St George’s is a purpose-built dementia care home. The home is dedicated to caring for adults living with dementia, from early onset to more complex end-of-life needs, the home provides all types of dementia care including nursing, residential, Parkinson’s and short-stay care.

The home has its own dementia champions who work to improve the quality of life for residents through daily activities and opportunities for reminiscence and stimulation. Furthermore, everything at St George’s is on one floor, making it easier for residents to find their way around. The home’s interior has been decorated to suit individuals with dementia, being colour-themed and including memory triggers.

The home has a home for home atmosphere, pleasant communal areas, and a secure well-maintained courtyard garden, it provides a relaxing living environment. The home also benefits from its on-site pub, hairdressers and tea hut for all to enjoy.

All bedrooms have en-suite facilities, the majority lead out to the garden or courtyard area and all come with a 24-hour call system.

Enjoying food is an important part of life. The chefs create well-crafted menus made with the freshest ingredients. Soon after a resident arrives at St George’s, staff discuss their personal preferences and dietary needs with them.

There’s a real sense of community at the home. The staff work to discover what residents enjoy doing and the home's social calendar is organised around those interests. My father has only been at St George's Care Home for 3 nights, but so far he has had an excellent experience, all the staff being very kind, patient and professional. It does feel like a real home which is all we can ask.

I want to highlight the experience and care displayed by both carers and nurses, especially with regards to helping improve my mum's appetite and drinking. The nurse joined in a call with external assessors reviewing my mum's care needs, demonstrating their thorough knowledge of my mum's complex needs
and cognitive behaviour. The team genuinely care about my mum's well being. Their efforts have had a very positive impact on my mothers health.

My sister and I came to see a very old and dear friend to both of us. We found him in good health and fine spirits. We spent a few hours with him sharing memories and discussing past adventures on our boats. We had a great lunch with him which was lovely. The staff we met were great and friendly. We
were joined by two other gentlemen who we also chatted with. And we were treated to a lovely piano recital - very much enjoyed.

Had a lovely morning in the pub with my friend and two other residents. Endless coffee supplied with cakes, delicious! We were offered lunch and had scampy and chips, very nice. One staff member in particular was exceptional, very caring and helpful. All in all a very enjoyable visit.

My father quickly settled into the Home; his health stabilised, and he has. outlived the assessment given to him by hospital staff prior to his entry to St. George's. This is due to the friendly, supportive, caring and attentive staff. There is a warm, communal feel to the place, which is cosy and comfortable,
with news of gardens. There are plenty of activities for residents. Last Christmas the Home was attractively decorated, and birthdays. celebrated too. As far as possible, this seems very much a home-from-home, providing peace, practical and and personal dignity. Visitors are. always welcomed and queries readily answered by administrative and nursing staff. I recommend this home highly, it provides great care and peace of mind.

Mum came to St George's from hospital. She was very confused, lonely, unhappy, did not like change. She took quite a time to adjust from her old life since Dad had died and now she is settled, safe and happy. We both enjoy activities, the christmas was brilliant. The staff are great, always say hello

When life throws you a curveball and you unexpectedly need the help of strangers, you could not find a better team of people than those at St George’s to help. Every single member of staff, reception, housekeeping, carers, nurses and management go that extra mile. There are no words to express the compassion,
kindness, patience and respect that everyone shows, not only to the residents but the visiting family too. Our wishes and concerns were listened to, and we felt so supported. For us as a family, we were comforted knowing that our dad was well cared for when we were not there. His personal care was exemplary, and his medical needs were met thoroughly. We also created some precious memories with the help of the entertainment team. We shall never forget and will be eternally grateful to these very special people who came into our lives, thank you.

This is by far the best home that my father has been in. The staff are amazing, and the level of care he receives is like that from family.
The menu is of high standards, and the staff offer drinks, biscuits and cake throughout the day.
The peace of mind of knowing he's being very well cared for
is comforting in these difficult times as his Dementia takes its toll.
Daily activities of crafts, singing, dancing and petting animals are incredible. The staff captured beautiful photos of him and other residents engaging and participating. The weekly trips out to a multitude of locations for tea, cake and more are extremely well-planned and executed.
For my father, personally, he will be seeing out his last years living his best life. What more could we ask for? Absolutely Amazing Home!

Mum has consistently received great care since moving to St George's Care Home in January 2019. The staff are always cheerful and attentive and we are always called if there are any issues. Mum is less able now but she has always enjoyed the excellent activity programme.

My husband, who is 87 and has Alzheimer's, was moved to St George's six weeks ago after failing to settle down at another care home. The compassion and attention he has received at St George's have enabled him to adapt to a comfortable life with plenty of company and activity going on around him. I
have been consistently impressed with the kindness and 'can do' attitude of all the staff and their determination to give him the personalised care appropriate to his mental and physical needs. Visitors are always made to feel welcome. The home feels like a well-run, friendly and happy organisation and I feel confident that my husband's life is as good as can be expected for someone suffering from this very difficult disease.

My mother has advanced dementia and has been a resident at St George's for six years. My brother and I and our families have always been so impressed by the care and thought that is taken with residents at St George's. From the clinical deputy manager who's amazing nursing care has kept mum alive through
many medical emergencies, to the activities coordinator and her brilliant team who organise an enormous amount of activities, to the chefs who surprise Mum with amazing home made birthday cakes, to the lovely reception staff who always have a kind word, to the cleaning and laundry team who take so much effort, to all the many caring staff (too many to mention). We would recommend it to anyone looking for care for a loved one coming to end of life or with special caring needs. Thank you St George's for all you do.

Mum was a resident for nearly thirteen years. It is very well run, by approachable management. Very welcoming, we could visit whenever we wished. Over the years, as St George's became Mum's home, it became extensions of ours too. It has strong teams of really caring, highly professional carers and nurses.
Support staff from all areas contribute greatly to the smooth and nurturing running of St George's. It has a very special activities department. It arranges many and varied outings. The department listens to the needs and wishes of the residents and responds accordingly. A variety of entertainers, singers and musicians visit. Special days throughout the year are always celebrated. Organised activities and clubs are arranged. For those remaining in their rooms, activities visit them. Everyone is included. St George's kindly, dedicated care and expertise enabled Mum to live the best life her illness would allow and we thank St George's from the bottom of our hearts.

Our dear mum lived here for thirteen years, as happily as her illness allowed. It has a warm, homely feel, caring staff, a fantastic activities department and an outside area with many courtyards, grass, opportunities to sit, stroll, listen to bird songs and tend a vegetable patch. We have been confident
in the nursing care that Mum has received. She has been well looked after in a safe environment. Relatives are welcomed. Memories include Mum meeting Father Christmas, enjoying the delicious home cooked meals, going out to the pantomime and various garden centres, the many musical events around the home, celebrations of special occasions - including birthdays, St Patrick's Day, St George's Day, Chinese New Year etc. Also visits from the ballet, the pat dog, deer and pony, singing 'maybe it's because I'm a Londoner, down at The George and Dragon - St. George's 'pub'. I miss my mum and I miss visiting her at St George's, it became a part of my life as it did hers.

St George's genuinely care for their residents. They care for my Father's needs with dignity and are always on top of anything that might arise. My Father has settled at St George's which makes it easier on our family at a stressful and emotional time. Not only does the wonderful staff support the needs
of my Father, but they also support us/family too. They have also gone above and beyond to find a chair suitable for my Father.

I am originally from Poland. I finished my studies in sociology and started working in the catering industry for the last 14 years.


I have experience supplying meals to schools and have worked in Italian restaurants, pubs and hotels. I started working at St Georges Care Home in March 2020. I am passionate about food and love to cater for everyone’s needs.

I have worked as the activity coordinator at St George’s since June 2001. As a young girl, I trained in fashion journalism at the London College of Fashion in Oxford Street.


I have previously worked as a journalist in local newspapers. I used to write a music column called Sound Scene whereby I interviewed new up-and-coming bands in the local area. My other jobs include working as a nursery assistant for local childcare providers and I was also a civil servant, working for the Inland Revenue.


I love my job - it is varied and each day is vastly contrasting. I work with a very effective team who all bring different qualities and strengths to the department. Ultimately as a team, we all work together to enrich the resident’s lives which is of course our central goal.
