Woodlands View Care Home, situated in Poplars, provides residential, nursing and nursing dementia care to older people in a kind and inclusive setting.

Each member of the team is dedicated to providing the kindest care to every resident. Prioritising dignity and choice, care services are designed to enhance residents' lives, empowering them to live as independently as possible safe in the knowledge that a caring team is always on hand.

The setting itself continues this trajectory, designed with wheelchair accessibility as well as many other amenities to promote independence, Woodlands View is a place which residents are proud to call home. Recently refurbished, the lovely sitting rooms are the perfect spot to relax, catch up on TV or enjoy the company of fellow residents. Meanwhile, the delightful landscaped garden and patio offers a great alternative for the warmer months.

The dining areas are the catering team's playground. Here, they express their creativity to offer varied menus that are as nutritious as they are delicious. They work hard to make sure that meal times are enjoyable for residents, with something to suit everyone, and are always happy to cater for visiting loved ones too.

Lucas House where mum is happy and stable. Would be good if one carer could speak the same language, especially as here and a couple of staff in the other houses, would give me piece of mind knowing mum could talk and convey her concerns. We visit daily, however, it must still get lonely for her. 3
staff members in particular are fabulous and we are so happy with the care they give her.

The staff are all very helpful and pleasant, they relate well to the residents, and genuinely seem to care. I like the idea of having different houses for different levels of care, and the fact residents are taken to different houses to meet residents for coffee morning.

I find the care home a very pleasant place. The staff are always very friendly and polite. The friend that I visit is perfectly happy to be there, he is at home.

My husband has been at Woodlands View Nursing Home for a year now. Having cared for him previously I fully understand how much care goes into keeping him healthy and clean. Care is expensive, but when the fee is broken down it is less than £8 an hour. I visit twice every day and he is always clean and
quite content. Having Parkinson's and dementia he needs a lot of looking after. I love the day that I can visit any time. When he arrived last December he had been in and out of hospital and was in a bad state when he arrived. The care home has got him back to a normal weight and he can now live a lot longer because of the wonderful care he gets.

The manager's office, staff, carers have all been very supportive. They always resolve situations to their highest ability.

My brother's stay at this home was the result of an emergency admission to the hospital. He was discharged after recovery for a period of respite. He was made welcome, despite a resistance to residential care with, as he saw it, a loss of independent living! He has been looked after very well, the staff
taking a real interest in him and promoting a sense of independence whilst at the same time, ensuring he is clean, well-fed, hydrated, and properly supported in taking his medication. The home staff and the manager, in particular, have kept the family informed of progress, reflecting, that in other circumstances he would like to stay at the home. It is pleasantly situated with easy country walking close to hand. The socialising (e.g. at meal times), has been encouraging my brother to better manage his drift from isolation, as well as supporting his independence. He can engage or disengage to the degree he is comfortable with. We are very happy with the home and its services.

It is extremely hard when a parent has to move out of his/her home and into a care facility. I dreaded entering the home to visit my mum but I was pleasantly surprised. The whole atmosphere was warm and inviting which is down to the wonderful, hard-working staff that go out of their way to make family
welcome and the residents feel safe and loved. Since being in the home, my mum has flourished and improved so much. She engages in fun activities and enjoys the amazing food. I feel relieved that she is in a very safe and nurturing environment.

My father was admitted to Newton House 18 months ago in a very frail condition.
He is doing so well under their care and has just celebrated his 100th birthday in style.
The staff are so caring and professional, and dare I say loving.

We are happy with the care that Nan receives from the staff in Lucas House. There have been many staff changes recently, and some lovely new members introduced.
Nan still finds the food a bit hit-and-miss.

My mother is well cared for and happy. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. I am kept informed re the state of her health. It would be nice if more outdoor activities were available. Also, a TV in her room would be nice.

The staff in both Lucas House and Newton House showed great affection for our mother as she battled a painful illness. She was always treated with care and respect when her illness rapidly increased the nursing staff went beyond their duty staying extra hours to give her as much care as they could.
In her final hours were given all the time we needed to say our goodbyes.

I am writing to say thank you to all the Care Home staff that have been taking care of my father over the past five months. He has complex clinical needs, but is nonetheless being kept comfortable and is happy and cheerful. The staff work hard and find time to chat and engage with my father, which has
helped his speech develop. The home is bright and cheery and it is a pleasure to visit him in the Home. Thank you!

I moved my mum to Woodlands View having moved her from a previous nursing home where the care was an absolute disgrace! Every single member of staff from a particular nurse to all the health care assistants, entertainment and cooks. Everybody is so kind, caring and compassionate. I love my mum very
much and I can sleep at night knowing she is well cared for at Newton House. Your staff are brilliant, what more can I say?
