I am very happy with Mum's care. The carers always greet me with smiley faces at the entrance and greet Mum in a very upbeat manner.
They go out of their way to try to coax her to eat more. This has been successful as Mum has actually put on weight.
They also try very hard to get Mum to participate
in the activities and to leave her room, which is an uphill struggle, but they keep trying!

My mother has been in Coxwell for seven years. The staff have shown nothing but care and genuine love towards my mother. I feel very blessed that my mum's passing two weeks ago was handled with so much dignity and compassion. I can't thank the staff who were caring for my mum whilst she passed away
for going above and beyond their job roles, and I will never ever be able to thank you enough, and I will never forget this. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

The staff really seem to care and treat residents with a lot of respect. Dealing with dementia isn’t easy, but everyone I have dealt with seems well-trained and considerate. There appears to be good continuity of staff. The result is that Mum seems well-settled and generally happy at Coxwell Hall.

My husband was here for 2 weeks of respite, the care he received was really good, he settled down well and was happy but sadly the home was a long way for me to go to visit but I would recommend this place to anyone.

My husband has been living at Coxwell for 10 months, the staff throughout the home are supportive, extremely kind and deal with what is a hugely difficult job with care and humour. We will frequently be laughing with the residents which can only be a good thing. My husband has settled in well and I
love getting pictures and comments about his daily activities on the family app. Christmas was an unexpected joy with the staff dressed up as Santa and the elves. Well done and huge thanks.

The staff seem very kind and attentive to the patients. Their needs seem to be met. The home is being refurbished/painted and I think that will definitely improve the look - as it was looking tired. However, the most important thing is the care - not palatial surroundings. Pleased with the home.

The employees and management go above and beyond, not only for patients, but for family members as well. Lots of fun days, which also family members are included in. Family members are also kept up to date with information regarding Mum. Best place for my mum to be. We feel like one big family.

Staff are very attentive to resident's needs. Activities are very good to keep residents stimulated. Dad has been here just over a year and he appears to be happy and settled. It's good to see him smile when he is getting involved in activities.

I have been here now for one year, my only gripe is the food, i.e. I have had one Brussel sprout and some lettuce but no cabbage or other green stuff. Just daily red cabbage and green broccoli flower heads, no leaves, and the meat, be it lamb, pork or beef, is overcooked and looks and tastes the same,
and not enough fruit which I miss as I had a large garden full of fruit and veg. When I first came there were too many carers whose knowledge of English was abysmal. Most carers now speak English well enough.

Prior to my brother's admission, we were unable to view the home first, due to Covid restrictions, so obviously we were apprehensive. However, right from the word 'go', from the warm welcome we received, we felt we had made the right choice. My brother is happy and content in his surroundings and has
a good rapport with the staff. We are reassured to know that he is receiving the best care possible, by carers who he views as his friends.

Hi my name is Sarah. I have worked at Coxwell Hall and Mews for 8+ years. I have worked as a care assistant, activities co ordinator, senior carer and now am a lead co ordinator. I studied health and social care at Swindon new college. Whilst working at Coxwell I have completed my NVQ 3, medication training, CPR training, lots of clinical training and much more. I have always wanted to look after the elderly and spent alot of my childhood spending time with my grand parents. I love working at Coxwell because it feels like home, I enjoy making sure all of our residents are happy. In my free time I enjoy spending quality time with my son and fiance, i enjoy going on holidays abroad and experiencing new things, I LOVE THE SUN.

Hi my name is Del. I have been working at Coxwell hall and mews Since 2004, Coxwell has become my second home. My Coxwell family have given me the opportunity to enhance my knowledge and skills as a lead carer. Whilst being at Coxwell i have been able to complete my NVQ 2 and 3 and also NVQ 2 for team leaders and i have achieved much much more and been given a lot of opportunities to better myself whilst being here. I love caring for people and making them happy, it makes me happy too. I love working, some may say I’m a workaholic, but in my free time when I’m not at Coxwell I love to spend time with my family and friends, cooking, playing scrabble and cards. I need to keep busy I get bored easily.

Hi my name is Louise. I have been working at Coxwell hall and mews since april 2014. I decided I wanted to be a carer because I have always looked after people in my family and decided I wanted to do it as a profession. Doing all the trainings provided by Coxwell has helped me become the carer I am now, I love being with the residents and helping them achieve what they want to achieve. When I am at home I love spending time with my daughter and my partner, I like going to the cinema, going clothes shopping and meeting up with the girls. I enjoy taking my daughter to her swimming and dance classes. Family is important to me.

Hi my name is Lidia. I came to work at Coxwell hall and mews in 2016 from Romania, where I have lived most of my life. I qualified to be an RGN in 2015. Coxwell provide constant training to keep me up to date on my knowledge and experiences. I enjoy working at Coxwell because it feels like home and I enjoy working with all the staff at Coxwell. I always wanted to become a nurse since I was little. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two children and I like to go back to Romania for holidays and to see my family.

Hi. My name is Kate. I have been working at Coxwell Hall & Mews since February 2019. I came from Poland.
I have been a qualified nurse now for 7 years. My mother is a nurse, I think I became a nurse because she inspired me. I enjoy my work, especially because I have experience in many areas of this profession.
I appreciate that Coxwell is giving me a variety of opportunities to develop my skills as a nurse.
Coxwell is providing constant training to expand my knowledge, which is essential in this line of work.
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
My hobbies are reading books, sending postcards - I'm a member of Postcrossing which is an online community,
I enjoy travelling and recently started playing the violin.

Hi, my name is Susanna. I have worked in Coxwell since March 2016 as a senior Carer and from June 2016 to date as RGN. Though nursing is dynamic, challenging and rewarding, I personally feel is the right career for me. I am a practical, reliable and trustworthy individual with a genuine desire to help others whenever and I am in a position to do so.As a Nurse knowing that the decision I make has a huge impact on a person with Dementia’s Well-being. Hence, effective communication and the ability to assess their individual needs is paramount. I have acquired these traits along the years having worked as a nurse in a care setting. I have also developed the skills needed to effectively evaluate, communicate and assess their individual needs with compassion in order to provide care that promote their wellbeing in a safe environment. Furthermore, my personality and personal approach enables me to form effective working relationship with various teams. Things that matter to me are my family and religion. In my spare time, I enjoy doing online training and watching series and movies.

Zippy Magana

Home Manager Zippy Magana qualified as a nurse in 2000, gaining much of her experience in hospitals, care homes and within the community, bringing versatility and knowledge from many settings.


During her 8-year tenure at Coxwell Hall prior to her return in 2023, Zippy headed up the project ‘Like a Butterfly’ which has set out much of the practice adopted today. She is also qualified to deliver SMI & LD health checks (for people with Severe Mental Illness and Learning Difficulties).


This role has seen Zippy make a real difference at Coxwell, her energy, knowledge and capacity to improve the quality of life for people living with dementia, and their personal-centred care, but also in the way she goes about motivating the team, bringing them together to build a highly caring and effective team.


Zippy is the nucleus of the Coxwell family, creating a home full of laughter and warmth, a very special place, that delivers high-quality care to our residents living with complex dementia.


If you can’t find Zippy at Coxwell, then she may be swimming or socialising in the community. She also loves a good read, and if she ever gets to escape then it’s off travelling to somewhere hot.


For those that don’t know her yet – Zippy loves a hug, she comes from Kenya and is also the mother of one very handsome son, the firstborn of a family of three.
