtime meal to be a smaller portion please - this may make her feel more like eating.

I like this home because everyone is warm and welcoming. Staff have been bending over backwards for my relative as we went on a downward trend. Pick up again these last few days, I will be forever grateful. The management are good, they also make sure they keep up to speed with residents and relatives.
All in all, the home is clean, pleasant, homely and welcoming including maintenance staff, cleaners, carers and activity staff, as well as, excellent nursing staff.

The staff and everyone in the care home are very kind, helpful and supportive.
My dad has been in the home for approximately 2 years, he was given lots of support to help settle in and it is still continuing. His care is excellent.

Both my parents are in this care home.
I am very impressed with the care and support they are both given.
They are treated with the utmost dignity.
The facilities and cleanliness of their room and the rest of the home is wonderful.

Generally very pleased with the care my Husband receives from staff. However, consistent staff shortages place great pressure on carers in attendance. Staff turnover has escalated recently. Laundering of clothes leaves much to be desired! Clothes are returned with stains not removed and pyjamas are
not ironed and often look awful. I have taken some laundered clothes home to do properly. Carpet in room is stained and is purportedly going to be replaced with vinyl throughout the home.

Both Mother and Father-in-law have been resident in Osbourne Court. Mother-in-law passed away in January 2018 but was quite well looked after during the year she was here. Father-in-law has been here for over 2 years and, although his mental and physical condition has deteriorated, we feel the majority
of staff do their best for him.

The care home is staffed by very competent personnel and has a nice homely atmosphere. Food is excellent. Doctors are readily available from a clinic nearby and prescribed medication is properly dispensed by the staff.
Regular entertainment are laid on and a pet dog etc do regular visits.

My mother went into this care home approximately 2 years ago and was originally given 3 months to live.
She was fortunate to exceed this and really felt at home in her little room.
She got to know the staff well and I did too.
They did all they could to make her stay the best there could be.
As
a nurse myself for over 35 years I would say they did an excellent job and I know what pressures they come up against.
I am so glad she ended her days surrounded by truly caring staff.

I was the Care Plan and Safeguarding champion in my previous workplace, and in 2023 I was promoted to Home Manager here at Osbourne Court I have a special interest in dementia and how music can enhance memory and improve cognition.
