Robertson Nursing Home, is a warm and welcoming nursing home set in beautiful landscaped gardens. The home is located close to the picturesque Surrey Hills countryside and within easy reach of Godalming, Guildford and the A3.

The home takes a compassionate approach to the personal care and attention of older people, giving them real quality of life in a homely setting. Accommodation is available to residents in the form of single and double rooms, many with adapted en-suite facilities.

Robertson Nursing Home is part of Beritaz Care, a dynamic family-owned group with extensive experience and a reputation for providing the highest level of care and support, the same kind of care that they would want for their own relatives.

The home provides a variety of care services to meet the needs of residents, including both residential and nursing care. Long-term care is offered as well as short-term respite care, day care, convalescent care and palliative care. The home’s skilled team provide caring and compassionate support for individuals suffering from a range of specialist medial conditions.

My father moved into Robertson Nursing Home in November 2022 after several weeks in hospital, from the moment he arrived he received such wonderful care from the staff, everyone is so friendly and happy to help and my father has settled in extremely well, it is a huge relief for me to know that he is
happy and well cared for. When my father first arrived at Robertsons he was very frail but after all the support and wonderful freshly cooked food he receives he has gained strength and mobility and is back to his old self. The home is in the process of being decorated and my father has a lovely room, there are lots of daily activities for him to get involved in and he especially enjoyed the coronation party. I would recommend Robertson House to anyone looking for a nursing home for their loved ones and I can’t thank the staff enough for all they do for my Dad and for the support they give me.

We visited Robertsons on the occasion of my aunt's 100th Birthday. She has been a resident at Robertsons for some time and has been extremely well cared for at all times. On each of my visits, I have been very well received and the care and support given to my aunt is excellent. I would thoroughly recommend
Robertsons, Godalming to anyone seeking to place their senior relatives in a care home in the near vicinity.

Just when we were at the end of our tether Robertsons Care Home staff appeared as if by magic, and I don’t say that lightly. Without a doubt, Robertsons made the difference between worrying every single day about my fathers situation to knowing he was in the most competent of hands, cared for with respect
and great compassion.
In closing, I’m not quite sure how we would’ve got on without the wonderful staff and facilities who did the most amazing job in making the last weeks of dad’s life comfortable.

My dad moved into Robertson Nursing Home in April 2021 and sadly passed away in June this year. His care at Robertson's has been wonderful, and all the staff were so friendly, kind, caring and very attentive to his needs. We were always made to feel welcome and included. He enjoyed the good food, his
room was kept very clean, and the care staff were extremely attentive. I am very grateful and touched by the care the staff gave him in his last few days. I cannot thank them enough and would not hesitate to recommend it to others.

My husband has been a resident at Robertson Nursing Home for the last 6 weeks since his discharge from hospital with a new diagnosis of a neurodegenerative condition. We could not ask for better care. Every single member of staff is wonderful. We have been particularly impressed by how attentive they
have been in recognising and adapting to his changing needs and requirements. The food is wonderful, much better than he ever got at home! But above all, the staff are just amazing. Care work can be tough and carers are so often underappreciated. These lovely people show such commitment, skill and compassion. It does feel as though we are now part of the big Robertson family and they have helped make a difficult transition very much better.

Our mother was cared for at Robertson Nursing Home for some three and a half years. We chose it because it felt so friendly and welcoming. We were not disappointed. Mum moved into care when her dementia worsened and spent the last years of her life at the home, happy and cheerful, in a room she made
her own. She loved to laugh (mostly at herself!) and became part of the Robertson’s family. The love and affection for her which was so evident amongst the staff was a great comfort to us. As we said at her funeral, you are wonderful people providing extraordinary care. Thank you.

We chose Robertson’s Nursing home based on the feel of it and the lovely staff. There are other homes which may look more aesthetically appealing but may not have the warmth that this home provides. The food is good and there’s plenty of it. The staff are amazingly kind, helpful and reassuring. There
is a smell in the hallway upstairs which is a bit off-putting at first but the rooms where the resident's sleep are clean and fresh smelling. My mum wasn’t at all keen at first, not helped by her Alzheimers, but has come to enjoy living there in the last few weeks. Both my parents are doing so much better health-wise since being at Robertson’s as they are so well looked after. Family get weekly updates and photos which is really comforting. Overall, I would have to say this home is excellent and if I ever need to be in one in the future I’d like it to be in one as warm and friendly as this one.

The service, care and friendship given to my husband and myself in the final three months of his life was exemplary. I cannot speak highly enough of Robertson Care Home. We were always welcomed and made to feel at home. My husband's room was decorated with his favourite pictures and memorabilia.
His
care was excellent always shaved, nice clean clothes, comfortable seating.m there was always a cheery hello and head popped around the door when he called out to carers passing by his open door.
I shall always be grateful to the care the staff gave him in his end of life week

Of all the nursing homes we looked at we thought Robertsons had the best care and came highly recommended by current and former residents and their families.
All the staff are friendly, helpful and motivated and they create a very homely atmosphere for the residents. Nothing is too much trouble and
the residents are treated as individuals. Very high standards of safety during Covid. Very impressive.

For the time my mother was at Robertson's during 2021, the staff were so caring of my mother, family and friends. Nothing was a problem for them and they were always there to answer questions on my mother's health if needed. I cannot rate Robertson Care Home and staff highly enough. Thank you Robertson's!

My father recently stayed at Robertson for a period of respite care. Throughout his recuperation, he was really well looked after by the staff and was able to leave feeling refreshed and back to his old self. In my father's words, he said that the manager and all the staff were very friendly and helpful
and everyone was willing to do anything to help him. He thought the food was good and enjoyed the endless cups of tea during the day. We were always kept fully informed of how Dad was doing by the manager and she always had the time to talk to us, when we were deciding what was best for him. Robertson always felt a happy place to visit and all the staff were always welcoming and seemed happy to be there. We had no hesitation in leaving Dad there and always felt he was safe and well cared for. We would have no hesitation in recommending Robertson to others.

My mother suffered two falls in two days after leaving hospital. Very quickly I realised we needed help and the manager at Robertson Nursing Home quickly stepped in to provide guidance and assistance. My mother became a resident on the same day that I called and I felt relieved that she was going to
be properly looked after. The manager and her team are so very helpful and kind and now I know that my mother is safe and properly looked after. The nurses at the home kindly keep me updated if there are any problems, and my mother has the attention and care that she needs. I think the team at the home are great and I am grateful for the help and support that they provide. I would recommend this Care Home.

This has been a ghastly year when visits have either been outside under a gazebo and socially distanced or very recently in the home after tests and wearing PPE. Throughout all this, there has been constant communication between the Home and the family. When my mother aged almost 100, got confused
there was always someone there to reassure her. We have laughed at this being the only time in her life that she has had a ponytail but today one of the staff had cut and blow-dried her hair and she looked like the mother, granny and GanGan we all love. I’m so grateful that we have this gem of a home near us.

My mother went into Robertson Nursing Home after a very bad fall and a brief spell in hospital over Christmas; she was 99 years old. From the minute Robertson’s took charge of her, nothing was too much trouble for them. The management kept in constant, almost daily contact with me and were always happy
to answer any queries I had. Every member of staff I came into contact with was absolutely charming and dedicated.
Mother had a delightful little room that looked out onto the lovely garden. Although this was to be the last few months of her life, I couldn’t have wished for her to be in a more caring and loving environment.

My mother was a resident at Robertson before she sadly passed away. She was extremely happy there and described the home to me as ‘brilliant’. She also liked her room and said that the food provided was very good. I consider it to be a first-class home with very friendly and very capable staff. It is

Gabriella

Gabriella Konczol

Job Title: Registered Manager

I am delighted to have been the Registered Manager at Robertson Nursing Home since January 2023, after taking on the role of Home Manager in 2021. During my two years as Home Manager, I am so proud to have witnessed how far the home and the team have come, even seeing the home named as a finalist for ‘Nursing Home of the Year’ at the 2023 Surrey Care Awards.


I hadn’t worked in care before coming to the UK in 2010, in my home country of Hungary I achieved a bachelor's diploma in Sales and Marketing. The care sector was very different for me at first, but I always like to challenge myself. I absorbed all the knowledge I needed working alongside the former home manager and was given the opportunity to utilise my skills, which helped me to develop in my role.


Working flexibly after having my children was a great advantage. This allowed and helped me to continue to gain leadership skills, and confidence in dealing with difficult situations, and helped to create an excellent team by recruiting staff with the right values.


What I enjoy most about working at Robertson Nursing Home is having the opportunity to work alongside an inspiring team, as well as receiving support from my fellow managers at our sister homes within Beritaz Care.

I joined the Robertson team in 2023, having worked at their sister home, Ashton Manor since 2014. I am proud to have taken on the role of Support Manager at Robertson.


Before coming to England I had never worked in care and had zero knowledge of the industry, I didn’t know what to expect and my English was very poor. I needn’t have worried, from the get go I was greeted warmly and made to feel very welcome by the entire Beritaz family. The caring, considerate managers and the values of their homes make you want to do well. During my time with Beritaz Care, I have had the opportunity to improve my English and take part in training and qualifications to further my skills.


The residents are great and because we use a person centred approach, respect them, consistently meet their needs and provide friendly, caring, trusting and peaceful environment, they feel safe.

Job Title: Clinical Lead

Joined: 2014

I started work as a nurse in an orphanage, caring for around 100 children, and studied English in my spare time. I then went to work in a hospital where I spent eight years, which was wonderful even though the work was very hard. During this time I also studied Management and Marketing for four years.


I decided I needed another challenge, so I came to England to work as a nurse. My first year at Robertson was hard as I was still learning the language, but I did not want to give up as I am a fighter and I hate to run from problems. My confidence increased with big support from Carla, Penny, Dr Grove and all the staff at Robertson: I love them very much and now I find myself inside a big family, all working hard, succeeding and moving forward together. We all want to improve the quality of life for our residents and other people who trust us.

Evelina Gavrila

Job Title: Home Administrator

Joined: 2013

I joined the team at Robertson Nursing Home in January 2013 and felt so at home from the start. In 2022 I was promoted to the role of Team Leader.


I previously studied law but never had the chance to practice however, since coming to Robertson I’m pleased to say that I have improved my English and have started on my NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care. I was promoted to the role of Home Administrator in September 2022.


I love the Robertson team, it feels like a family, even more so since my husband is part of the team. I enjoy working here and I think the best thing, as others have said, is how much support I’ve received from everyone.

Job Title: Chef

Finalist in the Surrey Care Awards 2023.


It was my mum who inspired me to work in care, seeing how happy she was and I wanted to do and feel the same happiness. I worked as a carer for approximately 11 years but when a vacancy opened up for a cook, another passion of mine I was keen to take up the position and enjoy every minute of what I do.


I have achieved many things since working at Robertson Nursing Home, including NVQ level 3 in care and an NVQ level 2 in Catering, but my biggest achievement was receiving the Surrey Care Association Chef of the Year Award in 2019, this was an amazing time for me.


We are one big family, you are valued and your opinions count. The manager always has time for you, she is always there for you and ready to listen to any concerns you may have.

Job Title: Cook

I’m one of the longest-serving members of staff at Robertson Nursing Home having first started in the early 1990s. Prior to working in care at the age of 16, I worked at Unsted Park on a YTS Scheme, but care work ran in the family, both my mum and sister worked as carers which inspired me to do the same.


Robertson Nursing Home is like a second family, there is always someone to talk to. I enjoy my work and despite living with Dyslexia I achieved NVQ 2 & 3 in care, I couldn’t have done this without the continued support of the team.


I now work as part of the kitchen team as a Cook, a role which I really enjoy. Robertson Nursing Home is a friendly place to work, everyone is helpful, and you will always be supported by management to other members of the team

I have had a varied career, working in the building trade, a lorry driver, working in an abattoir, working in sales and prior to starting work at Robertson Nursing Home I worked as a senior carer in another care home.


I am the homes maintenance man using my skills I picked up in my early career, this is also a varied role and everyday can be different. The training on offer is great and has personally given me the opportunity to grow and learn new skills.


I would encourage anyone to come and work at Robertson Nursing Home, it’s a great place to work, we have a great team of staff who work together really well in a family atmosphere.

Job Title: Registered Nurse

I spent three years in a medical college in my native Bulgaria, studying to become a general nurse. I worked in various departments including endocrinology, mainly with diabetic patients, trauma and orthopaedic department before coming to England.


I started work as a Care Assistant at Springkell House, becoming Senior Carer four months later. Springkell House is purely residential, so I was given the opportunity to move to Robertson Nursing Home to continue in my profession as a Nurse.


I am very blessed to be with a company willing to support me, provide guidance and help me acquire valuable skills and confidence. I am continuing to enjoy my work; I feel welcomed and supported, and love the friendly environment and atmosphere.


I know my manager is always there for me, and that she will give me the best possible help and advice when it comes to developing my career.

I enjoy working at the Robertson Nursing Home because it is like an extended family; it gives me a sense of pride knowing we are all doing our very best to give our residents what they deserve.

I have been part of the nursing team at Robertson Nursing Home since 2017. Ever since I was a little girl I said I wanted to be a nurse, my mum was a nurse, which influenced me so much growing up. I enjoy working with people, that’s a big part of why I love doing what I do. Before coming to Robertson I had worked in other nursing homes and spent some time working in hospitals.


My role at the home involves looking after our residents and contributing to their care, as well as assisting and supervising the care staff. When I look at the residents and see they are happy and that the carers are treating them well, that makes me very glad. It’s important to all of us that the residents are treated as if they are in their own homes and are able to make their own choices, they feel comfortable and have their independence here. I really enjoy working at Robertson, the home environment, the teamwork and the relationships I get to build with the residents make it an enjoyable place to come to work each day.

Alina Georghe

Job Title: Team Leader

I have been a part of the Robertson Nursing Home team since 2018 and before that, I worked as a nurse in Romania for 12 years. I began working at the home as a Care Assistant before moving into the role of Team Leader after 3 years. I support the team working on the floor, oversee new admissions and keep our residents’ care plans up to date, as well as many other tasks. I find the work very interesting, every day is different here which I like but I never know where the time goes.


I loved working closely with the residents as a Care Assistant, but at the same time, as a Team Leader, I feel like I can have more influence over their care and be involved in creating plans for better care. As a Team Leader, I get to make the residents’ lives better in a different kind of way and make sure their dignity is being upheld. We are a family here, we help each other out and work well as a team. It’s the same atmosphere in all the Beritaz homes, there is a family feel throughout.


I really enjoy my job, at the start it felt very different to my experience working as a nurse and I was quite scared. Looking back I can now see how far I have come and how much confidence I have gained in my time at Robertson. I have grown up since I came here and my time at the home has helped me to grow in many ways.

Job Title: Care Assistant (Nights)

As soon as I started working in the care industry I understood the feeling of fulfilment you get knowing you are helping people and contributing to society. I have been a Care Assistant at Robertson since the summer of 2022 and immediately found it to be a very affectionate role.


I really enjoy talking to the residents and getting to know them more and more every single day, as well as the bonds that we naturally build over time. My job is all about looking after the residents and their care needs. Everyone here has different abilities and mobility needs, it can be challenging at times but rewarding too. You have to be very careful, it’s not a normal job as it involves caring for other people, and empathy is so important.


Teamwork is key to what we do, without proper teamwork and communication it’s impossible to provide good care. That’s what make Robertson so different and what works so well here, it’s all about the teamwork.
