Wray Common Nursing Home with its English garden setting and wealth of charm and character is situated in a quiet residential area of Reigate, Surrey.

Nursing Care, Comfort and Friendship in a 'Home from Home' atmosphere are an essential part of the very high Nursing standards provided. Registered Nurses and care assistants are selected not only for their experience and Nursing skills but also for the warmth of personality they bring to the home. The welfare of patients is catered for twenty four hours a day, by professional and trained staff, under the supervision of the highly qualified Matron in charge.

All Rooms, are centrally heated, tastefully decorated and furnished to enhance the light airy atmosphere of the home. A day longe provides a regular meeting place with colour television for residents viewing pleasure. If desired they may also have a television set for private viewing in their own room.

Recognising that some residents prefer privacy and some companionship, there are both single and twin bedded rooms on either the ground or first floor, with an accompanied lift available. Some residents like to have familiar objects with them and are very welcome to bring personal possessions, such as a favourite table or chair and ornaments for their own room.

Meals are taken in pleasant dining rooms, or if desired in the resident's own room. Chefs take pride in the variety and quality of their cuisine. Tempting meals are provided and special dietary needs and personal preferences are also catered for whilst maintaining a well balanced and nutritious menu.

Care workers nderstand the very individual needs of all residents and offer a variety of professional services including Chiropodists, Optician and Hairdresser on a regular basis. A General Practitioner visits regularly and as required. All religions can be catered for with visits from various Ministers.

The care and compassion offered both to my friend (who was the resident) and myself was superb!
I cannot comment on activities, because my friend was too unwell to participate.

My mum stayed at Wray Common for 10 weeks after a hip operation. They were excellent and nothing was too much trouble. They accommodated her at very short notice which made our lives easy especially as they were so helpful and relaxed. Would highly recommend it.
My mum was very happy here. Whilst
she is now well enough to go home we would definitely use Wray Common again in the future if we need to.

Truly caring staff with all the physical and emotional skills to care for patients and residents. Varied and severe physical and mental disabilities. Also very considerate in dealing with distraught relatives of patients under palliative care.

My mother-in-law was admitted on 21st March 2023 as she had Alzheimer's and was unable to stay at home with live-in care. She settled in quite quickly. The staff are brilliant; very caring and look after her every need. My mother-in-law's main comment was that she loved the food. She has a very pleasant
room with French doors. We took some of her pictures and they were already in place the following day. Everyone is very supportive. It couldn't be better.

The home is clean and fresh-smelling. Security is very good. All staff are welcoming and friendly. My mother's room is spacious, airy and has an en-suite bathroom. The home is well-staffed and, although not purpose-built, seems to work well. My mother seems happy here and gets on well with staff members.

My husband (aged 67) received palliative care at Wary Common Nursing and Residential Home for the final 7 weeks of his life. The staff treated him with respect and compassion. Initially, he was able to enjoy time in the lounge with other residents but as his condition deteriorated he stayed in his room
and we were encouraged to visit as often as we liked. We as a family felt involved with decisions made about his care in his final weeks and days. The home has a friendly atmosphere, good facilities and excellent catering.

My husband entered Wray Common in June 2022 after a few weeks in hospital following a fall and surgery for a fractured hip. His condition had deteriorated so far that he could no longer be cared for at home. He was suffering from Alzheimer's. Wray Common was most welcoming and proved to be the perfect
place. Lost weight was soon regained. All the staff were welcoming, caring and friendly and treated my husband with great love and respect.

As a family, we are very thankful and would highly recommend Wray Common for their care, attention and dignity they have shown towards our father and also to the other residents. Our father had to be moved from another care home due to it being closed down, so as a family we were worried about how he
would cope with this move, also his health had deteriorated at the same time. With great relief from the first meeting, to the arrangments to move him, to helping him settle down into Wary Common, all went effortlessly. Everybody has been so welcoming, kind and all interact with him and ourselves. We would like to say how happy we are with this move and we would like to thank everybody involved with Wary Common.

All staff have been wonderful at Wray Common Nursing and Residential Home. My grandmother has been looked after so well and all that work there have always stopped by to chat. Best place for her than where she used to be. When problems arise the staff have been very quick to help and sort things out
and are looking to get my grandmother out and visit other people in the place.

The care that my mother received, even though she'd lost her mobility, was good. She was always clean and tidy and I felt she was attended by happy, caring, chatty and understanding staff. Whenever I rang, which was almost daily, the nurses were so helpful in taking the phone to Mother, making sure
she could hear and who it was, they always said "no problem" or "you're welcome".

When our 94-year-old mother became too ill to remain in her own home, within a week the manager and her care team were able to accommodate her at Wray Common. What a relief, Mum had been terminally ill for a long time and needed the expert care that Wray Common could provide. The manager and team were
open, warm and welcomed Mum, she did find it difficult at first, but their years of experience ensured she was able to settle. They reassured her she was in the right place, putting my and the family's minds at peace. At this time an outbreak of Covid, but it was dealt with so professionally, with pre-arranged visiting time and then a flow test on arrival. All the care staff were very respectful, reassuring and caring towards my mum, who was a real fighter. We were able to visit anytime and were kept informed of her situation each time, the office door was always open. We cannot thank the wonderful team enough, for making a difficult time easier so we could just be with Mum/Nan/GG. Highly recommended.

Having cared for my wife until her condition deteriorated to the extent that she needed 24-hour care, I have arranged for her to come to the Wray Common after extensive research into homes in the area. She was welcomed warmly into a family environment and settled in very quickly. In the following months,
she was given the best possible care from both carers and nurses as her condition (PSP and cancer) deteriorated quickly. I am grateful to all the staff at Wray Common for the care and love that they gave her.

Dad was at the home for a year with terminal cancer. The care and love he received was amazing. He was very happy there and the staff were so kind and caring. We felt welcome every time we visited and became part of the family. Towards the end, we could visit anytime for as long as we needed. They treated
him with the utmost respect throughout his time there.

My mother has been at Wray Common for five years now. I have always found the staff to be cheerful and happy in their work. They have attended to Mum's needs in a caring and efficient manner. Mum's room is always clean. Mum has dementia which can make her behaviour rather unpredictable but this has
not daunted the team. It has a very homely atmosphere. The staff have coped tremendously well with the extra demands that Covid has placed on them.

My uncle is very well cared for and always happy when I visit. I know that he joins in with activities, but is also content to be in his room with his beloved music playing. The staff are always caring and I feel very happy that he is being looked after very well.

My dad loved his four years stay at Wray Common, and was the most relaxed and interactive for a long time. The team had engaged with Dad, and me in an open, honest and supportive discussion about end of life plans, so that when Dad fell ill with bronchial pneumonia, we could all focus on his care, well
being and pain management. All the staff, including nurses, carers and support team displayed nothing but professionalism and support to Dad and our family so that during a difficult period of lockdown during the pandemic, the final days were made bearable for all of us. Dad was made comfortable and had a carer with him at the end, and I was able to visit a few days beforehand despite restrictions. They did a marvellous job - thank you.

My family and I will be forever thankful that we chose Wray Common Nursing Home for our mum. She settled in well and appeared relaxed and contented for the duration she was in their care. All the staff are lovely, everyone was friendly and polite and it was always a joy to visit Mum. Dad has already
requested that he is to be sent to the same home, should the need arise. He misses everyone he met there, we thank you all.
