Birdscroft Nursing Home, situated in a private road in Ashtead, offers a variety of services including elderly, dementia, respite care and convalescence stays.

The spacious main house provides three pleasant lounges, which creates a relaxing and peaceful environment to spend the day in, whilst overlooking the garden.

Birdscroft offer single bedrooms, of which the vast majority have en suite facilities and 6 en-suite wet rooms. Residents are strongly encouraged to personalise their rooms with their own furnishings in order to make them feel at home.

The team of dedicated staff aim to maintain each resident's dignity and provide a high quality of life, in a calm and personalised environment. Staff strive to understand each resident’s individual needs and build their own personal relationship with them. With comprehensive care assessments, regular monitoring and reviews, staff strive to provide the highest standard of care delivery.

Birdscroft's dedicated activity co-ordinators run regular varied programmes to suit all tastes. Whether it's learning about the internet, visiting local sites or simply a walk, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

The staff make every effort to help residents continue with their own hobbies and interests or to take up something new. Reminiscence therapy is supported by Wi-Fi technology. Residents can, and are encouraged, to contact their relatives through either Skype or WhatsApp and they can also learn computer skills, including how to use the internet and e-mail.

Birdscroft host weekly Yoga 'keep-fit' sessions and musical entertainment is provided by professional artists throughout the year.

Meals are freshly prepared in-house, paying special attention to each resident’s dietary requirements.

The home is regularly visited by external health professionals including GPs, physiotherapists, dietitians, occupational therapist

Everyone looked after my grandmother very well. Could not ask for any better. All staff are lovely, extremely caring and it was so relieving to know that she was in a good place and looked after well.

The staff were very caring and looked after my father well. He had a lovely room with a shower which was very good on the ground floor. It was overlooking the garden. The food was always good and I feel relieved that my Dad spent his last days at Birdscroft and loved it. This is indeed a good feeling.


We

were always welcome to visit him at any time of the day and were always offered tea. The nurses kept us informed of everything and even all the carers were very informative. It was a pleasure seeing my Dad settled in so well at Birdscroft. Thank you to everyone at Birdscroft.

My grandmom has been in Birdscroft Nursing Home for the last 1.5 years. I would say that the care is excellent. As the home is small and has a limited number of residents, they look after my granny very well. They allocated a specific nurse/carer who looks after my granny and whenever I go and visit
her, she explains in detail her medical condition. I suggest everyone go and have a look at the home before making up your mind.

It's pretty good. I will recommend it. My wife has been there two and a half years. We find the staff do a great job, and we are very happy with it.

My Nan has been at Birdscroft nursing home for the past months and despite we were not keen for her to go into care, we were pleasantly surprised by the professionalism, welcome and support we received from the Manager and staff at the home. The whole atmosphere is homely, dining room as you would expect
in a good restaurant and the food is really good. We visit at various times of the day and week, so far we found that not only our Nan but all residents are treated with great respect. The staff knows us very well as if we have been there for a long time. Now with the good weather, we found that Nan and other residents are enjoying themselves in the garden, even having lunch under the pergola in the garden. Thank you for looking after our Nan so well.

My mother was a resident at Birdscroft for a short period of time. Both my sister and I found the home to be very caring, all the staff were very good with all the residents every time we visited. The activities were great and it was a pleasure visiting her and the home. All credit goes to the dedicated
team and senior management.

Everyone is kind, caring and welcoming to residents and family/visitors alike.
They treat the residents with dignity and keep relatives informed about ongoing care.
The nursing home has had many improvements re decor, garden etc. since my mother has become a resident and it has enhanced the experience.
