A lovely clean and homely environment. The matron and her staff are always friendly and happy to help. My mother always looks clean and tidy. Good wholesome food and plenty of it! Haven't visited as much due to covid, but when I have my mother looks well.

Overall we are happy with the care our relative receives. Our experience has been entirely through the coronavirus pandemic and so that has added significant difficulties (which Ami Court has coped with well). My only concern would be about communication. Lack of website or printed material/brochure;
and contact re financial information.

Reply from A Patel, Manager at Ami Group - The Knoll Unit and Ami Court Unit

Thank you for your review and we are pleased to hear that you are happy with the care your relative receives at Ami Court. We understand things have been difficult during the Covid-19 pandemic and appreciate the support and understanding shown by all families and friends, in keeping our residents safe. We are sorry to hear that you have had concerns regarding communication; our home has an open and transparent policy and we have multiple media platforms available, such as our website and Facebook page (details available from our staff) and leaflets/activities planners displayed in our lobby, which is regularly updated. We encourage all families and friends to call or email and speak to the management team for any questions.

My husband was only in Ami Court for 2 weeks when he was discharged from hospital. He passed away on 10th May 2021. I was very pleased with the way he was treated for that short period of time. So I am limited on the answers I can give as because of covid restrictions, could only have a visit through
the french doors.

My father was with AMI Court for a short while after being fast-track discharged from hospital following a poor experience with another care provider. AMI Court was an absolute revelation. Their assistance with the discharge process, open, honest and resident centred care. The dialogue was much appreciated.
This coupled with excellent visiting access was very much a comfort for the family.

I have nothing but admiration for the care home staff. They treat my mother with respect and dignity. I live a long way from the care home but I know I can ring and speak to them and my mother whenever I want. They are always cheerful and extremely helpful and kind.
My mother is lucky to be there.

Ami Court have been brilliant right from the start. It was recommended to me by two people. I rang feeling tearful and anxious, but the lady I spoke to made me feel completely at ease. Three months on, both Mum and I laugh and smile again. The home is amazing, thanks to the wonderful, happy management
and staff. Nothing is too much trouble. They have given us both a new lease of life. Keep up the good work.

This nursing home is second to none. You can see on your arrival how lovely it is kept and to a very high standard. The residents are treated with respect and dignity and are so happy. This is down to the management and their staff who are so professional, caring and helpful.

Dad was determined by the hospital to be end of life after contracting Covid in January 2021. Ami Court took him in and provided outstanding care to him, looking after him 24/7. The lovely staff were like a group of angels, every one of them treating him in a gentle, kind and respectful manner. After
his 2-week isolation, he was taken to the lounge to join the other residents and seems to really enjoy himself. He has become stronger, sociable and is so well looked after. He celebrated his 87th birthday on 6 March, a day we never thought we would get to, and the staff provided him with a lovely day. Last week, St Patricks Day celebrations were provided and videos sent of him enjoying himself. I am so pleased that he went to Ami Court. I have no doubt that he wouldn't be with us today without their loving care. Nothing is too much trouble and, even though I telephone every day and visit as much as I can book in, I have never felt a nuisance.

My experience of Ami Court is that the staff are extremely caring and thoughtful. They have been remarkable during the coronavirus pandemic, they are honest and sympathetic. They are proactive and always thinking of the patient. I have nothing but praise for them, they are outstanding.

Very caring and attentive staff. Made a big difference to the quality of our elderly friend's final phase of life. Hygiene, personal support and commitment to giving him the best opportunities can not be undervalued.

My Uncle seems quite settled and happier since he got his own room. During the "coronavirus" times I personally would have appreciated more contact (communication) to let me know the latest about visits etc, but I do appreciate the home have done their best to provide a facility for visits. Thank you.

My mum caught covid 19 whilst in hospital after falling at home and fracturing her hip, pelvis and arm, she survived covid but came out the other side with brain damage and phycosis. The hospital sent Mum to Ami Court and she was in a bad way. When she was first admitted she was in isolation for 14
days as a precaution seeing she came straight from hospital, I dropped her suitcase at reception where I had a chat with a member of staff who came across as very pleasant and friendly who told me how mum was, I was encouraged to ring every day if I wanted to so I could find out how mum was, I have been ringing most days and every single member of staff are more than happy to answer my questions and tell me about mums day, I'm never made to feel a nuicance for phoning. On the odd occasion where Mum has had a self destructive episode or has self harmed I am phoned and informed straight away, I have nothing but praise for Ami Court and would recommend it to anyone.

My aunt was admitted to Ami Court on discharge from hospital for end of life care. Whilst there, she received friendly, gentle and very patient assistance from the staff, despite her being quite a challenging character. Whenever she asked us to speak with the members of staff, they were invariably polite
and attentive, really listened to what we were saying and highly responsive.
As my aunt's health failed, we were informed promptly so that we could come and say our goodbyes. We stayed most of the day and were given lunch (which was delicious).
Whenever my aunt was agitated or in need of medication, staff were on hand to soothe and look after her, maintaining her dignity at all times. I think that my aunt had the best care in the circumstances and I'm very glad that she was admitted to Ami Court. I would like to thank everyone at Ami Court for everything that they did to look after my aunt and make her comfortable.

Current Review Score: 8.5 (8.504)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.5 (8.504) out of 10 for Ami Group - The Knoll Unit and Ami Court Unit is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 4 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.7 out of 5 from 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.830 for Ami Group - The Knoll Unit and Ami Court Unit is calculated as follows: ( (40 Excellents x 5) + (6 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 47 Ratings = 4.83

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.674 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Ami Group - The Knoll Unit and Ami Court Unit is based on 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.375

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 67 registered maximum number of service users is 13.4. 4 Positive Reviews ÷ 13.4 = 0.299

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
