Oakcroft House provides nursing, residential and short stay care. They’re there when you and your loved ones need them most. For planned respite or last-minute trips. A safe space to recover after an operation. To experience what their home’s like before moving long-term. To just relax. Whatever the reason, their doors are open.

Close to the centre of West Byfleet village, the large house features many areas for residents to spend time in, and welcome friends and family into the home. With wheelchair friendly pathways throughout the large garden, the surroundings are ideal for enjoying the summer months.

All bedrooms have ensuite facilities and are pleasantly decorated and furnished. There is an onsite library and residents also have access to Wifi, relaxation therapies, a nutritionist and an optician.

The chef produces tasty seasonal meals every day to ensure residents eat a variety of delicious and healthy food.

There’s a real sense of community at the home. The staff work to discover what residents enjoy doing and the home's social calendar is organised around those interests. Dedicated activity coordinators help ensure residents are able to pursue their hobbies and interests, as well as organising a range of activities which include bingo, quizzes, flower arranging and music sessions, there is so much for residents to enjoy. Regular trips to the garden centre are also enjoyed as are shopping trips and themed monthly events.

My mum and dad became residents at Oakcroft last year - May 22. We were made very welcome by all the staff, and Mum and Dad's emotional response to having left their home was dealt with very kindly. The environment, carpets, garden etc, have certainly impressed over the time we have been there. The
new manager seems very capable and has certainly driven improvements. Small things - cleanliness in bathrooms could sometimes be better, and it would be nice if visitors could be included when tea or coffee is being given to residents. It is expensive, approx £13,000 for both parents - a couples discount would be appreciated. The staff are great.

My friend is unable to move unaided. She spends time being hoisted between a chair and a bed. She has not left her room since her arrival. The only shower is on level 1. Even though we were told prior to her arrival that there were ensuite facilities. She has no access as the lift is too small for the
hoist. Physios have tried and found a suitable wheelchair but the home manager refuses delivery. Senior Bupa staff have been contacted and made promises but nothing has changed. Food is adequate to uneatable (we have been taking in separate supplies). At least individual staff are polite and try to support our friend.

This home is not of the standard we were led to expect. Food is very poor, and choices are limited. As with any care home, some of the staff are excellent, but staff turnover means very few become "friends". There is a somewhat uneasy atmosphere in general between staff and management. In my view, the
manager has no empathy and is often unaware of the resident's feelings. Could not recommend it to others as things stand.

Overall, pretty good.
Still understaffed, especially at weekends.
Lunchtimes vary - should be 12 to 12.30.
Staff are very friendly.

On the whole, most experiences and kindness are very good, until the routine is broken, and I am a creature of routines and habit. One lady is very good at getting us motivated with things to do. My room is very nice, looks over the garden and I can bird watch. The food is very nice and adequate. Carers
are always on call, and I am treated with dignity. Noticed we are short-staffed, which causes havoc at times.

I was moved into Oakcroft House Care Home on 24th January after spending several weeks in hospital with Covid. I was put into a room with no bath/shower for two weeks of isolation. The room was scruffy, paintwork on the skirting board, scruffy, bathroom very very shabby. Had to wash my hair in the sink.
Carers too busy cleaning and making beds to "care" for the residents. All I could hear was wailing "help me". I am a smoker, and I had to ring a bell for a carer to take me out for a cigarette - I feel this is because the management told them to ignore me. I was sent away with a couple of days' medications.

It is the staff that make Oakcroft House Care Home special. They are exceptional, professional but friendly, caring and compassionate. I am relieved to know that my mother is receiving such a high level of care. I would recommend the home to anyone.

This was an excellent care home until the manager left in August 2021, and he has not been replaced. Since then staffing levels and therefore standards, have been decreasing, sometimes with extremely distressing results. Agency staff abound. The staff do their best but are struggling. Management is
now provided by the Regional Director but she is not there full time. Many staff clearly unhappy.

My mother has been in Oakcroft for a couple of months since being discharged from the hospital. The manager could not have been more helpful and kind during this very stressful time, and Mum has settled in well. All the staff have been very considerate while working during this pandemic, and hopefully,
we can soon return to relatives being able to visit at any time. I have seen the standard of care at many nursing homes and am very happy to have found this particular home.

My mother spent a year at Oakcroft House Care Home. During this time the home was dealing with the consequences of the Covid pandemic and lockdown. This was very trying for all the staff but they stayed so positive and caring towards my 105-year mother until she passed away earlier in the year. The
nursing and caring staff were so professional and kind in all their dealings with my mother's needs. Oakcroft did all it could to facilitate a few visits during this past difficult year. I would thoroughly recommend Oakcroft as a nursing home to consider for a loved one or relative.

Staff at Oakcroft, thank you for all the love and professionalism you have given him over the last three and a half years.
Nothing has been to much trouble - you all work so hard, your dedication to the residents is excellent.
He always looked clean and tidy, which pleased me no end. I wish to say
the atmosphere is always warm and welcoming. He loved his breakfast club, and always enjoyed his food.
Once again, thank you all from the manager to the laundry lady.

My mother suffered from Dementia and could not walk or care for herself in the last 2 years of her life. So she lived at Oakcroft where she was well cared for by the lovely staff and my father, my sister, all the grandchildren and I were able to visit her whenever we liked, which we did every day including
Christmas Day. I think Mum could be a bit of a handful at times but the staff were always cheerful and professional when handling her, always leaving her with a smile on her face. She was kept busy with activities and entertainers or in her lovely bright room watching TV and DVDs when feeling antisocial. It's worth mentioning that the staff were also very good to us too, always pleased to see us, always time to chat and always offering us a cup of tea. We couldn't recommend Oakcroft House highly enough.

My father-in-law went into Oakcroft House for end of life care. He was kept pain free, comfortable and all of his needs were met with dignity and compassion.


He had a lovely sunny room with a nice outlook. The staff at Oakcroft are amazing, and nothing was ever too much trouble. I would have no hesitation

in recommending Oakcroft House to anyone who may be looking for a care home.

I transferred my aunt here from a care home in Wales to be nearer to the family. She was on a rapid decline health-wise, had become wheelchair-bound, uncaring of her appearance and her memory was poor.
With the care and attention shown to her at Oakcroft House, there has been a complete turnaround
in her attitude and memory.
The staff and home manager are wonderful and extremely caring and go above and beyond. With their help my aunt has attended a family wedding and christening during the 2 years she has been here and regularly comes to visit us for Sunday lunch.
The cleanliness, maintenance and food are all exceptional and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

I honestly couldn't have wished for a greater team of people to provide such love and care to my grandad during his time at Oakcroft House. The staff here are all absolutely amazing, friendly, devoted, dedicated individuals who come together to create the most wonderful team. My grandad really enjoyed
his time here. I know this because from the moment he moved in, his beaming smile was restored and this certainly continued throughout his stay. The activity facility is brilliant, with a whole variety of things to do. This was definitely one of his favourite places to be. The house itself is kept beautifully clean throughout. Overall, I would highly recommend Oakcroft House Care Home! I will forever be grateful for the pure happiness and all the lovely things my grandad got to experience here. Thank you.

Oakcroft became my Mother’s home 10 years ago. My Father had been in the same home 7 years prior to my Mother and there was no question on which home we were choosing. A number of the staff were still at Oakcroft and some are still here to this day, which in my eyes says a lot. The staff are all so
friendly, which makes Oakcroft the home it is today.
I wish to thank the staff for being such stars during this pandemic and being on the ball made Oakcroft a safe place for all our loved ones.
I would highly recommend Oakcroft, whether it’s for respite or a future home for your loved ones.

My aunt was admitted to Oakcroft due to a traumatic stroke with numerous disabilities. Her life expectancy was very uncertain. She surprised us all by remaining here for four years and five months. The care she received was excellent, the staff cheerful, kind and hard-working. The activities, garden
and indoor spaces provided an unthinkable quality of life regardless of disabilities. Most of all, the love and dignity shown to her provided a secure, happy environment to end her last years. I would not hesitate to recommend this care home, with heartfelt thanks to all.
