Thanks to all management and staff at Chestnut View for all you are doing, including these difficult times of lockdown.
Perhaps an update on the manager's note to Family & Friends of Chestnut View dated 24th May 2020 might be opportune.
Please encourage staff to make sure that my cousin's hearing
aids are both fitted and working during the day - it makes such a difference.
Not sure how well my cousin is eating - she loves fruit so do offer to her.
Hope you are soon in a position to use the ground floor refurbished rooms (1 for my cousin).
Thanks for all the care and cuppas for my cousin - well done!

We have found my relative has received excellent care and people are very friendly when we come to visit or call/zoom with her. We feel she is very safe and extremely well looked after! especially at this time.

During this pandemic, everyone has been on their toes and given a service to my mother beyond all expectations. Keeping her and all the patient's health and safety their number one cause. I cannot fault anything the home has done for my mother. Also, I have been informed on my mother's welfare frequently.

We are very happy we chose this home for our mother who has been there a few years now. She is cared for by excellent, caring and very professional staff always happy to go the extra mile for her and for us. There generally seems to be some kind of stimulating activity going on and we feel very welcome
when we visit (pre Corona Virus obviously). Our mother seems very contented and settled and we always get an immediate response when we ring and enquire after her. Many thanks to everyone there especially during this challenging time.

I actually completed a review of Chestnut View Care Home in February this year when the Coronavirus was known about, but the subsequent impact that was to follow on our lives and those of our loved ones was still to be fully realised. With what has occurred over the last six weeks, I felt it was important
to take this opportunity to re-emphasise my thanks and gratitude to everyone at Chestnut View for their tireless work ethic; which has never been in question along with the continued love and care that is provided to so many loved ones within the home.


Whilst caring for our loved ones, it has been rightly recognised by the government and the nation that you are prepared to put your own health to one side to continue to do the job you all love and are so proud to go to work for every day.


My mother has been at Chestnut View for over eight years now, and in that time, the love and care provided by all members of the care home team to her has been exemplary. Thank you all.

A "modern" purpose-built home that is light and spacious. The environment is well cared for and clean, some areas recently refurbished. All the staff are welcoming, friendly and very approachable. They take good care of our mum. There are much better consistency and a greater sense of stability since
the change of management last year. There is a range of activities each week and relatives are often invited to join in with special events as well.

My grandad is in the care home and he loves it. Professional care and the best carers. I like the place and that it is so close to the town centre and nearby green space.

I have found the staff to be very friendly and caring. Not every day is the same but as far as I am concerned nothing is bad.
Unfortunately, the maintenance is not as good as the care. Since moving into my current room several months ago, I have had no hot water in my bathroom.
The food is generally
good but is often disappointing due to poor menu planning.
Normally I feel at ease and comfortable in my room.

Just to say I came here by ambulance after a fall at the residential home in which I was living.
I have been very well cared for here.
It was a shock to me but I have been treated with respect and I am gradually getting acclimatised.
It is a cheerful place to be.

Stupefying repetitive food, inedible. Help of very limited quality and a language problem I don't need. Apart from that...Air quality is good, convenient location for family and mostly willing to help with dressing and chores. Activities are not needed, it is not possible for me to move normally.

Over the past couple of months, the home has been replacing members of staff due to people moving on, during this time they have maintained their usual, exceptionally high standards of care for my mother. The remaining staff and the new members of staff now on board and joining the team, deserve a pat
on the back for the way they always go beyond what is expected of them. My family and I are very grateful. We especially appreciate the fact that the in-house management are so approachable and are so knowledgeable about the needs of their residents.

Wonderful care home. All of the staff are just so loving and caring whilst showing great respect to the people in their care and their families. They showed my husband great compassion and I shall always be in debt to them all. Over the 4 years I knew them, they became my second loving home and family.
