Seaview Nursing Home, situated in St Leonards-on-Sea, offers a variety of services, including elderly, dementia, respite care and convalescence stays. It is conveniently positioned within easy reach of Bexhill and Eastbourne. Its proximity to the sea front evokes an atmosphere which is both peaceful and relaxed.

This spacious home features six comfortable lounges, which are available for use by residents at any time of the day. It provides an ideal environment for residents to relax and socialise with others in the care home.

It offers single bedrooms, of which the vast majority have en suite facilities and/or wet rooms. Residents are strongly encouraged to personalise their rooms with their own furnishings in order to make them feel at home.

The team of dedicated staff aim to maintain each resident's dignity and provide a high quality of life, in a calm and personalised environment. Staff strive to understand each resident’s individual needs and build their own personal relationship with them. With comprehensive care assessments, regular monitoring and reviews, staff strive to provide the highest standard of care delivery.

The dedicated activity co-ordinators run regular varied programmes to suit all tastes. Whether its visiting local sites or simply a walk, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Staff make every effort to help residents continue with their own hobbies and interests or to take up something new.

The home hosts weekly Yoga 'keep-fit' sessions and musical entertainment is provided by professional artists throughout the year. Reminiscence therapy is supported by Wi-Fi technology. Residents can, and are encouraged to, contact their relatives through either Skype or WhatsApp and they can also learn computer skills, including how to use the internet and e-mail. It also has a cinema with regular screenings to suit the residents. Additionally, the home has an on-site hairdressing salon.

After a slow start to get the support right, the team on mum's floor were attentive and caring. Mum was only there 6 days but her final days were peaceful and pain free.

We have been visiting since May 2018. Our first problem is always parking, why do the manager and doctor park at the front door? There is insufficient parking. When you visit St Dominic's a warm welcome is always extended as you enter the building. The public areas together with the resident's rooms
always appear neat, tidy and clean. The staff always communicate to you and allay any concerns you may have regarding your resident, you become involved, its what you need when you visit. The activity involvement with the residents is certainly beneficial to our resident, she seems calmer and for us it pays dividends. The food she tells us is great, she loves it, another plus in our book. The staff communicate to the residents, they have learnt their previous living history, the staff talk to them about it, it's great to see such enjoyment the resident gets from it. Finally, we are glad our mum lives there.

I was a resident of St Dominic’s on two separate occasions January - May 2016 and August -November 2019. On both occasions, I was looked after very well by friendly professional and caring staff whether carers, co-ordinators or nurses. Many of these became real and genuine friendships that have continued
since moving on from St Dominic’s. I have always been particularly impressed by the kindness, patience and care shown by staff to persons suffering extreme forms of dementia. There are always stimulating activities and entertainment provided as well as generous and good quality food on offer.

I was admitted to St Dominic's about a year ago, after being in hospital for more than 6 months. I was in a poor state when I first went in, both physically and emotionally. The staff there were friendly and helped me to gain my independence back after losing my flat, personal properties and access
to my finance. I am very grateful for the staff's help and they are always very respectful of the residents. The food is good and the atmosphere in the lounge is very good, and the managers are always there and willing to listen.

My wife was admitted to St Dominic's 21/11/19 and passed away 01/01/20 after being in three more facilities since 24/08/19. She suffered from vascular dementia for approx four years. She settled within two weeks, she had excellent care with the care staff, very caring and attentive. She was happy with
the food and staff kept plenty of drinks etc. I was very pleased and surprised how well in the manner she accepted her stay because she had high standards. Staff called the doctor on several occasions. She was 86 (87 almost) her health had visibly faded when she died in spite of good care.

Every time I visit my sister she has always looked very clean, tidy and suitably dressed. She really enjoys her food and the staff are excellent, helpful, cheerful and welcoming and my sister loves them and they her. We highly recommend this home to everyone and anyone.
Excellent cannot fault it.

My mother has vascular dementia and requires all care now. We transferred her to St Dominic's in November and have been delighted with the care she has received.
It has been a difficult time putting mum into care for the family but the staff take the time to speak to us when we visit and keep us updated
with any changes. All the residents are treated with extreme dignity.

The staff and management were all very caring and looked after my dad very well. They treated him with dignity and compassion. He was always clean and groomed and very well cared for, they never left him lying in bed unless he wasn't well. They always took him to the lounge where he had company and
a staff member there. If he had the slightest bruise or any problems they always rang me. I would recommend St Dominic's highly.

My Dad was admitted to St Dominic's having been treated in hospital for a range of age-related issues. He had been hallucinating in the hospital and was quite confused. He has now been at St Dominic's for 5 months. His progress and rehabilitation has been exceptional, he arrived on a stretcher but
is now walking short distances without any aids, is orientated and a recent social service assessment has concluded he has the capacity to make his own decisions so, at 82 he is now on the waiting list for sheltered accommodation. I doubt very much that he would be in this position now without the lovely staff at St Dominic's who have treated Dad with great care, compassion and most importantly for Dad, great good humour. Dad and I are very grateful, thank you all.

I walked into the nursing home without an appointment to see if there was a vacancy for respite care. I was greeted very well by the receptionist and was introduced to the team, showed around. Very good first impression and this was again the case when my parent was admitted for a week respite. Excellent

The management, nurses and care staff have been very kind and caring. The problem the family have had is communicating with Mum as nearly of us are not living locally.
It could have been nice to have had wifi or even a telephone in her room as she was often unable to recharge her mobile phone.
This
is why we have given the room a satisfactory rating.
Apart from that, the wonderful staff have enabled an excellent recovery and Mum is now happily back at home.

My father has had live-in care for the last 3+ years. The carers are very well trained and professional and they are all so kind and deliver excellent levels of care. They work hard to ensure that my dad is safe and very well cared for.


The area manager pops in frequently to check on the carers and

always ensures that they are meeting my father's needs and receive training and he always checks we are happy with the service.


We have also recently had input from their nurse lead who helped us with a successful Continuing Healthcare assessment - ensuring the care plan and documentation reflected everything the carers do to help.


Having had experience of several care agencies and nursing homes I rate St.Dominic as one of the best home care and a great option for those looking for excellent service for their loved ones.

My first thought when I went to view was how clean - tastefully decorated it is. The staff and management were friendly and helpful and have been since.
The room is clean and comfortable and airy. Overall I am happy to leave my husband in their care.

Although there is a turnover of staff; all of them have been truly wonderful, caring, respectful to Mum and to us as a family. The place is always clean. Mum is always clean.

The care at St Dominic’s has been on the whole very good in the 4.5 years of visiting, however, continuous through all that time has been a lack of cutlery, in particular spoons! Now clothes protectors, serviettes and straws are thin on the ground! Carers frequently have to find spoons (to wash) during
mealtime which puts them behind and puts pressure on stretched staff. Some small tables which fit over a bed/chair are worn out and some are in danger of falling over, not adjustable or tilting so the plate/drink can slide off. In the last few months, blankets/cushions in the lounge have become hard to find. Some of the more comfortable recliner chairs in the lounge are worn out and need to be coaxed/supported into position. Not sure there’s much entertainment going on now, maybe I’ve missed the notice? The carers do a great job but it seems the home is spending money on over the top “prettying” the home than spending money where it is needed for the carers to do the job properly and safely.

My Mother's care home was closed down and we moved her here. So far we are most impressed with the home. The staff are friendly and efficient and seem to have my Mothers welfare at heart above all else. The whole atmosphere is light, clean and friendly. She has only been here for two months but from
our experience so far I wish we had moved her a long time ago.

My wife has been at St Dominic's for six weeks now and seems to be settling in. The care that she is getting is excellent and she is treated with dignity and respect even though she can be a bit noisy at times. All of the carers are very good at what they do for her.
I am always welcomed every time
I visit, and cups of tea are always provided. The nursing element of care is excellent and my wife has a very comprehensive care plan in place.
The management always keeps me up to date no matter how trivial something may be and they listen to any issues that may arise and deal with it promptly.
I would not hesitate to recommend this lovely care home to anybody who is looking for a caring care home.
