Hazelwood Care Home, located in Longfield in the lovely north Kent countryside, is a purpose-built care home, dedicated to assisting residents in making the most of every day. Having opened in 2000 and renovated in 2019, Hazelwood is a modern home with two floors that have been specifically constructed to satisfy the needs of its residents.

Hazelwood Care Home offers residents exemplary standards of Dementia, Nursing, Residential and Respite Care. With a wide range of exceptional facilities, the home provides Dementia Care with nursing needs on the first floor in the Poppy Unit and general Nursing Care for elderly individuals on the ground floor in the Primrose Unit.

The home, in my eyes, is perfect.
Professional, friendly, compassionate, will always listen and willing to help. I loved the way all staff interacted with my dad, showing respect, dignity and love.
The nurses are amazing. A very good manager who leads the team forward. The maintenance guy is amazing.

Mum has now been at Hazelwood Care Home for just over 12 months. The care and support she has received in this time has been exemplary, the staff continue to be genuinely friendly, caring and supportive to her and are always welcoming to myself and Mum's visitors. Mum enjoys the regular events involving
all the residents and feels safe and cared for, as a family we are very pleased with the care provided. The home is always clean and fresh and Mum's clothes are regularly and frequently cleaned. Hazelwood provides a safe and caring happy environment and we are kept regularly updated as to Mum's health and wellbeing. As a family, we would like to thank the staff for all that they do for her. We happily recommend Hazelwood and are very pleased that a room was available when needed at very short notice.

Service is brilliant. All staff work hard to make residents happy. Everyone is friendly in here from front of house, staff and cleaners. Nice garden for everyone to enjoy in the summer months. Especially for wellbeing activities and singing out in the fresh air.

I am always reassured by the care my husband receives at Hazelwood Care Home.
Recently because the heating system broke down all the residents were taken upstairs to the dining room where there was heat.
I was very impressed by the activities, carers and nursing staff that were able to organise
a group of at lear 30 residents to have their lunch together with the least inconvenience to them.
Tables were cleared from the morning's activities and laid for lunch in a very calm and efficient way as to make the resident's life as comfortable as possible.
It seemed to me a challenging take as someone who is only used to witnessing the care my husband receives.
It proved to me how kind and caring the staff are at Hazelwood Care Home.

Hazelwood Care Home is a beautifully clean, well led care home. The food looks fresh and delicious, with a variety of drinks always on offer. All of the staff deserve praise for their care and dedication. Laundry is done promptly and to a high standard. Entertainment is a good varied selection. I visit
Mum on various different days and times and am always impressed with their continuity, and met by happy staff. A warm caring environment where residents are cared for with dignity. I have no hesitation in recommending Hazelwood and want to say a very big thank you for all you do.

Prior to choosing a new care home for my husband, we were shown all around the premises by the manager. I was impressed with the communal rooms: not too large, clean, comfortable seating, a 'homely' atmosphere in each, plus CCTV. We were able to personalise my husband's room to make it colourful and
attractive.
We met the laundry staff and noticed the care they took of the clothes; all were washed at the correct temperature and then neatly folded to return to each room later. On arrival, I was impressed that the manager and one other were waiting outside, with a wheelchair, to take my husband to his room. He was unshaven, but within minutes, the manager gave my husband the best shave ever. It was carefully and kindly done.
We met some of the carers and nurses. All earned my respect and gratitude for their kindness and considerable knowledge of caring for dementia patients. I now feel assured that we could not have chosen a better place for my husband.

My father recently moved to Hazelwood Care Home. I was given a comprehensive tour of the home. It is welcoming and extremely clean. The rooms and communal areas are tastefully decorated. I met with The manager on four occasions to discuss my expectations and my father's requirements and he took the
time to meet my father and review his care plans, NHS and council assessments and medication in great detail. My father's room is bright and airy. The furniture is clean and modern. I was given access to his room before move day to ensure everything was ready. On the day my father arrived, he was welcomed by the manager, care and maintenance staff. All were professional, kind and welcoming. Moving day was an emotional experience but all the staff made the process so much easier and gave the family comfort that he will receive excellent care and, when settled, will be happy and content. We are so grateful there was a room available. This is a truly lovely home.

Absolutely lovely care home. Amazing staff, who seem to really care about the residents and their well-being. They are also very friendly and keep us updated overall.
As a family, we are very glad we have finally found a care home to suit my aunties needs.
The reason I've put 4 stars for the room
is purely because my auntie has nearly been in the home a year and there are a few marks on the walls (it's completely expected due to all the equipment being used) but nothing a bit of paint won't sort out. Overall, the care home is fanatic and would definitely recommend.

Dad was transferred to Hazelwood from hospital in May 2022 initially for assessment of his dementia and his ability to still live in his own home with care. It was decided in Dad's best interests that he stay within the care home environment. After his initial upset at not being able to go home he settled
really quickly and it became obvious to us as a family that the loving care of everyone at Hazelwood was having a positive effect on Dad's wellbeing, suffice to say he has flourished in the environment or happiness, multiple activities, friends and all round good care. I would like to express my gratitude to all Hazelwood staff for their exemplary care of my Dad and for giving him a new lease on life at the age of almost 90! To anyone considering the minefield of moving a loved one into care I can only say in my opinion Hazelwood gives the highest quality of care,respect and friendship to all its residents and I'm thankful my Dad lives there.

I am very pleased with the service and care I am receiving here. I have been here for 10 months and find the staff very helpful and friendly all the time. The food is very good and there is plenty of it. I like this home very much, and would recommend it to anybody.

My mother came to Hazelwood from hospital in 2021 and I was very impressed from the start with the standard. When told in 2022 my husband was being sent to a care home for assessment I ask for Hazelwood. The manager and staff are friendly and very approachable, food and cleanliness are excellent. When
making heartbreaking decisions for my husband it has to feel right and I feel that I made the right choice in choosing Hazelwood.

I would like to express my thanks to all the staff Hazelwood Care Home for their care towards my mum in the last two years. She arrived at Hazelwood Care Home very poorly and due to the staff going above and beyond their work. She was nursed back to health joining in with activities and socialising
with the other residents. It has also been a very testing time due to Covid but the staff have been excellent all through. Again I can't thank you enough it gave me peace of mind to know that she was being so extremely well cared for.

Having worked in countless terrible care homes, I was extremely anxious about finding one for my own grandad. However, immediately on our first visit I knew that we had found the perfect place.
Hazelwood Care Home has exceeded our expectations. It’s modern and clean, yet homely with impressive facilities.
All the staff are friendly and extremely helpful. It’s clear that they genuinely care about the residents, and go above and beyond to meet their needs.
The manager is a beacon of professionalism, dedicated to ensuring that the residents and their relatives are well accommodated.
When my grandad arrived he was very poorly, but quickly settled in and is now not only comfortable and stable but putting weight back on and is his old happy self again. We are kept up to date with everything and can rest assured that he’s safe and well looked after.
I cannot recommend Hazelwood highly enough. It’s an outstanding care home, setting an exemplary standard for all others.

The care Mum received at Hazelwood was exemplary. All the staff seemed to get to know her, and as far as possible, understand her likes and dislikes. Her engagement was encouraged, and to some extent, thrived. Her last few days were calm, peaceful and expertly managed. The day and evening teams worked
seamlessly to help Mum and us through the most difficult of times. The care, compassion and professionalism were of the very highest quality.

Unfortunately my father became very unwell and needed specialist nursing care following a severe illness. Myself and my family started the difficult journey of finding a nursing home that we felt would meet his needs and be a safe and comfortable environment for him. As soon as we visited Hazelwood
Care Home we knew that this was the right environment for him. The time and attention we received from staff at the very beginning of my dad's journey demonstrated to us as a family that this home had the right values we were looking for and we were never disappointed. The manager knows and understands all of his residents and struck up a deeply respectful relationship with our dad which we know helped him immensely during a difficult time for him. The staff went out of their way to keep him safe and happy, made him laugh and were there for him when he was struggling. They truly cared for our dad and were a great support for our mother which we will never forget and be forever grateful for. Thank you all.

My sisters and I became overwhelmed by the level of care our mother needed last summer and had to admit we could no longer look after her at home. Mum had advanced vascular dementia and had developed issues with her mobility. We consider ourselves very fortunate to have found Hazelwood Care Home and
its skilled and dedicated staff for whom nothing was too much trouble.
The staff looked after Mum with total respect for her dignity and jollied her along with good humour and total dedication. Who cares if, on occasion, she was wearing a random pair of slippers!
When the end came the staff not only looked after mum but also supported us. They eased us through that final journey and we will be forever grateful.

I’ve had the privilege of managing care homes for 25 years, overseeing a range of care types including residential, nursing, dementia, mental health, palliative, complex, and learning disabilities care.


It’s an honour to care for residents at Hazelwood and support both their families and my dedicated staff team. Before becoming a Home Manager, I worked in various roles supporting vulnerable people and families. I take great pride in ensuring our residents receive high-quality care. Continuous learning and teamwork are essential in our field, and we strive to work together to provide the best possible care for your loved ones.


I’m proud to lead the team at Hazelwood and grateful for the ongoing support from residents, families, and professionals. I look forward to the many great moments ahead.

Anca has worked at Hazelwood as a Registered Nurse for just under 4 years and is now also our deputy manager. Hina has been a member of staff at Hazelwood for 18 years and has previously worked in hospitals and other care home. To Hina, Hazelwood feels at home and she does her job because she loves looking after elderly people. Hina misses her parents and so it feels good to do something for elderly people.

Marlin has been a Registered Nurse at Hazelwood Care Home since 2021 having worked as a nurse in India for a year, as well as previously studying for a Master’s degree and working part-time as a care assistant in Ireland for 3 years. Marlin really enjoys interacting with the residents, ensuring they are well taken care of, and working with the great team of staff at Hazelwood.

She is a qualified medical Nurse in India and also has experience as a Dental Nurse and Administrator. Looking after our residents and seeing the big smiles on their faces is Veenu’s favourite part of her role here.

When he first started working at Hazelwood, he was a Cleaner and Kitchen Assistant, however, when the role of Maintenance came up he felt it was perfect for him as he enjoys practical work and fixing things. Wilfredo is very happy in his job role as he is doing what he enjoys, t is very interesting, and every day is different. Wilfredo also likes working at Hazelwood as the Manager is supportive, and the staff is friendly.

Rebecca joined the team at Hazelwood Care Home in 2022 as our Activities Coordinator and has brought with her a wealth of experience having previously worked in a variety of roles including a Graphic Designer, Librarian, Yoga Teacher, and Pilates Teacher. What Rebecca loves most about her role is providing activities and experiences to residents that ensure they are happy and stimulated, and seeing their progress and joy on a daily basis.

Before moving to the UK and working at Hazelwood, Roxana worked in Spain doing several cleaning jobs and factory work. She then started working at Hazelwood in 2012 as a Cleaning/Kitchen Assistant before working in the Laundry. Roxana really enjoys her work; the pace of work suits her as I like to keep busy and the staff and management are all friendly and the home is very welcoming.

Laijesh has worked at Hazelwood for 7 ½ years and prior to this worked in factories and supermarkets. Laijesh started at Hazelwood in a domestic role, then as a kitchen assistant before progressing to the role of Cook. Laijesh likes his role as a Cook because he enjoys cooking and preparing food for people, and he likes Hazelwood because the staff is friendly and supportive.
