Queen Elizabeth Park provides residential, nursing and dementia care with love and kindness, treating residents as the individuals that they are.

Following personalised care plans designed to meet the individual needs of each resident, the team strives to provide the reassurance that your loved one is being cared for by a team you can trust and rely on. They work hard to involve friends and family in everyday life at the home too.

The home organises a calendar of meaningful activities to suit all tastes and abilities, to support residents’ overall health and wellbeing; from themed parties to choir practice, to djembe drumming and art tutorials, as well as welcoming visits from local musicians, performers, artists and schoolchildren. Residents also enjoy regular days out on the minibus to local places of interest, and cultivate connections with local mum and toddler playgroups, charity partners, and cultural institutions.

My relative seems very happy to be at QEP which she regards as 'home'. Although her short-term memory is now poor, she enjoys the varied activities on offer and the peace and security that QEP offers her.

QEP is a friendly and welcoming Home. The nursing care on the 1st Floor is outstanding. Nurses and carers pull together as a dedicated team who have supported my husband with compassion and understanding through some traumatic times over the past seven years. Although the work is physically demanding
and emotionally draining, nothing is ever too much trouble and residents, however difficult, are always treated with dignity and respect. For the past seven years the staff have supported both of us with love and friendship which we will never forget.

The home is happy and helpful, clean and tidy, it has a extensive activity programme which include visits by theatre groups, musicians, weekly opportunity for residents to go out into the community and in house activities also. Although the time mum is there is difficult and there are things that could
be improved she is well cared for.

On entering the home there is a warm, friendly and welcoming experience. Our whole family were very impressed with the warm and loving and caring attitude to both my husband and us. Nothing was too much trouble. In spite of the work being very hard and tiring, the staff are very cheerful to both the
residents and their family. There are not enough words to express how much it meant to us during a very painful time, the love and care we received.

Our father was admitted to first floor and Queen Elizabeth Park, in December after six weeks in Hospital. He was only there for a month but was kept comfortable and pain free, he looked very much at ease and peaceful. We would like to thank all the first floor staff for their care and compassion in
making dad's last days to tranquil.

My mum was a resident on the 2nd floor of Queen Elizabeth. This is a secure floor for the residents own well being. The staff are kind, caring supportive, they understand the complex needs of dementia. They always treated mum with respect and kindness, they made sure all her needs were met and offered
reassurance when she was confused. They also offered support for the family and always kept us informed.

My mother was a resident from March 2014 until her death in February 2015. She was very happy and content as she was surrounded by caring and supportive staff who were interested in her. In all the time she was there, there was never anything other than animated and smiling. I think her naughty sense
of humour helped as she liked to engage with people and was certainly encouraged to do so. We visited most days and were welcomed as part of a large family which is now QEP run. Everyone is invited and encouraged to join in, and we still enjoy visiting even though mum is not there.

All the staff at all levels were caring, respectful and calm. The home itself is always very clean and tidy. It didn't smell at all. The home always ran smoothly. Requests from my father or myself were dealt with promptly and efficiently. There are plenty of activities for residents to participate in
and a very comfortable cinema room for residents to use at any time.

Job Title: Home Manager

Heather De Ninis has a wealth of care home experience working in care for over 32 years having started her career as a carer. She has a comprehensive understanding of how care homes operate having worked in varying roles including housekeeping, catering and maintenance!
