Springfield Nursing Home is located in the charming seaside town of Shanklin on the Isle of Wight. The stunning Edwardian building has been carefully extended over the years, providing a comfortable and homely environment for its residents.

The home has been carefully created with three underlying values at its core – care, comfort and companionship. Quality of life is key at Springfield and they provide a full programme of activities to help residents engage in and maintain their hobbies and interests. Homemade meals can be enjoyed in the dining room.

Springfield also benefits from a coffee machine for residents and visitors, and video calling is available to keep in touch with friends and family as well as an all inclusive laundry service.

Springfield provides cosy, safe and comfortable surroundings for those who call it 'home', comprising 60 well proportioned en-suite bedrooms which are all beautifully decorated and fully furnished. Several assisted bathrooms are also available. The home also benefits from pleasant landscaped gardens and a welcoming terrace, providing the ideal space to relax or enjoy various outdoor activities.

The care Springfield gives to my father is second to none, and I cannot recommend them highly enough. My mother stayed with you five years ago following a stroke (for three years), and her care was exemplary during all that time; my hopes that it was still the same have been upheld.
The day my father
was admitted to Springfield, he was undernourished, not interested in anything and very poorly following an accident where he broke his neck. I cannot believe the difference in him! He is putting on weight and has enjoyed eating meals with the other residents and the odd game of dominoes.
He has been given a new lease of life. Thank you, Springfield.

I have stayed at Springfield for a month. During that time, the care and attention shown by all the staff - together with the first-class facilities has meant that I have been very well cared for. The physiotherapy I have received has greatly improved my septic arthritis. I spent Christmas here. The
home was bright and fully decorated, and all the staff made sure that it was an enjoyable time.

Springfield are providing excellent care to my father. All of the staff work very hard to provide this level of care and do it in a dedicated and professional manner and in excellent spirit. The food provided is good and the staff offer flexibility to tailor meals to his needs and likes. He enjoys the
activities that are arranged during the day so he can meet with and chat to the other residents. Whilst he is concerned at the overall cost of the care, he feels safe and well looked after.

The care at Springfield is excellent, from the management, household, maintenance man, entertainment and most of all the care staff. Mum is happy there and very well looked after by all. I can leave and feel Mum is safe and well. If I could give six stars I would.

Springfield is an efficiently-run establishment. Without exception, the staff are dedicated, hardworking, caring and permanently cheerful. There is a great camaraderie and teamwork here, which reflects in their work. Nothing is too much trouble and help is always at hand, even individual food preferences
are met by the kitchen staff. I cannot find any fault with Springfield, which I regard as a top notch care home and which has restored me to health, courtesy of the physiotherapy also.

Overall my stay was good. Morning wake up call too late on most days, hot breakfast finished. As a vegetarian my food left a lot to be desired, often cold. Care was too rushed and shoddy.

I had been in the hospital for a few weeks and was transferred to Springfield Nursing Home on the 6th of March for rehab! I spent two weeks there and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for care. The staff, medical and others were caring, cheerful and most helpful at all times.

I'm Tom, and I am the deputy manager at Springfield Nursing Home where I have recently joined at the end of 2024.


My healthcare career began when I was 18 as a care assistant in a nursing home and a specialist dementia home, and I progressed to a nurse some years later. My experience in emergency nursing and community nursing has been invaluable to my role in management, and I continuously strive to develop my own skills further.


I am proud to be part of such an exceptional team that always has the resident's interests at heart. The values set out by Hartford Care are reflected wonderfully in the day-to-day lives of the residents here at Springfield and I feel privileged to play a role in that journey every day.
