We feel tremendously lucky that our Dad was offered a place at this Stagenhoe/Sue Ryder. It is a rare home that can cope with difficult and complicated conditions.
Before Dad lost his ability to speak he told us that it was a better home and the staff were mothering him.
The staff turnover is low
so that he got to know people. His care plan was completed the first day he arrived. Whenever I arrived he was always clean and cared for. He was at serious risk of falling so staff quickly tried different tactics to minimise risks.
He entered Stagenhoe covered in bruises from falling but they faded and he didn't get any more.
He lived here for a year and that last year of his life was made much better by the care shown by the staff at Stagenhoe.
