Ashridge Court Care Centre is a bright, spacious and modern care home set in the beautiful East Sussex countryside, just outside Bexhill-on-Sea. The home, surrounded by gardens and with magnificent sea views, offers the highest possible quality of life for all residents, and exceptional care is delivered with empathy, compassion and a focus on dignity.

There are 51 spacious and comfortably furnished rooms offering superb general nursing care. All rooms are equipped with TV, a nurse call system and an adjustable automatic bed with a control handset for additional comfort.

In addition, the Hazel Wing offers a self-contained 16-bed unit, with specialist care, for people living with dementia.

Nursing and care staff are on hand 24/7, supported by dedicated teams of chefs, activities, administration and housekeeping staff. There is a variety of specialist equipment to help move residents carefully and safely. Everything is centred around meeting the needs of residents and making their life as comfortable as possible.

There is lift access between the floors, and all areas are wheelchair accessible. Free Wi-Fi is also available throughout the home.

A dedicated activities team offers a daily programme of interesting and therapeutic activities.

The café-style bar offers refreshments, such as freshly baked cakes and biscuits, throughout the day.

The communal areas overlooking the gardens provide comfortable spaces to socialise with guests or other residents. The extensive private gardens and well-planned decks offer superb views over the coastline.

The level of care is outstanding and not only in relation to nursing and provision of meals but also in the time, interest and friendliness shown by all the staff. This is what my mother values most of all and really helps her to adjust to the loss of independence and not being able to see her friends
as often as she used to.

My father came into Ashridge Court with a serious lung infection on a two-week respite basis. Unfortunately, his condition deteriorated and he passed away after 8 days. During his stay, he commented on how wonderfully well he was looked after and how attentive and caring all the staff were. He was treated
with great compassion and dignity.

I cannot speak too highly regarding the loving care my husband has received since coming here - in every respect. My mother moved to Ashridge Court for nearly 3 months of palliative care before she passed away there. From the moment I started my impromptu visit of Ashridge Court I appreciated the light, cleanliness and inclusiveness of the centre. The manager took the time to show me around all of the building,
including their safe and sensitively managed dementia wing. I was shown an available room with a beautiful view and with the space I knew mum needed. Over the weeks following mum moving in I got to meet all of the staff who worked in Willow Wing and, without exception, each of them took the time to get to know her and consistently showed high standards of care, attentiveness, patience, and professionalism. There is a strong sense of community and commitment to making the lives of others better throughout the Centre and I believe this is led from the top down. I cannot speak highly enough of the team there and how they support relatives as well as the residents during good times and sad.

The staff are lovely and it is very reassuring to know he is being looked after so well when I am not there.

I admitted her to Ashridge Court on a permanent basis as a fully private-funding patient and we have been very pleased with the level of care and encouraging results.
The majority of all staff show a willingness to understand and make her happy, comfortable and to communicate. Not easy to begin with.
She has always been very independent and never wanting to be cared for.
Now they are all a big family.
The qualified nurses and the events team are particularly good.
I would recommend this care home without hesitation.

Our father, who had dementia, needed a home that could provide both nursing and end of life care. We chose Ashridge Court because we liked the feel of its rooms and we loved the location, but mostly because the manager convinced us that she had the staff and the resources to give Dad the best possible
support. She has lived up to this promise. His brief stay was a roller-coaster ride, his condition frequently changing, but my brother and I were kept constantly updated and consulted whenever possible. When we visited we found the staff to be friendly, caring and professional. When Dad’s health deteriorated, we were advised that the end was near and were able to plan a final visit. As we were away during Dad’s final days, they made daily contact with us and spent as much time with him as possible. The manager also obtained a death certificate. We are both very grateful to all the staff for the care and compassion that they have shown to our family.

I feel that my mother is well cared for in this home. For the amount she pays, however, I think the room she is in could be better decorated and the furniture could match. Curtains could also be made to match and be of a better quality. Chair covers could be cleaner and carpet less tired looking. I
have the impression that the furniture is just odd pieces left by previous residents. The TV is hard to operate as well.

My wife, who is suffering from severe dementia, moved into Ashridge Court on 22nd September 2017. When she arrived at the nursing home, she was bewildered and somewhat distressed by the change in her environment. I was very impressed with the manner in which the staff of Ashridge Court quickly put my
wife at ease. This excellent professional expert care has continued. The staff are very friendly and appear to work well as a team.

My aunt resided at the Ashridge Court for three years after she became unsafe in her own home. Although initially reluctant to leave her own home, she soon adapted to her new environment and soon made friends with her new neighbours and the welcoming staff at the Ashridge.


The Ashridge Court team

provided me with the support and confidence that my aunt was getting the quality of service that I could not provide to her in my own home. I cannot speak highly enough of the professionalism and compassion shown towards my aunt. She had a feisty personality, who would today be considered "Politically Incorrect", however her independence of thought was met with understanding and humour. Should anyone reading this Review be considering the Ashridge Court for their "near and dear", I would fully recommend and endorse the Ashridge Court.

I visited my friend for over three years. Her room overlooking the garden and views over Pevensey marshes to the sea. Sadly I didn't see her out of her room (her choice I believe) and I did visit regularly. Everyone of the staff were caring and kind. To watch her body wasting away was so cruel I personally
believe that the government should bring out a law allowing us to die with dignity not easy I know, but it could and should be done.

My friend is extremely well looked after at Ashridge Court.
She is totally dependent on the staff and I have every confidence. I visit regularly and I am well looked after, when I visit I spend all day at the home and know how well it is run.
I cannot recommend it highly enough.
The food is fantastic,
the rooms are lovely and bright.
There is a wonderful atmosphere with activities continually going on.

Juliet Wills joined Ashridge in August 2021. She is a trained nurse who also has a humanities degree and a clinical teaching qualification. Julie has worked as a registered manager within care and nursing homes as well as an inspector for her local council and CQC where she managed a team of inspectors.
