Barty House Nursing Home offers first-rate nursing care in Bearsted, Kent.

CQC has rated the home as 'good' overall and 'outstanding' for 'responsive', thanks to an ‘innovative approach' to meeting people’s needs to ensure the best possible quality of life (January 2019).

Accommodated in an impressive Georgian listed building, combined with modern, purpose-built facilities and surrounded by extensive gardens, the home offers a high standard of care for up to 59 residents, delivered with empathy, compassion and dignity. The bright, spacious bedrooms in the contemporary extension have ensuite wetrooms and many enjoy direct access to the courtyard garden and views over the grounds.

The characterful rooms in the older part of the building come in various sizes, and some also have ensuite facilities. Their traditional windows overlook different aspects of the garden, offering captivating views at any time of year.

Nursing and care staff are on hand 24/7, supported by the dedicated administration, facilities and housekeeping teams, while the activities staff provide a daily programme of interesting and varied activities.

The communal areas, including the glass-fronted Willow Lounge which overlooks the Kent countryside, are designed to provide comfortable spaces to socialise with guests or other residents.

The grounds surrounding the house include traditional English gardens at the front and a wheelchair-accessible courtyard area at the centre of the new building. The gardens are inhabited by rabbits and many types of birds, so there is always something interesting to look at!

Barty House is exceptional in the way the residents are cared for, looked after and treated with dignity and respect. Carers are loving and spend quality time with residents. They all have a difficult job but carry out their duties with a professional approach. from the first time you enter Barty House
as a relative you are treated by all staff with a genuine smile and greeting. It is a difficult time for residents yet the facilities and daily activities are so well organised, makes everyone happy. An excellent team from everyone.

Barty House has a warm and friendly feel and the staff are always helpful. It's nice that I can bring my dog in to see my mother as she really enjoys seeing her.

Our mother benefited from the caring environment delivered by the lovely staff at Barty House during the last 2 and a half years of her life. The surroundings, standard of care, facilities and environment of this care home are of a good standard all round and any criticisms/concerns were quickly addressed.

My husband has been in Barty House for 4 years after a very debilitating stroke, unable to communicate, and has been cared for with extreme care and dignity. I cannot praise the staff in all areas highly enough. Barty House is a happy place, always buzzing with activities and laughter.

My mum became a resident at Barty House in November 2015 for end of life care. She passed away on 20/1/16 with the fantastic care of all the nursery staff. The staff from day one fulfilled all her wishes and treated her with the dignity and privacy that was befitting my mum and as a family we cannot
praise or thank them enough.

My mum was only in Barty for seven weeks respite but it was like checking into a five star hotel! I found it to be light, airy and toasty warm. The staff were first class. Always smiling, always helpful, treating the residents with much dignity. Mum loved them, she thoroughly enjoyed the daily activities
and judging by the weight she put on she loved the food. Mum really enjoyed her stay here and if I were a millionaire I would have loved her to stay forever. I would highly recommend Barty House.

My husband has been a resident since October 2014. He is well looked after by all the staff and is very happy. The carers are all very friendly and caring. If there is a problem the manager and her staff are usually able to sort it out. The food is excellent, the home is very clean and the laundry is
very efficient.

Two weeks spent at Barty House following major surgery for bowel cancer. My husband spent his last 2 weeks there in October 2012. Cannot praise it too highly. The nurses and staff were always helpful, kind and in good spirits. The amentities and rooms cannot be faulted. Should I need a nursing home
in the future please let it be Barty House. Residents always looked cared for and rooms tidy and clean.

Provided excellent respite care for my mother. I was apprehensive about her going into a home but she settled in very quickly and felt safe and happy to be there. The staff were caring and friendly and the food excellent. I shall certainly use them for respite again and long term if necessary.

My father spent a week respite care at Barty House after leaving hospital. His experience was a wonderful one. Happy, kind, caring staff, wonderful food. Excellent facilities, fun-loving entertainment team and a warm and comfortable environment. His every need was met with kindness and in a very prompt
