Premier Court is set in a very peaceful countryside location within Bishop’s Stortford. It provides a full range of residential and nursing care.

They’re here when you and your loved ones need them most. For planned respite or last- minute trips. A safe space to recover after an operation. To experience what their home’s like before moving long- term. To just relax. Whatever the reason, their doors are open.

A modern, purpose-built home, Premier Court has comfortable ensuite single bedrooms and attractive décor. The home features well-furnished lounge areas where residents can relax and socialise, there is also an onsite hair salon and the homes very own tea room for all to enjoy.

The home benefits from lots of outside space with courtyard gardens for family and friends to use whenever they come to visit. The home is also wheelchair accessible throughout.

Enjoying food is an important part of life. The chefs create well-crafted menus made with the freshest ingredients. Soon after a resident arrives at the home, staff discuss their personal preferences and dietary needs with them.

There’s a real sense of community at Premier Court. The staff work to discover what residents enjoy doing and the home's social calendar is organised around those interests. I have been here for six months and from the off, what stuck me was how kind all the staff were to me and how they treated me with dignity and respect. Nothing appears too much trouble for them and they are always considerate of my needs and likes.

My dad had always said ‘if I need to have extra care then the only place I will go is Premier Court’. So we got to that point almost a year ago now and he is so happy. He hasn’t looked so well for a long while.
The staff are so friendly and will give their all.
He immerses himself in everything
that is going on and there is a lot. I live 180 miles away but we have a smart speaker with video call, so we see each other most days. I am kept informed by the staff of how he is and what is going on.
The big thing I think, is everyone is valued as an individual and the days are set around the resident's needs. Nothing is too much trouble and it is all done with a smile.

My mother has a number of health issues and found living on her own increasingly difficult. She was reluctant to admit she was struggling and lonely. Her situation was a real worry to our family. After a short stay in hospital, she and the family agreed it would make sense for her to move to residential
care. Whilst it has taken a while for her to adjust she is now very happy at Premier Court. From the moment she arrived, the staff have shown her nothing but care and kindness. The home is well-run and has a homely feel about it. There are daily activities for residents if they want to join in. My mum loves it when they have music and singing. The home is on one level and set in a very quiet area with lovely grounds. It has outside garden areas where residents can sit. She is much happier now.

My mum and my sister have been residents now for just over 6 months, Mum's Parkinson's and sight impairment had deteriorated to a point where she could no longer remain living independently nor with my sister who has a learning disability.
The attitude of staff is first class. We are always greeted
by a smile and a “hello” every time we visit whether it be via the reception desk, or the activities team, let alone as we wander around and “bump into” care staff or nurses. Everybody is incredibly personable, all know my mum and sister very well and we are always made to feel at home whether visiting or just asking questions via face-to-face chats or emails. Nothing appears to be too much trouble and the nurses keep us up to date on any ailments.
My mum and sister are exceptionally happy and feel very comfortable. The level of care and understanding is first class in their eyes and when they tell me that, that is certainly good enough for me.

I appreciate all care homes are under severe pressure. Staff shortages and increases in costs, but there is/has been a lack of communication between the home and myself for quite a while now, and it is something I have mentioned before. Being a long-distance relative and as communication with my mother
is limited - more input from the home would be useful.

My grandmother arrived at Premier Court Care Home in April 2023 for end of life care. It was a very difficult time but everyone at the home has been so very kind and looked after my grandmother with care. I feel that it is because of their care that she has improved and although she has end of life
care, she has been eating, drinking and slowly improving and has actually gained weight. My grandmother's well-being has also improved. She arrived at the home with a stoma bag and that in itself has been challenging, as it bursts constantly but again the staff have dealt with it every time with ease and patients. All the staff are very approachable and will take time to talk to you when you have questions. I could not be more appreciative that my grandmother is being cared for in this pretty home. Thank you all.

The staff and management are excellent. The care for the residents was very good. They dealt with his challenging behaviour when needed and had a brilliant understanding of his needs.

I was unable to take care of my mother and was eventually told that a place was available at Premier Court Nursing Home in Thorley, Bishop's Stortford. My mother was made welcome the moment she arrived even though she was too ill to realise it, the staff were very welcoming and very sympathetic towards
her health which had deteriorated very quickly. The staff made us feel at ease with their very caring attitude. They tried to get her to eat and drink and kept her comfortable calling into her room each time they passed showing their concern. They kept her clean and tidy eager to give advice on how she was. My mother was improving slightly but unfortunately, she couldn't carry on and she passed away on the 9th of June 2022, the last 34 days before her 101 birthday. We just wish we could have placed her there sooner. So friendly, caring, clean and welcoming. Thank you for all you did.

My mum went into Premier Court in February 2022 as she is no long longer fit enough to stay in her own home. We as a family are very happy with the care mum has received and seems very happy. All the staff are very caring and approachable if needed. The atmosphere at Premier Court is very warm!

My grandmother has been a resident for approx 6 months now, and we are very happy with the care that she has received. All the staff are friendly and caring, the home is very well run, and there is always someone on hand to assist if you need it. I would definitely recommend Premier Court Care Home.
There is also weekly entertainment varying from singers, piano players, bingo and arts and crafts. Thank you for looking after my 99-year-old nana for us; we are confident that she is in safe and caring hands.

In my opinion, the staff and management did everything to make my father-in-law's final two years of his life happy and comfortable to whom I am extremely grateful. If I was to suggest anything it would be a lick of paint in the rooms.

We couldn't wish for a better care home for Granddad. They made him so comfortable up until his last days. Staff are very welcoming, COVID rules always well organised and the activity schedules for the residents are amazing.
The care home is always clean and staff would go above and beyond to make
it feel like the resident's home. Would recommend to anyone.

My husband is still receiving excellent care and attention by the staff at Premier Court despite the difficulties Covid-19 created. The home kept me fully informed regarding all restrictions which had to be put in place. All I can say is thank you to all of you!

Mum has now been a resident for 2 years. She has been through 2 full lockdowns, survived Covid and celebrated her 90th birthday today. As Covid is still circulating, BUPA rules dictate that only her essential caregiver can visit, but several of the staff and the entertainment manager took the time to
join me to celebrate with her, for which I am so grateful. All the staff at Premier are wonderful and I am so glad she chose to move here. Thank you.

My Dad was a resident at Premier Court Care Home for the last 6 weeks of his life. The staff were excellent at all times, kind, caring and professional, and communicated well with us. We felt very much part of a team caring for my Dad which gave us immense peace of mind. The staff were very kind and

My partner was admitted to Premier Court on palliative care, where he was looked after by the excellent staff and management during his brief stay there. They afforded him a comfortable and safe end to his days, and above all in his final moments in beautiful peaceful surroundings. I cannot thank them
enough for going out of their way to make me feel comfortable during each visit and gave me much needed reassurance about his passing. Thank you for your dedication Premier Court.

Totally recommend Premier Court Care Home - From the first time I stepped foot inside the home on a busy family-filled Sunday, all of the staff I met were very helpful and friendly, they made a very hard upsetting decision/situation very easy for me. As soon as I met them and looked around, I knew my
mum would be very happy there. It’s coming up 6-years that my mum has lived at the home, and I can honestly say she has had the best care I could have ever had wanted for her. All the staff make you feel welcome any time you go there, and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are very clean, the food is lovely, and they have plenty of activities going on. They are very organised with the doctor or hospital visits, even at one of my mum's hospital visits, the surgeon was very impressed with how my mum had been cared for.
What else can I say other than it’s the best home and only home I would ever have my mum live in! Thank you to all the staff for making my mum live happily.
