When my father came here, he was isolated emotionally and physically. That has all changed due to the intense care he has received by the fantastic staff. He is always very clean in both himself personally and environmentally. The care and attention is first class, delivered with both respect and empathy.
The staff have gone to great lengths to get to know who he is, both present version and very importantly who he was before becoming ill.

My mum has been in Warrengate for over a year. Mum can be extremely challenging in her behaviour. All the staff are supportive and do their best to help mum. Our family is very happy with everything here. There was an issue with mum's clothes which was raised with the staff and was dealt with. I would
have no hesitation in recommending Warrengate to family and friends.

My husband has lived at Warrengate Nursing Home since November 2016. He has been well looked after. The staff are gentle and caring as my husband has deteriorated. The nurses and carers have been very kind to me as him. I would recommend Warrengate Nursing Home for someone who has Alzheimer's. I looked
after my husband for almost 11 years and know how hard it can be so he needed a gentle type of caring and got it.

My mother receives extremely good care at Warrengate Nursing Home. Staff are extremely patient and kind. My mother can prove difficult at times but is dealt with in a very caring way distracting her when needed. Every attempt to get her to join in activities but respect her if doesn't want to.

The staff are always smiling and welcoming. Although my dad has advanced dementia he seems content and happy at Warrengate Nursing Home. He is always treated with empathy and respect. The food always looks excellent and dad eats well and enjoys it. His room is always clean and tidy and clothes are clean.
The staff and carers are absolute angels, a credit to Warrengate. I am in no doubt that my dad is in the best nursing home there is with the best staff.

I found all staff on my visits extremely helpful and was impressed with the way residents were treated according to their individual needs and abilities. The end of life care was also excellent and I was kept well informed and treated with sympathy by all members of staff at all times.

An excellent, well-run, specialist dementia care home. The team have worked tirelessly to settle Mum and care for her with dignity. She has late-stage dementia and needs round the clock care for a range of issues. A special mention is The Nursing Home Manager who is an excellent advocate for Mum and
her family.

I cannot fault Warrengate Nursing Home my husband has been in Warrengate since Nov 2015, myself and family have gone at different times, the carers are so good with each one in the home. I've been at meal times, early morning, they're washing floors, changing beds, they have had two BBQ's this year
out in their lovely gardens, it just feels like home from home. They always have a smile when you visit even though there are some difficult days, I wish I could reward them in some way. You only read about the not so good homes, not the ones that are good, the manageress, also the owner finds time to talk to all in the home.

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.322)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.322) out of 10 for Warrengate Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.4 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.972 for Warrengate Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (69 Excellents x 5) + (2 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 71 Ratings = 4.972

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.35 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Warrengate Nursing Home is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 40 registered maximum number of service users is 8. 6 Positive Reviews ÷ 8 = 0.75

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Biju George

Job Title: Registered Manager

Biju graduated as a nurse in India before coming to the UK. In India, the elderly are the most important part of the community. They are to be respected and listened to and Biju tries to bring that ethos to the forefront of care at Warrengate. The home looks after incredibly complex clients and is often able to take residents which other homes wouldn’t. As a manager, Biju really tries to empower the team so they can grow in their roles. There is a lot of importance placed on good communication and making sure everyone is involved in the direction of the home.
