Inglefield Nursing Home is located close to the seaside village Totland, and provides nursing, residential, palliative, respite, dementia and day care.

Many rooms within the Victorian building have access to either patio or veranda facilities, while a choice of lounges overlooking the landscaped gardens give residents the opportunity to select the environment they wish to be in.

An activities co-ordinator arranges daily activities for the residents as well as private one-on-one sessions in bedrooms for those who are less mobile.

The cuisine at Inglefield is prepared to a high standard. All meals are made with the best ingredients providing the right nutrients to keep residents healthy.

Independence is promoted throughout the home and regular visits from friends and family are encouraged and welcomed.

The care team that looked after my sister and me was brilliant. They went out of the way to help us. Nothing was too much trouble for each and every one of them.
When we asked for different drinks and food they did all they could to provide it and with a smile.

I am pleased to report that despite lockdown and the difficulties that has presented that my daughter appears to be much more settled and happy. Because of her sight and serious learning difficulties, she does not appear to recognise me or other family members through the plastic screen. However, seeing
her apparent contentment, that is most gratifying.

Thanks to all staff at Inglefield who took care of my 85-year-old mother. Unfortunately, her admission coincided with the early weeks of lockdown, which meant that we were unable to come to the home to visit until early summer when we were allowed visits of 30 minutes (in PPE) which was appreciated.
We are grateful to the staff for ensuring that the home remained 'covid free' during Mum's stay, even if it meant restricting access from the outside world! Mum was able to take part in some of the activities at the home, which provided some stimulation to her. Mum also built up a good rapport with many of the staff. During my weekly visits to the home, the staff were professional, friendly and helpful. A suggestion I would make to improve communications between residents and family would be to have more telephone handsets available on each level of the building or even in individual rooms, so that staff wouldn't have to spend so much time carrying the phone up to another floor.

Our sincere thanks to all the staff who cared for my father for more than a year. He was fiercely independent and did not accept help easily. He seemed the happiest and most relaxed we had seen him after moving here. The staff showed him great compassion and respect. He even had some fun. As his health
declined they involved him in important decisions and he died the way he wanted to. Before he died he commented on how well the staff had cared for him - he had 'no complaints' - high praise from him. There had been years of him resisting help from family and professional care whilst living alone. We were surprised and delighted with how well the staff at Inglefield won his trust. We found Inglefield easy to communicate with and welcoming when visiting him. The home was recommended to us by people living locally and it lived up to its reputation.

I would like to thank all the staff at Inglefield for looking after mum over the last few years.
Mum had high mobility needs and these were met with dignity and respect.
Sadly we have just lost mum and I feel strongly to thank everyone at Inglefield for their continuing care, professionalism and support
which also extends to relatives when visiting.

I can only say that, although my mother would rather have stayed at home for the last 4 weeks of her life, I could not have asked for a better alternative, especially as she became totally dependant on care support, something not possible at home. Mum had always said she would only go into a Home 'in
a box', but circumstances dictated she accept this help. From the moment she arrived, she had nothing but praise for all the staff, the quality of the food (when she ate it!!) and all the support she received. Thank you all so much for making mum's final days that much more bearable, for both mum herself and the rest of the family. I would strongly recommend your Nursing Home to any who asks.

My wife was admitted to Inglefield as a terminally ill patient at the end of June and received very caring treatment from all the staff during the four months of her stay right up until the end. I visited her each day and sat in the room with her until evening and was able to observe her care and the
attending staff at first hand and can only speak highly of all concerned. They all spoke of my wife as a lovely lady and treated her as such that is the simple truth.

We were pleased with most of the care. They all seemed friendly. A couple of carers I felt were not 100%. I felt a bit more bed care needed approach to P.T.
Most nurses very approachable, two not very approachable, abrupt and outspoken to staff in front of P.T. - not very professional.
The home is
kept clean. Meals have a good choice.
Most staff very good and caring.
Certain medication found not to be given to my mother, which I was surprised at and wondered if this was fault on the hospital not prescribing, so am taking this up with management there. Stopped or did not receive Thyroxine and another one also.

Every effort was made to make Mum comfortable. Any problem I could take them to the staff in charge that shift and try to resolve, which did happen.

Although my wife is unable to feed herself, walk or communicate, she is treated kindly and with respect by the staff. Problems are dealt with swiftly.
Her room is kept clean, tidy and warm.
Access is easy and parking is adequate.
Overall, highly recommended.

When I was told my sister needed full-time residential care I had no hesitation in approaching Inglefield Nursing & Residential Home as I had previously visited another resident and I was impressed then, The whole place is so clean, the staff are friendly and efficient and also extremely patient. The
food is excellent and various entertainment for the residents is provided.

Inglefield always has a positive atmosphere with mostly smiling carers and workers (compared to the two previous care homes mum was in) Very helpful in phoning me when mum has falls or other problems and the medical care is good. The only problem has been loss of some clothes and the appearance of other
peoples clothes in mums room?
She is very much happier in this nursing home. We find the female family managers most helpful and well organised.

Excellent care & kindness to both my partner & myself. Couldn't ask for better. Very good provision of nursing & care staff who were cheerful and efficient. This is a very well-run nursing home which should be reciprocated all over the UK.

Charlotte completed her NVQs and worked her way through the ranks to become Deputy Manager at her previous care home. After over a year in post as Deputy at Inglefield Charlotte became Acting Manager.


Charlotte is very interested in a person-centred approach to care, with the residents involvement to ensure a 'home from home' environment for residents.
