The home is located within large and attractive landscaped gardens, easily accessible from the ground floor rooms, some of which have their own patio area. A selection of first-floor bedrooms have Juliet balconies, ensuring that residents can take in the fresh air and enjoy the gardens whenever they choose.

A "home" is an institution which has been beleaguered by many scandals, outrages and whitewashes over generations since the "workhouse". As lasting attorneys for a loved one, we ventured into this unknown territory with considerable trepidation, foreboding and suspicion. The panacea for all our concerns
has proved to be Cranmer Court with its modern tailor made facilities, reassuringly professional staff with a "can do" attitude and an engaging team spirit which delivers firm and friendly service. Flexible care and responsive attention within a professional and transparent framework, regularly monitored and reviewed with the full involvement of patients and relatives, has been clearly demonstrated. Comfort, safety, diet and medical care are ingrained into the DNA of the establishment and programmes for socialising and community involvement is there with no duress. It's desirable, accessible location with free car parking, regular bus services and well-maintained grounds make Cranmer court a relaxed "home from Home" which is subtly secure. When hiccups have occurred the response has been equal to a quality hotel.

My old friend and companion was a resident of Cranmer Court for the last week of his life. I visited him every day and so was well aware of the care and compassion shown to him and me by the friendly staff.

My mother lived at Cranmer Court for 15 months. All the staff we met were friendly and caring and very patient. Mum was able to join in activities when she wanted to or remain in her room if she preferred. Her room was well-equipped with an ensuite shower. Visiting times were almost unrestricted and
the whole home always looked and smelt clean. The staff knew all the residents by name and we were always made to feel welcome whenever we visited and I think Mum enjoyed living there.

My mother received outstanding care as she approached the end of her life. The staff and management were courteous, sympathetic and caring throughout.

My mother in law has been in Cranmer Court for three weeks and in all that time one of the two lifts has been out of order.
The second lift is now also not working which means we have to try to get her down the stairs. Please spend some money and fix the lifts.
However, the staff and care have been
really good.
However, the lift situation does mean we can't always get her downstairs as the alternative would scare her.

Unfortunately we have had issues with our lifts and apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused. The faults have been dealt with and both our lifts are now in working order. If you would like to discuss any matters with our home manager her door is always open and relatives are welcome to see her at any time.

I feel blessed to have found a nursing home where the staff genuinely care about the residents. The manager is hard working, hands-on, professional and friendly. The team that has been recruited is exceptional - all staff in all departments work hard, are friendly and compassionate. Relatives are made
to feel welcome 24/7.


Clean rooms, freshly laundered clothes and bedding always, service with a smile, DIY issues rectified immediately, food choice extensive, care first class, manager exceptional, concierge wonderful. First impressions amazing and we have no complaints.

Throughout that time, she received wonderful care and attention from all the staff - even when she was a little difficult. In her own words "I cannot fault this place". My father became a resident at Cranmer Court in May 2016 after a 4 months hospitalisation due to bacterial sepsis. Although in the recovery period he was still extremely weak, requiring full nursing care to deal with his physical and emotional needs. However, the nature of his illness indicated that
it was possible that he could make a full recovery and we chose Cranmer Court as it gave us the option of continuing nursing care if he did not improve, to preparing him to leave and live independently. Cranmer Court staff excelled taking my father from a frail, vulnerable, uncooperative newcomer to gaining strength in body and mind. My father left Cranmer Court in September 2016 and has returned to a happy independent life with his wife. We cannot thank them enough for giving our father his life back.

My mother had cancer and we needed the best nursing care for her final weeks. When we arrived at Cranmer Court everything was organised and in place. The staff all knew what they were meant to be doing and got on with doing it. I couldn’t believe the contrast with the home I had just removed her from.
The efficiency and consistency at Cranmer Court was wonderful for us.


Nurses were pro-active, keeping a step ahead of me, thinking and acting upon how they could improve my mother’s deteriorating health. I visited every day, but was never made to feel a nuisance accessing them to discuss what was happening. My mother’s pain was kept under control.


Carers checked on my mother changing her regularly, they were kind & thoughtful. The chef provided the pureed diet without my having to check. The special milkshakes were particularly appreciated.


To have systems in place which provided efficiency & consistency & for everyone to adhere to them is down to the excellent management.

I have had an excellent experience with Cranmer Court. My fears for leaving my mother for respite were removed when I saw that the staff I met there were genuinely kind, caring and patient to the residents. The manager, nurses, carers and the chef showed that it wasn't just a job for them but showed
that they enjoyed caring for the elderly. I like that they have 24hour nurses available for those who need nursing care, which my mother needed as she is diabetic. Her daily medication was given accurately, which is a large number of tablets with insulin injections and was recorded daily in their file. I was impressed how accurately her medication was given, to the same standards as I have seen when she has been in the hospital. Occasionally there was a problem with her incontinence pads, they were not changed as frequently as they should have but they have improved very much in that area. I was also very happy that they do activities for the residents too.

My father was only at Cranmer Court for 3 months and in very poor health when he arrived but the staff made an immediate effort to get to know him. He was a very dignified and private person and he was always treated with respect, patience and kindness. The staff made us, as a family welcome and would
respond to any requests and questions in a calm and professional manner. The staff at Cranmer Court made a difficult situation bearable for dad and our family and we are so grateful.

My father has been a resident at Cranmer Court for the last six months, he is extremely happy to be there.


My father has been treated with the best care from all the staff/nurses and he has also made many friends. The care the staff show to the residents is heart warming. They are treated with the

greatest of respect and in a very friendly manner.


The home is exceptional clean and tidy and my fathers own room is a "home from home". The staff have called me several times and have always been polite and helpful.


The catering and menu choices for each day is superb and the dining area is spotless.


Daily activities at the care home keep my father amused and happy and get him out of his room to mingle with other residents.


I was concerned on a daily basis when my father was in his previous home, now I am so happy to know he is getting 1st rate care and attention. I would not hesitate to recommend Cramer Court to anyone looking for a suitable home for an elderly relative.

The care home my Mum is in is a remarkable place. The staff from the manager down to the domestic staff and all in between are amazing, wonderful, caring people. They always gave time to speak to use regarding any concerns and are extremely kind and caring to Mum. They all treat my Mum with the utmost
respect although at times she can be quite trying. They are always courteous.

Norah Davey is the Manager of Cranmer Court Nursing Home in Warlingham, Surrey where she leads a dedicated staff team providing nursing and residential care for up to 56 older people. Norah has over 16 years of experience managing nursing homes. She has completed a Registered Manager’s Award along with the Gold Standards Framework for Care Homes.


As the Manager of Cranmer Court since 2008, Norah has recruited an outstanding staff team to provide the highest standard of care for the home’s residents. Norah is passionate about palliative care, and uses her extensive skills in this field to provide a welcoming and warm home environment for residents, relatives, and loved ones.


Since joining the team at Cranmer Court, Norah has established the home’s reputation as one which delivers an excellent standard of care through team work, a network of care professionals, and strong communication with residents’ families. Norah instils confidence in her residents with her approachable attitude.
Throughout Norah’s time at Cranmer Court, she has received positive feedback from residents, relatives, and staff in her pursuit to develop a vibrant community.
