The staff, carers, cleaners and reception are brilliant. The staff member on reception, and many other staff whom are in the home are fabulous. I would not hesitate in recommending.

I have been so impressed by the facilities and care provided for my dad and noticed an improvement in his general well-being almost immediately. Mum has been a resident at Winchester House for 9 months now and I can honestly say the care she has received from the very first day has been excellent. Mum was moved here from hospital on Christmas Eve last year. I am her only child and had been her carer 7 days a week for the past 18 years, so the
whole situation of not looking after her anymore was very upsetting, but the staff have been very loving and supportive to Mum and myself. Mum has advanced mixed dementia and is bedbound and her care needs are being met above and beyond. Everyone is so friendly and kind, from the time you step through the front door and nothing is too much trouble. I would highly recommend anyone who is looking for a care home to come and see Winchester House.

On arrival I was made to feel extremely welcome and cared for by all members of staff. My family felt the same level of welcome too. My room is comfortable and I can call on staff for assistance any time, which is very reassuring. We are all made to feel that this is our home. there are many activities

Cannot speak highly enough about this care home. We visited many homes while my father was in hospital and this was way beyond any other, so he moved in straight from hospital. He was in an incredibly poor state, but after several weeks of the most fantastic care, we could not believe how well he became,
both physically and mentally. The staff truly went above and beyond to provide the very best care he could ever wish for. From being in hospital on end-of-life care, he is now enjoying life at Winchester House as independently as he is able. My sister had also been a resident for a few years with multiple sclerosis and again the care and love was fantastic, she sadly passed away there, but was surrounded by love from every staff member. I cannot fault any member of staff, every single one has a smile on their face for residents and visitors.

I came here for two weeks' respite care immediately after a hip replacement. I was very pleasantly surprised. No fierce matrons here but thoughtful care far beyond what I expected. There was a happy, positive atmosphere in my unit among both day and night staff. I, myself, benefitted from respectful,
cheerful and effective attention from every member of staff I encountered. To give one example of the help I experienced one afternoon soon after I arrived, I started off on a walk with my Zimmer frame. I was just starting to feel a bit weary when a member of staff noticed me and without being asked went and fetched a special cushion from my room so that I could sit down and rest.
From my brief visit, I got the impression that all the residents benefitted from very kind and flexible care. The accommodation was pleasant, appropriately equipped and properly maintained.

Dad was at the care home for respite, I was very unsure about how dad would respond to a care home stay. The staff made dad and the family feel at home straight away. The staff got dad eating and drinking and encouraged him to use a walker. I didn't think he would walk again. Thank you so much for all

Notwithstanding the fact that I would much rather be able to care for my mother at home, I am simply unable to do so. I am generally happy with the care and support that she currently receives. It is reassuring to know that the relevant qualified people are on hand when Mum needs them. My only slight
negative observation up to now is that her room could at times be cleaner/tidier.

Difficult start through confusion and urine infection. My husband became aggressive, but the staff gradually got to know him, and things got a lot better, and we, as a family, became more comfortable about placing him in their care. He has now settled in. Sometimes find his clothes missing, even with
clearly labelled clothes. I believe he is now well cared for, and the staff are very considerate of his needs. I believe he is now quite happy there.

I was upset and distraught at having to see my husband go into a care home, but as soon as we viewed Winchester House I knew I was leaving him in the care of a safe, family-friendly and welcoming environment. The staff are all so caring and treat each individual as their personal relative. After just

My dad was not ready to return home following a hospital admission so my husband and I visited Barchester Winchester House Care Centre and were shown the accommodation and facilities by charming, welcoming staff who gave a "nothing is too much trouble" impression.
Our first impression was excellent
and that first impression was upheld as Winchester House welcomed my dad and offered a perfect home from home experience.
My father had multiple care issues all of which were addressed and any lessons learned along the way were shared with all members of staff so that he could expect the same level of support 24/7. Sadly, he became less well and had to return to hospital but from the time of feeling unwell to making that particular journey a wonderfully kind member of the team remained with my dad to tend his needs and reassure.

It was my first experience of a nursing home for my mum. My mind was put at rest as soon as I looked around. From the reception right through to the best care and attention that mum received. Winchester House was just perfect. Communication was always fast and accurate.
All the staff showed genuine
care and empathy in what must be one of the hardest jobs.

The staff on shorts terrace show a very high level of care and compassion. Mums level of care and compassion. Mums condition is very limiting and frustrating for her, but the carers show her respect and understanding.

After almost 2 months in hospital my family found ourselves facing the need to move my Mum into a nursing home for funded end of life care. The staff that we met at Barchester Winchester House Care Gome, which we chose for proximity to the family home, were extremely helpful and put our minds at rest
particularly about how much time we would be able to spend with mum at this time of her life, whilst Covid regulations were still in place.
It was a relief to us all when mum moved to the home. After weeks of isolation in hospital, she was now surrounded by people who were able and willing to spend more time actually caring for and talking to her. The staff at Winchester House could not have been any more helpful or supportive, particularly in the very challenging days leading up to Mum passing away. Nothing was ever too much trouble.
We would not hesitate to recommend Winchester House.

Hi, my name is Liza, and I am the General Manager here at Winchester House. Welcome to our website!


I have a degree in Nursing and have been a registered nurse for about 30 years. I also have a diploma in Healthcare Leadership and Management level 5.


I came over here in 2000 from the Philippines as an overseas nurse. I have a variety of experience in supporting the young physically disabled/neuro-disability, palliative care, elderly care and dementia care. I have worked on different levels of care and management, including healthcare assistant, nurse trainee, staff nurse, unit manager and deputy manager, general manager until I became the General Manager of Winchester House in January 2020.


I have excellent leadership skills and I am very passionate in what I do. I am highly motivated and challenges interest me. I am an open, honest and approachable person.


At Winchester House, I lead the team with integrity and I motivate and empower people to embrace the change with me in achieving success and will continue to look for ways to improve the life of our residents. I always go the extra mile to ensure that residents get the best quality care we can offer.

Peter has worked for Barchester Healthcare since 2009 and has been the Head of Maintenance at Winchester House for almost as long. Hi, my name is Matt Taylor and I'm a head chef at Winchester House Care Home. Hello! My name is Joie, and I am the La Farge Unit Nurse Manager here at Winchester House. Originally from the Philippines, I earned my nursing degree there and was qualified in 2009. In the years that followed, I gained experience as both a private nurse and a nurse in an intensive care unit. In 2022, I came to the UK. My skills, knowledge and professionalism assist me greatly in my work here at Winchester House, where my responsibilities include interacting with clients and staff and delivering high-quality care to the people who live here. I enjoy leading my team by setting a positive example for them to follow. As the La Farge Unit Nurse Manager, my unwavering commitment to providing compassionate and effective care to our residents is what drives me each day. With a deep understanding of the complexities of nursing, coupled with my hands-on experience in demanding healthcare settings, I am confident in my ability to lead my team in delivering exceptional care to those who entrust us with their well-being. I began my career in healthcare in 2013,after being 8 years a primary teacher. I joined Winchester House as a Healthcare Assistant. During my time in this role, I quickly developed a passion for providing care and recognised that I could contribute more significantly to the well-being of others. Driven by the desire to expand my skills and knowledge, I made the decision to pursue a nursing career and enrolled in nursing school in 2015.


After three years of rigorous study and hands-on training, I completed my nursing qualification and returned to Winchester House in September 2018, eager to put my education into practice. Since re-joining the team, I have continually grown within the organisation, and in 2020, I was proud to be promoted to the role of Senior Nurse.


Throughout my career, I have been committed to delivering the highest standard of care, fostering a supportive environment for both staff and residents, and continuously advancing my professional development. My journey reflects my dedication to improving patient outcomes and making a positive impact on the healthcare community.

I am Myrna m Simon. I completed my bachelors of nursing in 2011 at India. I worked in India as a adult nurse in a multi-speciality hospital from 2011 to 2015. Then I worked as a dialysis nurse in Saudi MOH for 7 years. In 2022 I came to UK as a senior career. I cleared all my exams and received my NMC pin on November 2023. I got my profession back and started working as a nurse march 2024 onwards.
