Broome Park can accommodate 54 service users’ across two buildings. They have a high staff to client ratio enabling them to provide quality nursing care consistent with resident's changing needs over a twenty-four hour period.

Therefore, they can respond rapidly to an individual's requirements by providing one to one care or group therapy work as appropriate.

My wife has been here for the last two weeks. My fear was she would not settle in but due to the care of the nurses, she has settled in. The main thing I have picked up during this time is the empathy of the staff.

After a difficult start in the care home - one year on he is very happy there, much to his families relief. We are happy too. All staff are polite and friendly and attentive, which is appreciated it can not always be easy! It would be nice if the staff wore name badges so that we would know who we were
talking to and could thank them. To my knowledge, the family have never been made to feel a nuisance. Laundry is sometimes a bit hit and miss, otherwise, excellent. Thank you!

Always made to feel very welcome as we arrive.
Our resident is clean and well-fed.
We were celebrating a Birthday and were immediately offered a private room, drinks and biscuits.
All staff are approachable and friendly.

Outstanding, dedicated, humane and personally committed team - they work above and beyond in looking after their patients. They have created a home from home for my mother with Alzheimer's - she went from virtually immobile, post-Covid-19, to going out and eating in restaurants two times this week!

Overall, for the time my sister has resided at Broome Park, our family have been very satisfied with her care. Over the years there have been some wonderful, caring staff. Unfortunately, the ever-changing management has been unsettling for families. The lack of care given to the grounds in the last
few years is a real shame as it used to look beautiful and was a real asset. The building is old and in need of serious maintenance. Before the pandemic, it was always a struggle to use the coffee room at the front of the building to visit my sister when it was too cold to sit outside. The food is of a very good standard and it is lovely to have a cake made for a relative's birthday. The staff are the best thing about Broome Park, particularly the long-serving members and the Head Nursing Manager. They have had such a difficult job over the last year and have coped really well. However, there are times when there doesn't seem to be enough staff on duty.

The care of my father, during the pandemic, has been really good. His mood has not changed, he is happy and relaxed. I put this down to the staff treating him well. He is clean and tidy when I see him. The home is lucky to have the staff they do.

My 95-year-old mother was moved to Broome Park Nursing Home in January 2021 after a month in hospital having had several falls. Though now very frail and forgetful she seems to have settled reasonably well. The staff have always been responsive and happy to answer questions and let me speak with my
mother on the phone. I have been able to visit which is very important.

My dad has been at Broome Park for nearly a year. It has been a difficult year for everyone. I have always felt that my dad was getting really good care. He is living with dementia but his needs have always been met with love and care. He is very happy at Broome Park, which makes it easier for the family.
The staff keep me informed of his care. They have tried hard to allow visits safely. I cannot thank the staff enough for making a horrible situation as easy as possible for me and my step-mum.

My Dad has been a resident at Broome Park since the end of December 2019. He arrived at Broome Park malnourished and extremely weak after being in a different care home with, in our opinion, poor standards of care. Since his arrival at Broome Park, he has put on some weight and gained in strength despite
downturns in his mental status due to his dementia. He has had some hospital stays due to his ongoing health problems, each time returning to the home in a weakened state but each time their care has brought about improvements in his health. As a family, we have nothing but praise for the kindness and care he receives. The staff are always very friendly and supportive and we would highly recommend the home to anyone in a similar situation.

My father was moved to Broome Park during the lockdown, so it was very difficult as we could not see him face to face - but the home made every effort for family to visit with outside visits and being able to wave through the windows, plus daily telephone calls.
The staff I have dealt with have always
been very helpful, courteous and have kept me fully up to date regarding my father.
The home itself is a beautiful building in a lovely location it does seem a little tired, but I am informed by the manager that plans are in place for some work to be carried out.
The home is very welcoming and nothing seems too much trouble - I am confident that they look after my father and his specific nursing needs very well indeed.

My mother spent just over three weeks in respite care at Broome Park.
She felt she had a good time whilst she stayed there and enjoyed her meals. Although during these COVID times it was strange not to go into Broome Park and I will not be able to comment on some options below. However, I found
the staff very helpful, professional and very quick to respond to emails and telephone calls.
My mother feels that she would be happy to return there and we have already booked a short stay.

My husband has been a resident at Broome Park for over 6 years. He has a rare and rather challenging form of dementia and was only 59 when he became a resident. Broome Park is unique at having the expertise to deal with a wide range of mental and physical impairment and very importantly for those below
65 years of age as well as above. Now very reduced in his capacity he was mobile, vocal and very active when he arrived and was made to feel very welcome and settled instantly. The home had a broad range of activities, visits from entertainers and outings that kept him stimulated and happy. I was also able to visit whenever I wished and even join him on his outings. The staff have always been extremely caring to myself, family and my husband and there is a strong sense of a united team. Changes in management caused a bit of a blip in the feel of the home but care was never compromised. Happily, order has now been restored under the new manager and her skilled team.

Since coming to Broome Park four years ago, I have been impressed by the quiet demeanour and dedication of the staff in caring for my husband.
During the latter part of last year and early part of this year, we lost a number of dedicated members of staff, which was a great shame. At the beginning of
this year, we saw the departure of the previous owners. Their ideas may have had some substance, but the implementation was seriously flawed and not workable in an environment such as a residential nursing home catering for many elderly and frail people, most of whom were suffering from varying degrees of dementia.
We were then blindsided with the bombshell of Covid-19 and lockdown, which affected everyone to a lesser or greater extent. We have lost residents who, over time, have become extended members of everyone’s family. Throughout this time, all members of staff have maintained their dignity and caring attitude to all the residents in their care.

Broome Park is a very caring home for my mother who has advanced Alzheimers. We first had Mum stay at Broome Park nearly 4 years ago when she was in a much better state of mind but realised quite quickly that, although it was a great place, it was too early for Mum to live there. We always knew that
when the time came, we would go back to Broome Park as we had not and did not, find an alternative home that was a good one.

My husband was a resident at Broome Park for over three years and recently my brother was admitted to hospital. On discharge, it was obvious that he was malnourished, frail and unable to care for himself. My first thought was to find him respite care where he could be cared for. I called Broome Park
and spoke with a senior nurse who not only nursed my husband until he passed away in December 2018 but had met my brother when he visited in the past.
She was exceptional in arranging a room that would suit and took the time to meet me the following day at Broome Park. I am sure that it was not a day that she would have been on normal duty but that she had come in especially to take care of my brother and myself.
Once questions had all been answered, my brother was looked after in a most caring and kind way.
I stayed with him when he had lunch and was delighted to see him eating after several days without food.
I am confident that his condition will improve while he is a resident.
