Miramar is a purpose-built care home with a variety of apartments including independent living apartments, offering exceptional accommodation which is affordable and is of a very high standard. The home offers, residential, respite and dementia care.

The home is far from typical and offers a variety of different options including a cosy en-suite studio, one and two-bedroom apartments, which have a separate lounge and kitchen with a full en-suite wet room. It is unique as it offers double the space of most care homes and is ideal for those wanting extra room or couples who want to stay together. Apartments come unfurnished allowing residents to bring those special pieces of their home with them.

Life at the Miramar is all about making it feel like home. Facilities include a beautifully landscaped garden, four lounges to relax in, including a coastal lounge with stunning sea views and a comfy coffee lounge, ideal for visiting families. Residents can also catch a film in Mirarmar's very own cinema room.

The home has a licensed restaurant with a menu being dictated by current residents. There is also an extensive range of activities which provides trips out, visiting speakers, one-to-one, with all activities again being chosen by the home's own resident committee.

Residents at the home can also indulge in having their nails and hair done in the dedicated hair salon & spa room.

My friend has been a resident in the Signature Miramar Herne Bay for over 5 years now, most of which has been in spent in Cyprus Ward, which is a secure ward where residents with varying degrees of dementia reside. I am a close friend of the resident in question as well as having power of attorney over
his affairs and I visit him at least once or twice a week.
I can, in all honesty, say that in all the time my friend has been in this care home, I have had no reason to complain at all. The service offered is first-rate, the staff are friendly and evidently very caring. My friend's physical wellbeing is clearly paramount to the staff but so too is his mental and emotional wellbeing, and to this end, the staff frequently try to involve him in one or more of the many organised in-house activities.
I am always kept informed by telephone of any problems regarding my friend's health or wellbeing, for which I am grateful.
I have nothing but the highest praise for this particular care home.

Cannot thank the staff enough for the fantastic care she received for her short but extremely happy stay.
Nothing was too much trouble and every member of staff involved in her care and support were so friendly, but at the same time so professional.
A particularly noticeable feature was that the staff
themselves treated my mother as though she was their own, and at her life's end, it was so touching to see them visibly affected, despite dealing with life's end being an obvious part of their duties.
A very big thank you in particular to the client liaison manager whose efficiency and professionalism ensured mum's easy transition from hospital (with its inevitable hurdles to jump ) to the Miramar-again nothing was too much trouble and her last few weeks of life were so peaceful and happy.
Having experienced on a daily basis the way the Miramar is run it would be the place should I need care that I would wish to retire to.

I generally find my attendant kindly and efficient. Since I am 91 years old, I sometimes find manners a little different from that to which I am accustomed, but no doubt some of the staff find mine rather different from theirs as well.
However, my genuine requests are usually dealt with exceptionally,
I am never made to feel that I am being unreasonable.
The home is always comfortably warm and the grounds are well kept and safe for elderly people to wonder about. At least as well as I kept my own garden.

I have lived at Signature Miramar 2 1/2 years and find it comfortable, friendly and well run. The care team and nurses are efficient and kindly and available 24/7. Residents meetings are held 3 times monthly - general management, food and beverages and activities and discussions take place with the
management team. The restaurant is pleasant, the staff are helpful and the three cooked meals are varied and with a good choice on the menu for each course. There are daily activities of a very varied type and trips are arranged using the Signature Miramar mini bus. I am happy here and consider myself fortunate to be a resident.

Overall very good care home. The staff are very helpful and kind. The downside sometimes long waits to get up in the morning and to go back to your room after breakfast.

I am very grateful to be a resident at the Miramar. The care shown to everyone by everyone on the staff is first class. It is a happy home in all respects. The food sometimes lets it down a bit e.g soups used to be home made now made with powder and often very thin that is my only criticism. We are
encouraged to take part in as many physical activities as we are capable of, Yoga, Taichi, walks around the garden, and longer walks along the cliffs. The activities staff are excellent, offer a choice of activities to keep our minds active, quizzes, music craft, art class every week and trip out on the mini bus. The home is always clean and the carers always there when you want help. Altogether a good home.

A care home offering assisted living with a scale able support package for people to live independently behind their own front door in good quality accommodation by the sea. The service is at the top end of the market promising 5 star luxury. We used the service for respite care which did not live up
to expectation as it was let down by poor team communication, between nursing and care staff. The quality of care and support varies depending on which team of staff were on duty and the model is far more intrusive than clients are led to believe - front door frequently opened and left open by staff doing 2 hourly checks during the night. The experience for my mother was not a positive one so we terminated her stay early at her request.

We appreciate that not everyone feels that they have had a perfect experience every time but coming in to a care home for the first time can take some getting use to and acclimatising to the environment and staff. A few days for some people to settle is not long enough, building good relationships between care staff and new residents can take time. As shown within the many received reviews we endeavour daily to ensure our residents are wonderfully cared for and receive the highest quality care.

The Miramar is my home! It is a Happy Home, and I (of very sound mind!) chose that my wife and I would spend the rest of our lives here!
I could not wish for a nicer place to live, nor a more caring staff to look after my wife and others who require help. The management team deserve plaudits for their
caring leadership and the excellent training they give to their staff.
My wife and I feel most fortunate to have found this "Home", which we now call our own!

I have been a resident for seven months needing as little care as possible, although I appreciate I am deteriorating weekly. I enjoy the activities and outings very much. The food is excellent although I feel there is rather too much cakes, biscuits, ice-cream etc, but that is just me and I know it
is very much appreciated by others. I am very content to spend the rest of my days here if I can afford it.
