Huntington House, part of The Huntington & Langham Estate, is a charming Victorian country house offering excellent nursing care, set within 30 acres of stunning gardens and grounds.

Established in 1978 and owned and run by the Hoare family from day one, Huntington House has a fantastic reputation for its holistic care and compassion. In 2013, the family enhanced their offering to the community by opening a specialist dementia facility onsite, Langham Court.

They have instilled their family ethos to create a wonderfully welcoming atmosphere at Huntington House, and their professional and friendly staff are always willing to go the extra mile to ensure residents' happiness.

Huntington House is all-inclusive, meaning that everything the home offers is part of a single weekly fee, including high-quality care, the hair salon, the bar bistro, fine dining and entertainment.

Visits to Huntington House are warmly welcomed – every day is an open day, so you are invited to pop in anytime for a tea and chat.

    We provide dementia care for early-stages of dementia. Specialist dementia care is provided in our other care home, Langham Court, which is also on The Huntington & Langham Estate.

Does not "feel" like an old person's home - more like a hotel for the elderly with the bistro/bar/hair salon. Compassionate care is provided with humour, friendship and professionalism. Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for.

I came for respite care following a stay in hospital, being unable to go home and live alone. The 2 weeks spent at Huntington House has returned me to full health and I am able to leave stronger and fitter than for some time. An outstanding director who is very sensitive to residents. Huntington House is a special place, not only is it family run but the home is clean, pretty and has beautiful views over a forest/woodland. The rooms are comfortable with all amenities required and some lovely staff. There is a water fountain,
fish pond, ponies and a house cat. Activities and trips to join. A stylish, peaceful home with a private room to book for guests/family meals and get-togethers.

Overall - good/satisfactory one week stay. Food good, staff willing to help as much as possible as individuals. But not always as a coordinated team e.g problems with coordination of information given at the beginning of my stay e.g what underwear for each day and night. If you only nominate one or
two key people being informed of what I needed it would help avoid any confusion. May I suggest more discussions are needed before my stay in the future. Thank you.

Staff friendly and helpful but due to staff shortages are inclined to be forgetful when asked for clean towels, drinks etc. Otherwise very good.

Thoroughly rested (which was what I needed). I am very well fed - I feel it has done my general health good. I was very well cared for during 3 visits to the day clinic and surgery. I could not have coped with this where I was living.


I enjoyed friendships and the support of all the staff.

To come here after surgery and before being able to manage at home alone was very beneficial. All the staff were attentive, patient and cheerful. The food was a bonus, well cooked, balanced with plenty of choices. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean and well equipped and everywhere nicely decorated.

Our dearest mum has been at Langham Court for 2 years and continues to get great care. All the long and short-term staff are kind, caring and supportive. The roles they do cannot be easy, they are carried out ensuring mum hangs on to her dignity.

My mother has been at this nursing home for several months and has received excellent care throughout this time. The staff - across all areas - are very professional and dedicated and at the same time, exceptionally caring and kind. Residents are treated with great warmth and dignity and in particular,
are treated as individuals. The food is very good with choices each day and a range of alternative options and the rooms are very comfortable and kept very clean. Outside, the gardens are lovely and on a level for residents to be able to enjoy easily. There is an excellent activities and trips programme too.

Very satisfied with the care my mother has received even the past (nearly 3) years. Home is bright, friendly and nicely "non-corporate".
The attitude of staff towards residents is warm and respectful. Food generally good although occasionally disappointing.

I came to Huntington House from the hospital on 7th March after being quite ill for 2 weeks.
All I can say is that from day one my treatment has been excellent from all points of view. I am now a different person from the one that arrived here.
2 years ago my husband, now sadly deceased, stayed
at Huntington House for several weeks and experienced the same wonderful care.

Charlie

Charlie Hoare

Job Title: Managing Director

Joined: 2014

Having grown up in Huntington House and spent my childhood living alongside the people we've looked after, I have a unique insight into care. As a result, I am always trying to find ways to make our care home more of a, well, home. I've pioneered a care model that breaks down the barriers between residents and staff, and have been invited to speak at industry events about the importance of relationship-centred care and creating a sense of belonging in an industry that often aspires to be hotel-like with more emphasis on hospitality than homeliness.
Pre-Covid, my own family played a big part in our home, and we are currently training our new puppy (a miniature dachshund) to be a therapy dog that will hopefully soon be coming to the homes with me on a daily basis.
I am always more than happy to chat to anyone trying to figure out the best way forward for their loved one requiring care, so please don't hesitate to contact us and ask for me if I can help in any way at all.
