Barchester Ashford House Care Home is located near Staines, in the village of Stanwell.

The home provides 24-hour expert care for people living with dementia in the specialist Memory Lane Community.

It is proud to be one of the first homes to be accredited as part of Barchester’s Dementia Care programme, reflecting the enhanced quality of dementia care and improved quality of life experienced by the residents at Ashford House.

A team of highly-qualified and attentive staff really focuses on the individual needs of residents with a tailored care plan for each person.

Staff's dedication can be seen across the board - in the cooking, hospitality and organised activities for residents.

Activities are tailored to the individual interests of residents and there is an ongoing life box project in which residents can compile memories and treasured items. Other activities include pet therapy and musical entertainment.

Our mother was moved to Ashford House from another home. Ashford House was superior on every level - care, environment, facilities and administration. There was a friendly, open and honest way to how our mother was welcomed and settled in that was contrasted starkly with the self-protective caution
of the other home. Excellent care!

Ashford House is a well-run care home, all staff are very caring, they provide all residents with great care - treating them with respect and keeping their dignity. The home keeps us well informed if there are any changes with my husband's health.

A really lovely home, good carers who show a great amount of dedication very helpful and always willing to listen to any worries/concern's we may have. Food is lovely and a varied menu. A new activities lady has joined the team so I would love to see more activities being offered. Also to use the garden
more in the summer months. Overall, really happy with this lovely home.

The staff are mostly very helpful, however sometimes if maybe we have more staff it would be more beneficial to the service user. I could not complain about overall care being given to my husband. The food is great, the home is clean, not smelling. The domestics are doing a good job. The management
is supportive to me. The home manager is outstanding, she is very good.

One lady went beyond normal care by blow drying and applying make-up to my wife, in doing do she made her really presentable.

Always greeted by friendly, helpful staff. Dad usually seems happy. He is well cared for and is generally clean and tidy. Sometimes communication needs to be more prompt. Dad gets the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities which he appears to enjoy. Overall we are very happy with Ashford

Totally satisfied with the care my father got. All staff are so friendly and excellent care is given to the residents. My father was treated with respect and dignity at all times.

The whole standard of care, cleanliness and dignity was excellent. The staff were always available to help and advise us throughout my fathers stay. I was always kept informed about any health issues that arose day or night. My father was always given respect and empathy throughout his time there. All
the staff including cleaners and laundry staff were always extremely cheerful and polite. I congratulate all the staff at Ashford House and I would never hesitate in recommending this wonderful home. It made my whole family's lives so much easier, I was so confident about his whole stay.

I have been a nurse for many years and have continued to develop my skills in nursing people living with Dementia through the excellent development training that Barchester Healthcare has offered me. I am privileged to have this opportunity


Working in a dementia environment is a very rewarding career. I feel residents treat us as their own family as you can feel the genuine response from them, their trust, acceptance and the lovely smiles on their faces. It’s such a pleasure to care for them.


I am so proud of the elderly care Ashford House offer to people living with dementia at our nursing home and we like to help if we can.

Hello. My name is Cristina. I am the Clinical Deputy Manager here at Ashford House.


I qualified as a nurse in Romania. In 2000 I started working with Barchester and in 2003 progressed to the role of senior carer while waiting for my PIN number.


I continued as a nurse afterwards. I’m grateful for the experience that I have gained working with Barchester to improve my skills and the training that has been provided by the company.


There have been challenges in the past but we remain focused on residents wellbeing as well as the well-being of our team and ourselves.
