Cooksditch House Nursing & Residential Home cares for residents with compassion, empathy and dignity.

Understanding that all residents are individuals, they provide person centred care which is tailored to each person.

Care plans are built on together with the resident, family and friends that support the individual, and the team encourages active participation from all to ensure they meet the needs of the individual.

Situated in the historic town of Faversham, the care home offers a range of services to older people including residential and nursing care, respite care and palliative care.

Residents can bring their own furniture and decorate their rooms with pictures and paintings, to make their room more personalised and homely, and pets can be considered by prior arrangement.

The care home is located close to shops, Tesco is just minutes away from the home and public transport to other local areas, there are local parks and plenty of coffee shops for tea and cake.

Residents that are able to go out with family and friends are encouraged to visit the local areas of beauty.

For those that like to swim, the home is located close to the local swimming baths which has disabled access.

The home has an entertainments team that supplies a personalised activity planner weekly, quarterly residents meetings to listen to what residents would like to see going on.

There are also fetes and open days for the local community to get involved in as well as regular entertainment in-house and from external providers.

All meals provided are fresh, home cooked and three well balanced, nutritious meals are provided each day, with snacks and drinks available 24 hours per day. The team caters for specialised meals as requested.

The home has two local GP surgeries, within close proximity of Cooksditch House, one of which provides a weekly ward round.

My mum moved to Cooksditch House from early 2022 until April 2024. During this time members of the family visited often.
We all spoke to her regularly by telephone - thank you for chasing her around the building with the wireless 'phone when she was not where she should have been!
I think I can
speak for all of our family. The reception by your staff whether in person or by telephone was always friendly and respectful. My Mother had a happy experience which I cannot fault, a nursing home is never going to be the same as living under one's own roof - but Cooksditch comes very close. A combination of gentle care with a communal atmosphere of family. In 2023, Mum was transferred to the medical side after a number of health problems. This change was handled by your carers with thoughtful attention - the residential staff maintained contact and she often visited the residential wing to see her house mates.

Mum received excellent care and treatment. All the staff were kind and always there to help. Mum particularly enjoyed the activities including craft and singing.

I had heard about how well looked after my friends relative had been at Cooksditch so when my mum needed care we were lucky enough to get her a place. I can not fault the care she receives, the staff are without exception excellent, professional and kind. The sign in reception reads, our residents don't
live in our workspace, we live in their home. The food is lovely with daily baked fresh cakes. The routine is flexible to mums needs. I don't think she could be any better looked after. I can not recommend Cooksditch highly enough.

On my husband's arrival, he was treated with care, consideration, and respect. He has been in here for a short while now, and to date, I have been extremely happy with all the staff members that have attended to him (he's not the easiest of people to please!). I as his wife have been kept informed and
they have listened and acted on my advice. From the minute you are let in, via the reception, you are greeted with genuine 'welcome' and a lovely feeling of calm. This feeling continues through the visit, enabled by everyone you meet. Everywhere is clean and fresh which in this type of environment is a pleasant change. Everyone is deserving of a very well done! And most important, my husband is happy.

I have always been pleased with the level of nursing care provided. My mother has been in Cooksditch House for nearly three years, prior to that my father was cared for in the nursing side from 2018 to 2022. The staff are always very pleasant and work hard. The new manager is also good.

The staff are helpful, welcoming and friendly. Although the building looked shabby in areas, I understand improvements are being made. The activities provided appear varied and more are in place. Communication has greatly improved since the new manager has started.

When my husband went into Cooksditch in January 2023 there was a different manager, there was no communication, we were left sitting in his room for 2 hours until I went to find someone to help us, no one showed me around, I have let the new manager know, she welcomed feedback and I’m sure under her
care Cooksditch will and has improved. The manager is very caring, it’s lovely now to have relatives meetings and nice to be informed on what’s going on. Most of the staff are wonderful, there has been some issues usually with agency staff. It would be lovely to have somewhere that relatives could go to make themselves teas, coffees etc. My husband seems settled and it’s nice to go home knowing he is being well looked after.

Having visited bed blocking in the NHS and several care homes along the south coast, I think I have a good idea on how care homes function, cleanliness etc. I was surprised at the very high standard set at Cooksditch House, but I was only visiting an old friend.

I have been working in the care sector since 1987, I have progressed through my career as a Care Assistant, Senior Care Assistant, Training Coordinator, relief manager and Deputy Manager. I have been within the management side for the past 12 + years.


My passion has always been to care for the older person, those with Dementia and those at the end of their lives.


My aim is to ensure that in these later years of their lives, they feel safe and happy within a homely environment.

I have worked in the care industry for 20 years, 19 of those years have been within Cooksditch House, I started as part of the care team, I worked my way to senior level, and I completed my management level diploma in 2022.

I was not sure what I wanted to do with my life when I left college, so I got a job at Cooksditch House as a care staff member in 2000.


I was not sure if this was the job for me at the time, but I loved the job and straight away i knew that i wanted to go into nursing.


I commenced my nurse training in 2003, whilst still working at Cooksditch House as a care staff member to help support me through my nursing qualification.


I qualified as a registered nurse in 2006, all whilst remaining at Cooksditch House where I have now reached the position of Clinical Lead and I love what I do.


I want what is best for our residents at a time in their lives when they need care and support to ensure they receive appropriate person-centred care.

I work as part of the Activity team in the mornings, where by I make sure that the residents are entertained. I like to make sure that there is a smile on everyone's face.
