The Miramar Care Home in Kent enjoys the perfect location on Herne Bay's panoramic seafront with beautiful sea views and offers quality award-winning care in luxurious surroundings. The team at the Miramar offer a warm welcome to all.

Couples and companions are warmly welcomed to the home where their well-being, comfort, and happiness are top priority.

Miramar is a purpose-built care home with a variety of apartments including independent living apartments, offering exceptional accommodation which is affordable and is of a very high standard. The home offers, residential, respite and dementia care.

The home is far from typical and offers a variety of different options including a cosy en-suite studio, one and two-bedroom apartments, which have a separate lounge and kitchen with a full en-suite wet room. It is unique as it offers double the space of most care homes and is ideal for those wanting extra room or couples who want to stay together. Apartments come unfurnished allowing residents to bring those special pieces of their home with them.

Life at the Miramar is all about making it feel like home. Facilities include a beautifully landscaped garden, four lounges to relax in, including a coastal lounge with stunning sea views and a comfy coffee lounge, ideal for visiting families. Residents can also catch a film in Mirarmar's very own cinema room.

The home has a licensed restaurant with a menu being dictated by current residents. There is also an extensive range of activities which provides trips out, visiting speakers, one-to-one, with all activities again being chosen by the home's own resident committee.

Residents at the home can also indulge in having their nails and hair done in the dedicated hair salon & spa room.

At the end of October, it was necessary for my husband and myself to have a place to stay whilst our House was being repaired. Our son came up with the name of the Miramar Care Home, which was near there and our home. He arranged for us to have a visit to get a view of the care home and this was arranged
we were shown around the whole building and arranged a 2-week stay ending on 11th November.

On the whole, I am delighted by the care and treatment from the care home over recent months since I became a resident. I have settled in fairly well on the whole and I am comfortable. It makes a lot of difference with my family coming to see me when they can and it is good to go out and about when
possible. It is good to see family and friends coming to visit so I do not feel cut off.

This home has many good and caring staff but it has some issues that cannot be ignored. My sister has experienced issues with call bell delays in being answered and also finds the food is not to her taste, in fact, many residents say the same. The home was taken over by Avery around a year ago and
they have put in temporary manager to address issues. It may get better as time passes but at this time there is a lack of atmosphere and indeed a lack of residents. If this home is on your list, look carefully, ask lots of questions and satisfy yourself that this is right for you. We all want the best for our relatives.

My very first visit to see my step-sister could not have gone any better as I could not have seen her looking more comfortable in her surroundings and taking away all my anxieties as to how she would accept her new surroundings. She said how well she was looked after and I can only say how kind all

The Avery take over has been positive.

Our mum moved into Miramar Signature in January 2018 and all was fine until Avery Health took over. We felt, as a family, the management extremely poor and never enough staff to tend to the nursing unit where our mum was a resident. CQC has been involved along with safeguarding after many complaints
from staff and ourselves. Then we’re told in March they were evicting all nursing residents and new homes had to be found by the 26th April 2019. Even though a big issue for our Mum to be moved we feel that she is safer and will be well looked after and we can go home knowing mum is in good hands and not have to worry anymore. Family left very dissatisfied with Avery Health at the Miramar.

My mother had to be moved from her last care home and we chose this one after looking at more than 5 others in the local area. The staff are friendly, welcoming and very caring. The room is clean and the menu is lovely. My mother has improved and now gets up every day to participate in activities and

The staff at Signature Miramar Herne Bay have been of great assistance in providing a seamless transition from independent living to residential care for my eighty-nine-year-old mother.
From initial contact to settling in to care home life they have shown great empathy for my elderly mother and I
feel very reassured she is benefiting from good nursing care and a diverse range of activities provided by the home, together with excellent food.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Signature Miramar.

My father has been a resident in the Cyprus Suite for 6 months. He was admitted with severe vascular dementia but over this period his overall health and wellbeing has improved. The staff are kind, professional, caring, attentive and treat him as though he was their own relative. Nothing is too much
trouble for them. He is encouraged to join in the daily activities and has been on several trips out. He is very happy there. Both staff and management have been extremely welcoming, caring and helpful to us in what has been a difficult time. The overall atmosphere in the care home is excellent and I would highly recommend the Signature Miramar.

My mother spent 4 weeks in the Miramar recovering from a hospital visit. The staff are professional, helpful, caring, attentive and are genuinely interested in the person they are caring for. This is extended to any family/friends that visit. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The entertainment is
fantastic and I would highly recommend Signature Miramar.

My late husband spent the last 5 years at the Miramar. I couldn't have asked for better care for him. All the staff were wonderful, so patient on the difficult days. The staff were so caring for all of us as a family too. I will always be grateful for the support and genuine kindness shown especially

My parents have been residents for a little over a year and have received good care. Any issues I have had have been dealt with swiftly especially in more recent times. The accommodation is is of a high standard and the staff are friendly and approachable.

My father and his wife have been at the Signature Miramar for approx 3 months and I am very pleased with the care they are receiving. They are finding it a little difficult to adjust to the change but I am confident they will settle in.


The staff treat them with respect and compassion and seem to

be genuinely interested in their well-being, they are encouraged to take part in activities. The food is very good and varied. The building is modern, clean and fresh. The apartments are spacious and pleasant to be in. I have no complaints.

A recently trained nurse has expanded her role to incorporate massages for residents. She has been treating me several times so far and I find it very beneficial and relaxing. She is very professional in her approach and very caring.
