Nestled within the quiet surroundings of Walton-on-Thames, Adelaide House care home offers personalised residential and nursing care to older people.

With sitting rooms and space for residents to pursue their hobbies and interests, Adelaide House has a host of places in which to relax, dine, exercise, socialise and be creative. It relates to every day because the care my mother receives is of a very high standard. For her health needs and that of her personal needs and that of her mental health needs. My mother looks well and is far more responsive. The team are amazing. Thank you so much.

My friend had been looked after very well during her last stage in life. Adelaide House care team is an expert in terms of end-of-life pathway. She was comfortable until her last breath. My dad was transferred to this care home from hospital. The service he received was excellent and they couldn't have done more. The staff were very attentive to my dad and made his stay very comfortable and like being at home. Would highly recommend this care home. One member of staff in particular

From the first time my mother-in-law came to Adelaide she felt at home. The staff have been amazing. They supported my mother-in-law through some really tough times and thankfully my mother-in-law is now much better and ready to go home again.
The staff have given her time and made her feel safe and
cared for and for us as a family, the communication has been excellent.
All in all, we have found Adelaide a warm and caring home.

All good nice staff and friendly. They helped my mum very well when she stayed at Adelaide House. Mum was taken care of really well at Adelaide House. I could not say anything but a very big thank you to Adelaide House team. You are doing an amazing job. My mum said that she did not feel that she was
alone, people always make time and say 'hi, how are you?'. Adelaide House is a very happy home and an excellent care home.

The staff have been excellent caring for my mother.
They are always helpful and polite, and happy.
My mum isn't always the easiest of people to care for, but the staff are super patient.
The facilities are really good, and engage with the residents in many activities.

My mum was in Adelaide House for 6 months until her passing. When she was in there she was treated well and the book held in her room for each aspect of her care was excellent and far better than other homes, detailing each time she was attended to throughout the day/night with observations and comments
to state was carried out.
Mum was moved from a ground floor garden view room during her stay to a room on the top floor which is meant to be the most expensive room, it is fine if someone is able to move around but as my mum was bedbound the room isn't that great as the windows are not visible from the bed height and the bed is positioned against a wall.
The staff member at the reception is an excellent point of contact (friendly and informative) and other members of staff were polite and called me by name.
Negatives:
1) Weekend access: Could family be given a monthly access code?
2) Being asked for a review on a tablet within hours of my mum's passing and her belongings in a bin bag!

My mother now feels comfortable in Adelaide House and sees it as her home. She finds the staff very friendly and caring. The room is always kept clean and her needs are seen to promptly. As her daughter, I always find the staff very approachable. She finds the food quite pleasant. Any problems and maintenance
issues have been dealt with promptly.

Came for Xmas dinner with Mum. We had a lovely meal - we always find all the staff very friendly, patient and kind to Mum. Happy with her room and happy with the care given to Mum. We feel Mum is in a safe, caring environment.

What does ‘kindness’ mean to you?


“Treating others the way I would like to be treated. We all have history to share, experiences which make us the way we are. Kindness has many forms, and we always should strive to be kind one to another.”


During his career in the health and care sector, Slawomir has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people to enrich their lives. He is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards of care and quality of life for residents.


Talking about how he began his career, Slawomir says:


“I was originally supposed to be a banker in my home country of Poland but didn’t love finance and decided to try something different. I started as a carer in 2005, fell in love with the profession and have never looked back.”


Having now worked in the care sector for many years, Slawomir closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every resident. He extends this caring approach to his colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


When asked what he enjoys most about his role, Slawomir remarked:


“I love my work, I describe it as my calling, and could not imagine my life any other way. Every day is different and small things lead to huge differences in the lives of my residents.”


Outside of work, Slawomir enjoys a range of hobbies, spending time with his family, travelling and living life to the fullest.
