Mill House is a Witney care and nursing accommodation set up in a renovated period home, where residents enjoy a modern care service with their own care packages and activities programme. The home provides residential and nursing care.

Together with attractive gardens and a conservatory, Mill House has its own library, offering residents a wide range of personal choice in terms of how they spend their days.

An activities coordinator plans a busy schedule, though participation remains optional, allowing residents to take part in daily events in the home as well as frequent excursions beyond it.

The dietary and cultural needs of service users are well-respected, with refreshments available throughout the day and night and carers making regular checks on residents' needs. Meals are prepared onsite by trained chefs who provide a varied daily menu. Special diets can be catered for.

My experience of Mill House is one of excellent care and nursing. A home that truly cares and in such a homely environment. I would say the best nursing home in town.

The eight years our mother was in Mill House we have been satisfied with her care and attention she received. All the staff were wonderful with her day and night. Always let us know by phone if anything to know about her health and wellbeing. The cleanliness and freshness all over Mill House were exceptionally
well kept.
The menu for food was very well balanced for their needs.

My mother has been in the home for nearly a year. When admitted she was able to partake in activities and enjoyed them. Since then, following a stroke and increased dementia she can no longer do these. The staff are excellent with her, she's always clean and seems relatively happy and the staff advise
on how she is progressing.

I volunteer with my two dogs, Peggy and Mario, and we visit on a bi-weekly basis. I have always been impressed with the level of care and compassion of the staff. Always with a smile and a kind word. All residents are treated well and are clean and in good spirits. Lots of activities and social gatherings.
The dogs and I always enjoy our visits!

My wife was taken into Mill House due to our care company pulling out. I cannot say thank you to the staff enough from the humble kitchen porters, through to the manager. The staff have made my wife feel like she was a person and have been very supportive in both her welfare and needs. Once again a
big, big thank you to all the staff in this brilliant home.

I continue to be impressed with the care my mother receives. She says how well she is treated by all staff including visiting staff (hairdresser, podiatrist etc).
The new manager continues to make improvements to the home, surroundings and all round well being of the residents, promoting a very happy
atmosphere. At the end of my visits I leave knowing that my mother is in very good hands.
I find it easy to discuss my mother's care with relevant staff and any concerns are dealt with immediately and efficiently. All staff show great dedication to their work.

My Mother in Law is well cared for by the staff. She has been in Mill House for almost 5 years and age 97 soon. We were informed her food would be liquidised. This is not always happening? Given grapes with skin on - a choking potential. Aware she doesn't like what she calls "slops"!! Unfortunately
complains about food all the time. The home has been decorated and refurbished to a good standard. Due to deafness, very hard to sit downstairs and have a conversation with other residents. She is lonely.

On my first visit to Mill House, I was struck by how friendly the staff are. Everyone was happy to help and to answer questions I had. The home is very clean, nicely decorated and has a homely feel. I understand building works are expected any day which will tidy the outside of the building up. All
the staff I have seen with Mum are extremely kind.

Mum was moved to Mill House in June after suffering a stroke. She had Alzheimer's disease. We all immediately felt at home and were welcomed by the wonderful staff of all levels. They constantly encouraged Mum to join the other residents and nothing seemed too much trouble. Unfortunately Mum passed
away in December but thanks to the care and thoughtfulness of Mill House staff, her passing was very comfortable and dignified. I would thoroughly recommend this lovely home which will become even better with the Manager at the helm!

My mother was transferred from a local care home after a stroke which left her with very complex needs.
She was expertly cared for and, just as importantly cherished by the wonderful staff.
Mum sadly passed in December, her passing was comfortable and dignified with her immediate family by her side.
The staff took great care of us during this difficult time.
I can't recommend this home enough. the surroundings are lovely as is the food and the staff are dedicated. They go above and beyond to ensure our loved ones have the best possible care.

My mother was a resident at Mill House for about 8 years until she passed away in November 2018. During these years the staff have done their best to provide good care. I have felt that staffing levels have not always been sufficient for residents to have as much attention/swift answers to call buttons,
as they would like. This has improved recently and the activities for residents are, now, very good and more consistent than in previous years. I have, on the whole, been happy with the care given to my mother by the hard-working staff with some being especially kind and supportive to us relatives as she became frail. I have not had much contact with management which changed recently.

My wife came out of the hospital after Christmas and Mill House Nursing Home could not have been more welcoming and helpful. They very kindly did an assessment on Christmas Eve and she moved in on the day after Boxing Day. The manager, administrative staff, nurses and carers have all done everything
they could to welcome us, to look after us and help us feel at home. We are very grateful.

From the moment mum was taken through the door at Mill House the staff were wonderful, friendly and constant. I visit my friend and have found the staff to be very caring and cheerful, the decor of the home is bright, cheerful and upbeat.
I previously brought my friend to this home when they had an open event, garden party, concert and Xmas Fayre and we were always made welcome.

Nicki Bramble

Job Title: Home Manager

Nicki started working in Health and Social Care as a qualified Nurse in 1986. She worked on the Ophthalmology ward, ENT and ran outpatient clinics at St Georges Hospital in London. When Nicki moved to Oxfordshire, she worked as an agency nurse and discovered how much she enjoyed working in Nursing Homes. When she isn’t working, Nicki enjoys long country walks with her dogs, competitive cycling and climbing mountains such as Snowdon!
