Mum stayed at Wells Lodge for just over 6 weeks for respite care following her discharge from the hospital.
From my first enquiry chat, throughout Mum's stay, and the hugs when she left, all the staff were absolutely fantastic. They were so caring - and it was genuine care - and they always had a
smile, which I think says a lot about working there.
Whenever I visited or phoned, the staff were always aware of what was happening with Mum - possibly because Wells Lodge has a relatively small number of residents, but I also believe it's because of the way they work as a team, plus there are no agency staff, so it's an ideal way for the carers to get to know the residents.
Any medical issues with the GP, chasing medication, tests, etc., were chased up and organised straight away - just so professional.
A really good range of food was available also.
I can thoroughly recommend Wells Lodge if you want to have excellent care for yourself or a relative/friend.

From the minute we first walked into Wells Lodge we knew this home would be the one! The whole staff including the handy man are just amazing. The time, attention and care they provide my nan is just something else. Thank you to you all for making my nan's last few months some to remember.

We are finding the nursing home really lovely. helpful and all the staff are really lovely with Mum, who can be quite rude at times with her dementia, they are so patient. Just a really big thank you to you all for making Mum's days happy ones.

My mother was placed in Wells Lodge Nursing Home on end-of-life care after six weeks in hospital. From the moment she arrived, she has been treated with the utmost dignity by all the very friendly and caring staff who also thoughtfully enquire as to my wellbeing every day I visit. The room she has is
ensuite, clean and spacious with a television and comfortable furniture for visitors. Personal hygiene, food and drinks have been provided as required. My overall experience of her time in Wells Lodge has been extremely positive on all matters and feel her care at this very difficult time has been exemplary.

I have just stayed here for a week of respite care whilst my daughter was away. I was somewhat apprehensive and anxious as I had never stayed in a residential setting before, there was no need! My well-decorated spacious room with a door to the garden reassured me immediately. The staff were kind and
realised my anxieties immediately dealing with me in a professional caring way. I felt calm and reassured in their presence and that nothing was too much trouble for them. I was very lucky to be in such a compassionate and caring environment.

All the staff at Wells Lodge whatever their roles are very friendly and kind, always welcoming and cheerful. They are very approachable and take time to discuss any concerns and keep the family informed and updated on all aspects of mum's care. It is a happy place and every week different activities
are planned. I feel that mum is being well cared for now in Wells Lodge.

As a family, we feel very lucky to have found a place for our dad at Wells Lodge. Our dad was a resident for the past 7 months until his recent death.
Our dad was a very independent man. So going into a nursing home was a very difficult transition for him.
From the start, he was made to feel extremely
welcome. All staff treated my dad with love, care and kindness. Nothing was too much trouble. Which made the transition for him easier.
Our dad had a lovely room overlooking the garden, where he loved to look at the wildlife.
As a family we are very grateful to all staff, we couldn't have asked for more. Everything the staff did was very much appreciated by us all.

My 'surrogate' Mum has been in Wells Lodge Nursing Home since January and is very happy there. She tells me that she ought to rent a room there as she'll struggle to cope when she goes home as she is looked after so well. (She's not aware that she can't go home and is confused about where she lived
when married and when she was a child). Her room is lovely and overlooks the garden, which is perfect for her as she loves watching the wildlife.
The home is cosy and 'lived in,' scrupulously clean and most welcoming, as are the staff. At the first signs of any health problems, I am always contacted and kept up to date. The two senior nurses always have time for me and answer any questions honestly, which is much appreciated.
The food always looks wholesome and appetising, which is most important to me as Mum still has a reasonable appetite.
Management runs a happy ship, which is obvious by the attitude of all staff and makes me grateful that Wells Lodge was recommended to me, thank you to all.

I consider ourselves fortunate that Wells Lodge Nursing Home had a vacant room when we needed one. From walking in the front door I knew that this was the place for my Mother. Staff are friendly, whilst being professional, and the ambience is that of a large family home. It is not an easy task placing
one of your parents in permanent care, so I am very grateful to all the staff for their care and support. The room my Mum has is bright and a good size. She has to be nursed in bed and there are never any "bad smells" which I think is testament to the excellent care that she is given. Top marks all around.

Wells Lodge Nursing Home looked after my mother from 23rd February 2023. From her very first day to her last, she was looked after with exceptional care, love and happiness. All of the staff that we met were exceptional and caring. A very special mention goes to three staff members in particular, who’s
kindness and care was brilliant. Prior to Mum arriving at Wells Lodge, she was in another ‘corporate' nursing home within the area. Whilst Wells Lodge is smaller, the attention to detail and care was without doubt outstanding. For any family looking for a lovely care home for their loved ones, I would highly recommend Wells Lodge.

When viewing for my Dad, I couldn't believe how amazing the facilities are. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. I had no idea what the process for my dad was and they made the time to sit down with me and explain and listen to any concerns I had. It's such a homely atmosphere with activities available.
The staff treat my dad with such kindness, respect and dignity. On his first day, he settled very quickly which was one of my concerns that it may take him a while but he's been so happy since being there. I can't fault the staff at all, they're quick responding and ensure that my dad is ok. I just can't believe how good the home is. They also make me and my family members very welcoming also. I honestly believe this home was the best choice for my dad and his needs. I can't thank them enough for everything they're doing for my dad.

My first reaction of the home was - clean, tidy and cosy. The room we chose for mum was clean and tidy with a nice view of the garden, which we knew would please her. We were greeted by caring staff, looking clean and smart. Mum has only been in the home for a couple of weeks but she has settled in
nicely. I'm glad we chose Wells Lodge and are very happy she is enjoying her new home.
