Newly opened in 2024 the home boasts an additional 16 residential ensuite bedrooms with beautiful communal living and dining and the opportunity for residents and their loved ones to access a private dining space.

My grand has been in her home for a few years now and I visit once, maybe twice a month. My mum - weekly.
Apart from one carer who was abrupt with the residents (she quickly got asked to leave), I cannot fault this home in any way, shape or form. Every single member of staff gives a friendly smile
to me and more importantly to my gran and her fellow residents. My gran is safe, well looked after and and happy - she tells us she loves the people here, they are kind.

My brother was made to feel welcome, safe and comfortable into his new surroundings immediately on arrival, and this has remained during his residence. He has indicated to me he is happy in the care of Winchester House, and I am grateful for this.

Very happy with the care home. Excellent resident care, home kept very clean and well maintained. Food is excellent with plenty of choice. Management team are very accessible and pro-active.

I believe that Winchester House delivers good care in a clean and attractive environment. However I do feel that they are often under staffed and I feel that they are often so busy that they may not have the time for quality time with residents. I think that the general level of care and nursing is
very good and I think that as far as I know my mum is treated with dignity. However I think there could be more sessions and activities for people with dementia (Alzheimer's ) to help there well being rather than the television.

The delivery of our quality care is centred around the individual, their illness and abilities, and their choices and preferences. Whilst we provide a varied and extensive activity program and encourage all residents to participate, we respect the choices of those who do not wish to partake in all that is offered. For those residents who are may be too unwell to partake in group activities, the activity staff offer one to one time in their rooms. Our Head Chef and catering team take great pride in preparing and serving a healthy, nutritional menu that caters to a wide range of tastes. Should alternative options be required, they are only too happy to oblige. Our staffing levels exceed industry guidelines and are variable in accordance with the needs of our residents.

Very caring environment for end of life care for my mother. The staff are friendly and welcoming and provided good care. Good communication with the family from nursing, care and management staff.

Hi, my name is Liza, and I am the General Manager here at Winchester House. Welcome to our website!


I have a degree in Nursing and have been a registered nurse for about 30 years. I also have a diploma in Healthcare Leadership and Management level 5.


I came over here in 2000 from the Philippines as an overseas nurse. I have a variety of experience in supporting the young physically disabled/neuro-disability, palliative care, elderly care and dementia care. I have worked on different levels of care and management, including healthcare assistant, nurse trainee, staff nurse, unit manager and deputy manager, general manager until I became the General Manager of Winchester House in January 2020.


I have excellent leadership skills and I am very passionate in what I do. I am highly motivated and challenges interest me. I am an open, honest and approachable person.


At Winchester House, I lead the team with integrity and I motivate and empower people to embrace the change with me in achieving success and will continue to look for ways to improve the life of our residents. I always go the extra mile to ensure that residents get the best quality care we can offer.

Peter has worked for Barchester Healthcare since 2009 and has been the Head of Maintenance at Winchester House for almost as long. In addition to completing routine maintenance within the home, there are often special projects that need to be managed, such as equipment breaking down that requires fixing as soon as possible.
I am also responsible for fire safety within the home.

I absolutely love my job, talking to the residents, and trying to find out their likes and dislikes so I can present their food exactly the way they like it.
