The Miramar Care Home in Kent enjoys the perfect location on Herne Bay's panoramic seafront with beautiful sea views and offers quality award-winning care in luxurious surroundings. The team at the Miramar offer a warm welcome to all.

Couples and companions are warmly welcomed to the home where their well-being, comfort, and happiness are top priority.

Miramar is a purpose-built care home with a variety of apartments including independent living apartments, offering exceptional accommodation which is affordable and is of a very high standard. The home offers, residential, respite and dementia care.

The home is far from typical and offers a variety of different options including a cosy en-suite studio, one and two-bedroom apartments, which have a separate lounge and kitchen with a full en-suite wet room. It is unique as it offers double the space of most care homes and is ideal for those wanting extra room or couples who want to stay together. Apartments come unfurnished allowing residents to bring those special pieces of their home with them.

Life at the Miramar is all about making it feel like home. Facilities include a beautifully landscaped garden, four lounges to relax in, including a coastal lounge with stunning sea views and a comfy coffee lounge, ideal for visiting families. Residents can also catch a film in Mirarmar's very own cinema room.

The home has a licensed restaurant with a menu being dictated by current residents. There is also an extensive range of activities which provides trips out, visiting speakers, one-to-one, with all activities again being chosen by the home's own resident committee.

Residents at the home can also indulge in having their nails and hair done in the dedicated hair salon & spa room.

It is so reassuring to know that our beloved mum is so well looked after at Miramar Care Home. As soon as we arrive the reception team are so welcoming and know all the residents very well. The catering team take the time to chat with everyone and seem to know dietary preferences without referring to
a list. There's an extensive range of menus and it's beautifully cooked. Extra care is taken when laying the tables to make meals special. The activity team bring such energy and creativity to their work ensuring there's something fun for everyone.
The care team who look after Mum are simply brilliant. They have certainly found their vocation as they are all so caring, thoughtful and patient. They speak to residents as they would a valued friend and have a great connection with the diverse range of personalities. We were just amazed how they supported Mum when she returned from hospital and was very ill. We can't praise or thank them enough.

I am delighted with the care that my wife receives. All of the staff understand her dementia and show kindness in all aspects of her life at Miramar. Also, they support the family in a very positive way having established a good relationship.

It was my uncle's 85th birthday and the head chef made the most beautiful cake for him. Uncle had 7 family members and the head chef provided a beautiful buffet. The family were absolutely amazed at how the event was set up. The food was stunning. We were all looked after so well by all the staff at
the home and this made his day so special.

Friendly and caring staff. The care home is clean and well looked after. My friend speaks highly of everyone although says there is never enough staff. I am also told communication between staff is not always very good, especially when there is an issue. Other than that they are very happy there and
comfortable and looked after, classes it as home.

Mum is well looked after and seems happy and settled. She enjoys the food and the activities and trips which are on offer. Staff were particularly helpful in getting her ready to leave early one morning for an operation. The receptionists are very friendly and helpful. There have been occasional communication
problems, both in terms of managers being passed on and financial arrangements.

Mum seems comfortable but as dementia progresses she has difficulty expressing herself. However, she is always clean and well-dressed and enjoys the food, has made friends and appears happy when I visit. Mum is encouraged to join in with activities and tries to participate wherever possible. The team
of carers are all more than happy to assist with her needs.

It has been a very warm welcome. My ninety-five year old mother was anxious about coming into a care home but her fears were allayed straight away. The care home is clean, spacious, well decorated and obviously, well run.

We contacted Miramar Care Home at very short notice as my 95-year-old mother-in-law needed to be discharged from the hospital. I was able to get the information I needed swiftly and my mother-in-law was admitted within 48 hours. Communication is good and I was able to check in regarding y mother-in-law
if unable to visit. The home is a cut above others I have visited from the rooms, food and activities to, most importantly, the staff who have cared for her.

Excellent facilities. Very welcoming, fantastic staff. My father has settled in very well, made lots of friends and seems very happy. The food is excellent. Reminds us of a five-star hotel.

I felt very welcomed and like that it is all first-name terms. I think there could be more visual aids for residents with dementia such as clocks in the dining room and lounge, and calendars.
The food is good and the staff excellent.
The laundry service is very good.
Overall, I am very satisfied

Staff are very helpful and kind. My mother clearly likes and trusts them. I have had a lot of contact by phone, as in-person visits have only just started. I am always rung back when I ask for updates, and the information I receive is comprehensive and sensitively given.

In very difficult circumstances, both Mum and Dad (until he passed away in November 2020) have been very well cared for here. I have nothing but gratitude for the care and attention received by them. Specially compassionate over the time of Dads death.
