Recently passed away in hospital, my father was resident at Woodside Nursing home from 1st August 2024 to January 2025. I visited him every week, and the more time that passed the more it because apparent to me how excellent the care is at this nursing home. I know the food is of a really high standard,
I know the activities are the same. And the staff are amazing, every single one of them. My father was not the easiest person in the world to take care of, mental health issues as well as physical health issues, and it has not been an easy job at all for the staff. But absolutely he has been treated always with respect, care, patience, warmth. All of which after a while had been missing from his previous care home. The continual presence of the same staff day after day, shift after shift, helps so much a resident with memory issues, and I always saw the same happy faces each time I visited. I cannot rate this nursing home highly enough, absolutely top class.

Thank you so much for the lovely review. We all miss your dad very much and he really was a great character and I will miss his cheeky little wink.

My mum is currently a resident at Woodside View Home, and we are very pleased with her care. All the staff are very friendly and very caring. Mum is well looked after, she tells me she enjoys the food.
Mum came here from the hospital, and as soon as she arrived, the care she received was such a relief
and still is very good.

On my first visit, I found the staff, including the manager, kind, and courteous and all the residents in the sitting room were treated with kindness and dignity. The activities staff member took time to explain the activities available for my mum and I felt she was comfortable there and well cared
for.

Best care home I have seen. Lovely staff and management. I would not want my mother to be anywhere else. Staff are always around, unlike other homes, and are very helpful to visitors also. Very homely and comfortable. I am able to take my mum's dog and my own to visit.

My sibling has been unwell for many years and can find aspects of life challenging, they do not adapt easily to new situations or environments. Their previous care home, were they had been very happy and well cared for, had to close in July 2023. When I first went to Woodside View, I decided to make
an unannounced visit, to see what the home was like, without anytime to prepare. I was immediately struck be the cleanliness of the environment and the residents and the warmth of the welcome I received.I paid particular attention to the interaction of the staff with the residents, they were kind, gentle and patient. The facilities are first rate and there's a varied activities plan that people can join in with if they wish. My sibling visited with me a couple of days later, they immediately like the 'feeling' of the home. When they moved in there was very little, if any, upset and they said that they thought it was 'lovely' better than any other they had stayed in. Great start!

My mother entered the home in August 2021 and passed away in July 2022. The initial welcome was really good with a couple of residents joining the staff in telling Mum the routines. The nursing home is lovely, it is clean, bright and comfortable. The management and staff are very caring, we were grateful
that they stayed with Mum at the end. The food is good and activities ensure residents keep fit.

My mother was a resident here for the last five years of her life. She had complex medical needs and was unable to see, but I can't speak highly enough of the care given here, especially in the last few weeks of her life. She was able to celebrate her 100th birthday last year and the staff really rose
to the occasion. They kept me fully informed during Mum's final days. I was always made very welcome when visiting as were other family members and friends. Definitely recommended!

The staff were very pleasant. When we arrived we had to have a lateral flow test which was clear. We were then shown in to see my sister where 3 chairs were put out for us. We were offered tea and cakes whilst we sat. The staff came in to check on my sister whilst we were there. My sister was clean
and tidy with reminders of the family on the walls. She was happy and contented.

The staff at Woodside View are a credit to their boss, but most of all, a credit to the families. Nothing is too much trouble. They are always happy, cheerful, conscientious and above all caring. We are so pleased Mum is here. If only all homes had staff like Woodside View. And the food is amazing!
They go above and beyond in all aspects of care. Thank you!

I am here because I have a pensioned disability called vertigo which affects the balance and before it was properly diagnosed, caused sufferers to be suspected of being secret drinkers! I have to use a walking frame to help me get about. The staff here are very caring and helpful. If, for example, I
had to be temporarily somewhere else, I would have no hesitation in coming back here again.

The staff were accommodating and friendly. They worked well in order to allow us to see said resident while maintaining Covid precautions. They look after their residents who seem very glad and happy with their stay.

Thank you for your review. I noticed there are no ratings for activities because it's your first time visiting our home, but rest assured each resident has their own personalised activities as to their likes and choices. Also due to COVID outside activities were previously under cautious monitoring in compliance with government guidelines. We all look forward to the new guidelines where our residents can enjoy more outdoor activities.

We have been very impressed by the level of service, care, and kindness displayed by all the staff at Woodside View. Communication has always been swift and thorough. Our father always appears well-groomed and comfortable. Although due to covid we have rightly not been able to enter the home, staff
have always been ready to connect us with Dad through Skype at short notice. There is a warm family atmosphere and we feel that Dad is well looked after.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.367)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.367) out of 10 for Woodside View Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.467 for Woodside View Home is calculated as follows: ( (54 Excellents x 5) + (46 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 105 Ratings = 4.467

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.9 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Woodside View Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 26 registered maximum number of service users is 5.2, which has been reached with 9 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
