Great home, fantastic management and overall excellent service, totally recommend. Residents are very well cared for and the staff are a pleasure to deal with while providing excellent care to the residents and our families.

Sadly I do not feel able to leave a positive review as my mother has not had the best experience at the home. I appreciate we were very fortunate to get a place during the first lockdown. On the whole, the staff are lovely.

My 95-year-old mother has been staying at Chestnut View Care Home since May 2020 and has been very well looked after.
There has been a change in management since she arrived (the previous manager was a superstar!) and inevitably the pandemic has been challenging times for the care home with many changes
in the team as you would expect, however, I have always felt that the carers are very attentive with my mother and they have gone out of their way to keep her comfortable and happy.
My mother always seems content, not anxious, there is a lovely, friendly atmosphere every time I visit and I am very grateful to the staff there who work 24/7 and their dedication clearly shines through for all the residents they look after, including my dear elderly mother.
I would wholeheartedly recommend Chestnut View to anyone looking for a relative.

All in all, I am quite happy with the care given to my mother. Whenever I have had a problem they have addressed it. I would like to see them take my mother down to the lounge more often but she can be quite stubborn, a little cajoling would help. My mum looks healthy and seems happy. I have always
found the staff very accommodating.

My experience was that the staff at the home, in most cases, went out of their way to make my husband happy and comfortable during his stay but his deteriorating mobility made it difficult for them. Because he was not always able to go to the lounge for the activities he could not always have the interaction
he needed, someone to come and talk to him more when he was bedbound (I visited him every day) and I know shortages of staff made this difficult and also Covid regulations. (Perhaps volunteer visitors now?).

My experience over the last three years is that the Chestnut View Care Home has a very welcoming and friendly atmosphere! It has experienced the same problems as other nursing and care homes but can still welcome all visitors and the people being cared for in the home with a smile and a "hello"!

My father was a resident in the home for just over a year. He arrived during the Covid-19 restriction period from a situation where we spent most of the day alone. Before he arrived, he was lonely, bored and unhappy, within the home he was very happy and joined in the activities - he was treated by
the staff with compassion and dignity, well-fed and felt secure. Some major improvements were made to the management of the home during his stay.

Chestnut View staff went above and beyond making sure my mum who celebrated her 102nd birthday today, they made sure she looked amazing and supplying her a party in the garden, amazing food and cake. Thank you to all involved.

My husband has been here only since 14/06/2021. The welcome and the care he received has been excellent from the manager downwards, all staff have been very caring and obliging, always willing to help.
This is a wonderful care home.

We went through many things with managers and were promised that all would be accommodated easily. Unfortunately, the carers either didn't get the message, didn't understand or didn't care.
Left in bed often until late morning or dressed earlier and put back to bed.
Food was inedible.
Staff told
my dad that we had complained. Lost clothes, still not returned.
Very disappointed.

Mum started off on the nursing floor two weeks before lockdown. I wasn't impressed. The nurses were lovely but lack of socialisation and person-centred care. After a couple of months, Mum moved down to Pastimes dementia unit. She has flourished and is on the whole very happy, walking a lot and joining
in with activities etc. Staff are lovely and Mum has struck up a rapport with them. Haven't seen Mum's room and can't answer some questions.

Since the lockdown and easing, I have been able, on an appointment basis, to visit my husband in a "secluded" room, two-meter distancing, wearing a mask. An attendant from home available during the visit. I find this has been extremely well organised and was and am impressed by how well the home coped

I cannot comment on the care home other than the visitor's lounge. I started to visit again in June once restrictions were eased post COVID-19. The team have all been very welcoming and friendly. The protocols for visiting are very clear and well organised. Everywhere is spotlessly clean and beautifully
furnished.

Chestnut View is a lovely care home, with very attentive staff who create a safe, happy environment for all. I have never seen my grandmother look so happy - and that, for me, is all that matters.
