The Langston was built by the Earl of Ducie as a hunting lodge with stabling for forty horses in the 1870s. It was built using stone from the private quarry of his father-in-law, Squire Langston. It later became a popular hotel.

In 1985 it was turned into a residential home. The property was chosen not only for its suitability in having wide corridors and no steps within the building, but also for its beautiful setting with lovely views over the Cotswolds in all directions.

The Langston Nursing Home was awarded the rating of 'Good' in every area that was inspected by the CQC and the overall rating awarded following the inspection was 'Good' (October 2022). In 2022, The Langston Nursing Home was awarded a national Gold Standards Framework (GSF) Quality Hallmark Award for its delivery of end-of-life care during the pandemic.

The rooms are spacious and warmly decorated to make the residents feel at home. High-quality care from well-trained staff is offered, giving residents the opportunity to make their own choices and live as independently as possible in a safe environment.

While visiting several nursing care homes in our local area on behalf of my twin brother last year, some were very palatial but with no heart to them. Until we visited The Langston and were shown around the home by the manager. She visited my brother in hospital and agreed to accept him at The Langston.
All
the staff are truly wonderful and very caring, it is a great relief to know he is very well cared for.
We really have struck gold in discovering a home with a great heart.

Please note I am responsible for my son, as he cannot communicate. My son became a resident on 7th March. It was very traumatic with the change over from the hospital to the home because he picked up infections. However the staff and all the carers were very attentive and so patient with him. The
care is excellent and he communicates when given a command but cannot speak. Wonderful home, just one big family.

My mother has been a resident for 4 years and we as a family are delighted with the care she gets. 'The Langston' is a very well run home with excellent senior staff and carers. whenever any of us go, we always find it to be in good order and no 'wee' smell either which is a very positive sign of cleanliness.
My mother is always looking good and is obviously content and happy to be there. The staff are attentive and kind and there is an excellent activities lady which gives the home an overall good feeling of care and thoughtfulness for it's residents. Thoroughly recommended.
