Holly Lodge is a dementia care home, offering tranquillity, luxury living and security for up to 60 residents living with dementia.

Winner of ‘Nursing Home of the Year’ at the Surrey Care Awards 2022 and featured in Knight Frank’s Luxury Care Home Guide for three years running; 2021, 2022 and 2023. It was described as ‘Heartwarming’ by Caring UK Award Judges and praised for their daily goal of making residents and relatives smile and putting the needs of people with dementia at the heart of the home.

Innovatively designed to enhance multi-sensory stimulation and encourage reminiscence, Holly Lodge accommodates people living with different types of dementia at every stage of their journey, offering both residential dementia care and nursing dementia care on a permanent and respite basis.

There are spacious, bright and homely communal areas for entertaining and dining, a dedicated activities room, on-site hair salon, pub, gallery, family room, cinema, and alcove lounges for residents and their loved ones to enjoy. Landscaped gardens provide outdoor spaces for relaxation, complete with a sensory garden.

Compassionate and experienced staff are trained in specialist dementia care, complementary therapies and on-site dedicated dementia care nurses 24-hours a day.

This ensures every resident is happy, secure, and fulfilled in their day-to-day life. The activities team prioritise resident wellbeing by organising a variety of meaningful and joyful group, individual and one-to-one activities and experiences. Activities are multi-sensory, designed to alleviate dementia symptoms; helping to improve concentration and communication, encouraging reminiscence and social interaction.

My sisters and I are very happy with Holly Lodge and the care they provide to our Father. It is a very clean, inviting environment. The staff are just wonderful, they care for Dad's physical needs and also his mental well being. Some staff members have friendly banter with Dad which brightens his day.
The management team of this care home should be commended for the efficient and caring way the home is operated.

From my first contact with Holly Lodge, I was confident that my mother was in safe hands. The staff could not have been more understanding and accommodating, it was a breath of fresh air, having had a difficult experience at another home. Unfortunately, my mother was taken ill and then spent many weeks
in hospital and sadly was only finally transferred in her final days of life. Words cannot express how supportive every single member of the team were, every day until my mother passed away. They treated my mother with the utmost respect and care, along with constantly reassuring my daughter and I. The staff checked on us constantly, always making sure we had everything we needed and my mother was as comfortable as possible. It made both my mother’s end of life journey and my family’s stress and grief so much more bearable and easier to have to go through. I will forever be grateful for their professionalism, care and understanding. I cannot recommend the team highly enough.

The home have been very helpful in transferring from the hospital to Holly Lodge. My Dad is well cared for and they make me aware of any problems.

This is the best nursing home in the country and we are very satisfied with the care Mum has received over the last five and a half years. We are hopeful it will stay that way despite the many difficulties it has faced dealing with Covid and ever-changing government rules. They’ve done a great job so

My uncle is very well cared for. He is always smiling when we visit and enjoying the many activities. Throughout the pandemic we have been kept up to date and even able to visit because they built a covid-safe visiting room. An excellent care for those living with dementia.

Holly Lodge’s care towards residents is genuine and personalised. They take the time to know residents individually which is lovely to see. When my friend arrived at Holly Lodge for the first time, her favourite chocolates and magazine were by her bed, a lovely personal touch on what could have been
a daunting day. Whenever I visit I’m greeted warmly by the staff who all know my name. Holly Lodge genuinely cares for its residents.

After mum was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, then falling and breaking her hip, it became necessary for her to go into full-time care.
We looked at a number of care homes, but when we visited Holly Lodge, it just felt right. Everywhere was spotlessly clean, the rooms are lovely, and the staff are professional
and very friendly.
17-months later, we are convinced we made the right decision with Holly Lodge. All the staff, nurses, carers and support staff have been amazing throughout this very difficult time. Mum is benefiting from the excellent care, nutritious food, and the activities team do a great job of keeping her occupied.
The introduction of the Covid room has enabled limited visiting in a safe and secure environment, which has been a Godsend throughout this pandemic.
I would recommend that Holly Lodge be high on anyone’s list looking to place a loved one into care.

The whole family are pleased that Dad is being cared for at Holly Lodge, following stays in another care home and two assessment centres.
He is now on the correct medication and is settling into his final "home". He needs nursing care, and the staff are friendly, helpful and smiling etc whenever I
have visited. The home itself. is like a five-star hotel and I would recommend it to any family in similar circumstances.

Best place we'd seen on our initial search in September 2016, even more, impressive after significant upgrades in late 2019.
Staff are pleasant, helpful and cheerful, considering the behaviour of some (few) residents - foul language. Forceful resistance to necessary activities, they do very well.
The
good rating I have given, are not to be taken as serious criticism, just minor niggles on occasions.
A well-run place all round.

A lovely home with access to a safe garden where residents can watch the birds in the aviary. In good weather, activities can be held outside under the sun shades and gazebo. The carers are very experienced and both floors have senior carers which are very approachable and willing to help with any problem.
The staff ratio to residents means there is always someone visible on duty.
Nurses and management are very approachable and open to ideas from family and visitors.
A great family room to hold get-togethers/birthdays, makes life seem a bit more normal when your loved one is unable to leave the premises and join other family members for celebrations. Birthdays are always recognised with a lovely cake made by the wonderful catering staff.

The staff at Holly Lodge are friendly. It’s a clean and homely care home and the services provided are excellent. When we mentioned about the food not being quite as hot as it could be, they instantly took it away and reheated it.

Holly Lodge Nursing Home always feels homely to me. The staff are always nice and pleasant. The staff always ask myself or my daughter if we would like a cup of tea or coffee always a piece of cake or biscuits. The manager is always nice if we have any issues he sorts it out right away.

It is a very difficult decision for any family: to relocate a relative into a care home. My sister and I were no different, and we struggled with guilt and worry. It's been nearly a year since our father moved into Holly Lodge and we have now come to terms with it.
We have been so fortunate in finding
such a wonderful place. All of my predetermined ideas of a dementia home have been dispelled. Holly Lodge is bright, airy, clean and has a lovely atmosphere.
The family friendly ethos of the company flows from the managers and senior staff through to all of the nurses, carers and support staff. We are quite happy now as we feel that Dad is now safe, and well looked after. His quality of life and safety have improved no end. The staff are all so caring and the catering is wonderful, benefiting him enormously. To quote dad "it's like living in a five star hotel"!
We have no hesitation to recommend Holly Lodge to anyone in the same unfortunate position as we have been.

Mum and Dad are very well cared for at Holly Lodge and their needs are met in a person-centred way. All staff are pleasant and friendly. They are very quick to respond to residents' needs especially if they are at risk, for example of falls. The cooking is excellent and staff do their utmost to ensure
everyone eats a nutritious and appropriate diet. Activities are varied, with regular visits from entertainers from outside the home. The standard of cleanliness is very high. As a visitor, I have always felt very welcome there. This is an expensive home but I think this is reflected in the high number of staff and their very high quality.

Rico finished his degree of Business Administration Major in Management in 2001 in the Philippines. He has always worked in the care industry particularly with Dementia since 2006. Rico has also studied Health and Social Care NVQ level 3 and 4 and participated in various training and workshops related to care and Dementia.
Rico is very passionate about making a difference in the lives of our residents especially with Dementia and likes to be positive in approaching any challenges.
Being a manager, Rico is very approachable. He ensures that the home delivers a compassionate and high quality of care with a homely atmosphere. As a leader, he leads by example and supports the staff in maximising their strengths and potentials.
