My father was not in Wells House for very long but he loved it there.
He thought the staff were superb and had absolutely no complaints.
I thought they were all lovely too - caring compassionate, friendly, in fact, the whole family agreed we couldn't have found a better place for my terminally ill
dad.
Beautiful situation too.

My mother became a resident here in June 2018. This was obviously a worrying time for all of the family but the home and staff have been fantastic in helping mum settle here.
They do a variety of activities with the residents. The care they offer is excellent. The home is kept spotlessly clean, I can
definitely recommend this home.

Wells House Nursing Home is a beautiful house built by HG Wells by the sea. My mother's room has a long window that looks onto charming gardens and the sea. It is clean, well appointed with an en-suite bathroom.
My mother is here for palliative care after 9-10 years of dementia. The staff could not
be sweeter or kinder, they are very tender with her and absolutely wonderful to us. Nothing is too much trouble and we can visit when we like. I can't believe how lucky we are to have end of life care here.

Although my Mother was only at the Nursing home for just over a week she was treated with care and dignity, the care staff were very friendly and nothing was to much trouble especially the last days of my Mothers life.

Happy with the care my mother is receiving, staff are co-operative and helpful. Always ready to discuss any aspect of mother's care. Her room is always clean and when we visit she always seems content and appears to be clean and well cared for.

We can in no way fault the care Mum has received since admission on 30th May. Our initial impression of Wells House has proved more than we hoped for. Smaller than the other homes we visited suited Mum's lifestyle. We knew she would be keen to sit in the garden, but reluctant to join the activities
the staff enthusiastically encourage. One Sunday afternoon a carer took her to see the Police Band play in an open-air concert on the Folkestone Leas. Mum's condition has subsequently deteriorated but the dedicated team have proved supportive, genuinely caring and friendly. We have every confidence in the excellent care provided.

I am very happy with the way my mum is looked after. All the staff are lovely and really make me feel at ease when I visit.

I visit the home regularly and found everything is very satisfactory. The staff are friendly and very caring and I have watched them as they treat the residents which is very lovingly. They look very well after my friend and respect her all the time.

I had a very warm welcome when I arrived and nothing was too much trouble. The house and grounds are lovely. The staff all operate as one happy family and can't do enough for you. They will make you a cup of tea day or night. I feel as if Gods hands have reached out and touched this place - there is
so much love here. Excellent. It has opened my eyes to the wonderful work that is going on.

My uncle was treated with loving kindness, care and compassion during his three week stay in Wells House. He was treated with dignity and respect during his transition from life to death. My uncle spoke highly of the carers and quickly established a rapport with those who regularly cared for him. This
was obviously a very difficult time for him but he commented on how relieved he felt to be in such a caring and pleasant environment. This was also a difficult time for my uncle's family and as we all live a long way from Wells House we were so grateful for the ease with which we were able to receive phone updates about his health and general wellbeing from the staff nurses. We are especially grateful for the ease with which we were able to discuss his health and his gradual decline with the nurses during the last few days of his life. My uncle received many visitors from friends and family and many commented on the warm welcome they received from the staff and carers. Caring for others is an important and at times difficult job, although it is frequently overlooked by society and certainly underfunded by successive governments, it remains one of the most beneficial services for carers and for those being cared for. Together with their care and professionalism my uncle received the very best service from all at Wells House and I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Wells House to families who are considering this nursing home for their loved ones.

Mihaela's career in healthcare began in 2014 when she worked as a dedicated Health Care Assistant. She joined our Wells House family in 2016 as a Registered Nurse and has continued to grow within our team, being promoted to Deputy Manager in 2023. Mihaela is bilingual and speaks Romanian and English, which allows her to connect with a diverse range of residents and staff.


Her commitment, leadership, and genuine care for others have made a significant impact on our home.

James Brown

James has been an invaluable member of the Wells House family for the past four years. with a qualification in plumbing and an impressive range of handyman skills, he is our go-to-person for keeping the home in tip-top shape.


Outside of work, James has a passion for fishing and enjoys spending his free time by the water. He is a familiar and friendly face around the home, known to all the residents for his warm demeanour and willingness to help whenever needed.
