A lovely, friendly, caring home in glorious grounds. Nothing is too much trouble and the staff have gone out of their way to accommodate my husband who can be a difficult patient. The home manager has always made time for me when I have a query or question and there is always a cup of tea available.
I am so thankful that my husband is in a happy environment where he is encouraged to thrive.

The staff are so friendly, and helpful. My friend has been a resident for a few months. The property is clean and tidy, hygiene is immaculate. The residents have ladies who do the entertaining with them, for example bingo. The staff cannot do enough for you.

A beautiful facility with a host of great carers and nurses who are always on hand to either assist or just ready with a cheery word. The room is large and comfortable which we could fully personalise for dad. There are daily activities and residents are encouraged to participate. Dad is very happy
there. He never has a bad word to say even if he does forget where he is. He has total freedom to wander the house or grounds and we feel relaxed knowing that someone is keeping theirs eyes on him. The staff are always open to suggestions or alterations in dad's car plan. The lounges are huge and lovely. You can sit alone and quietly or with others. There is so much space!

Incredible personalised care and support for my mum who has dementia and gets very anxious. Staff really pay attention to her emotional welfare alongside great practical support and care for her physical needs. Always very welcoming and hospitable when I, and other members of the family, visit. And

Since moving to Iden Manor my sister in law has been welcomed and treated with respect and dignity as well as care and compassion. Having left her last care home because they told us they could no longer care for her, she has found it quite hard to adjust to her new surroundings and the fact that it
is a bigger home, with more people needing care. The manager is always on hand to answer any queries that we may have and has been and continues to be a great support to both the family and my sister-in-law in what has been a traumatic few months for all concerned. The staff are friendly caring and compassionate and they try to cater for all needs which in a larger home is difficult to achieve. The home is always clean and tidy and the rooms are lovely with beautiful aspects from their many windows. We all feel very fortunate that we found Iden Manor and that they had space at a time when we needed it and in time we hope that my sister-in-law will be happy and content there.

My sister came to Iden Manor in December 2023, and the manager and staff have been very attentive and helpful in making her settling-in months as smooth as possible. I feel that my sister is treated in every way as a person with particular needs and quirks. Every concern and suggestion made by myself
and my sister's husband are not just listened to, but acted upon, from the furnishings and arrangements of her room to her needs for personal care and monitoring. Several months on, I am grateful to be experiencing a new peace of mind regarding my sister's well-being. Iden Manor provides a really home-like setting for its residents as well as a social environment that my sister can participate in or withdraw from as her mood and wellness each day allow.

Took Mum a while to settle in, but she now sees it as home, and the added touches of the snack bar, tea and coffee whenever, and the beautiful gardens have really helped. All the staff seem amazing particularly one lady who really helped her settle.

So welcoming and friendly. A very calm atmosphere. I'm very happy with where my mum is residing. My mum was clean and well dressed with her hair all neat and tidy. Was offered a cup of tea and biscuit.

I was transferred from hospital, following sepsis, for assessment before returning home. From my first contact with the manager when I was looking for a respite placement for my mother-in-law I found responses to be quick and informative. Needs changed quickly and instead of looking for a 2-week respite placement, I was changing to CHC-funded end-of-life care. Iden Manor accommodated this
with no difficulty and my mother-in-law moved in. The staff were all very welcoming, extremely caring and very respectful of my mother-in-law's dignity at all times. They made family very welcome and we were able to come and go at any time of the day or night. They offered great support to family members by offering them food and even making up a bed on one occasion for us. I was involved in the care plan and my input was valued and acted on. Whilst our ideal would have been for my mother-in-law to remain at home this was not feasible but we found that Iden Manor provided the very best of care right up until the end. Words do not truly convey our gratitude to all the staff on the Good Shepherd unit, you are amazing people.

The care given to my husband during the last weeks and days of his life was good-humoured, patient, watchful and unfailingly kind. My brother has been resident for 22 months. I visit him regularly and have always received a friendly welcome from staff. Iden Manor always looks and smells clean and fresh and the residents present as well cared for and content. On a one to one basis I am so pleased that my brother is being treated
with dignity and kindness. Staff also seem to be well trained in understanding how dementia affects residents, like my brother, responding with extreme kindness when he is confused or anxious.
It is such a relief to see that my brother now receives appropriate care both physically and emotionally. Over the last two years the staff have had the huge challenges of Covid outbreaks as well as cuts in water supply. Through all this, I’ve only ever seen staff staying calm and not panicking. It is a lovely residential home all round.

Mum has been in Iden Manor since July 2021. Her care throughout this time has been excellent. She waxes lyrical about how wonderful everyone is, how the food is superb (she’s gone up 3 dress sizes since moving in!) and how much she loves living there. There are very regular activities including a lot
of visiting entertainers. There really is something for everyone. The attention to detail is great, birthdays are always celebrated with cakes, banners etc. Mum's party for her 90th was wonderful.

Overall, I think the care home is very good but am concerned that on a number of occasions, the lounge is left unsupervised which I have mentioned once before.
Being a regular visitor each week, this has become quite noticeable. Although on some occasions, the duty nurse is there, they usually have
their head down doing their own work.
It would be good for residents to be offered cut-up, fresh fruit in the afternoon, not necessarily every day, as an alternative to cake. It is not possible for my relative to bite into a piece of fruit which could well be the case for others.
Those who cannot stand up and walk to the cart need to be asked if they would like anything periodically during the day.
Majority of staff are very good and spend some time chatting to some residents.

Thank you so much for your feedback, it is always with this that we can continue to grow further in ensuring true person-focused interventions. I am sorry you are finding the lounge unsupervised, as you will be aware, we have many lounges, with our high dependency lounge always having at least one staff member but usually two to three, ensuring the safe well-being of residents ensuring continuous supervision. However, our Grand Hall, Regency and Orangery have staff present who move between the areas to support and tend to needs, as our residents in these areas do not require constant supervision. As you mention, the nurse is often present also. I'm ever so sorry if this message has not been clearly communicated, I will add to the agenda for the relatives meeting.
Fruit is always a great snack and available throughout the day. We are very excited that our new kitchenette area is enabling easy access for all staff, residents and visitors to drinks and a variety of snacks any time, day or night.

My aunt has been living at Iden Manor Nursing Home since mid-January 2023. She has settled in brilliantly and loves the setting and the staff. She has really gained confidence since going into Iden and is very content and happy. The staff are always cheerful and helpful and there's a real sense of community
and family within the home. Her only complaint is that there's not much in the way of religious worship at Iden, which is very important to my aunt.

“I am very excited to be given the opportunity to lead the fabulous team within the magnificent home and grounds of Iden Manor. I was initially drawn to the home, in the role of quality assurance manager by the splendor of the surroundings, the person focused values of the owner, but have since come to truly respect and admire the care, support and affection the team share with the residents and relatives within the home. It is so wonderful to be part of a team who care about our residents, not just for them.
I, have been within the care industry since I was a young 18yr old girl, working as a healthcare worker in a nursing home, and shortly after commencing my mental health nurse training. I have always been passionate that the care and support that I offer is the best it can possibly be, and thus have continued to gain a breadth of experience in many different areas of health and social care, including obtaining MScs in both mental health and social work, and managing health and social care, and continued to also teach within both NHS and private care settings. Supporting people in need is such a privilege and one of the most rewarding jobs, challenging at times yes, but immensely rewarding. I too have travelled the journey with my mother when she was diagnosed with dementia, and I am fully understanding and empathetic as to the emotions, challenges and worries that are associated with having others caring for someone so precious. That is why I am so pleased to be with a team whom I am proud to say can deliver that caring, effective, responsive safe and loving environment we all want.”
