Elstree Court Care Home, located in Meads Village, just outside Eastbourne, provides personalised nursing and residential care in a well equipped and welcoming setting.

Each and every member of the professional care team is there to assist you or your loved one in settling into life at Elstree Court. With a wealth of knowledge and experience in the care sector, the home manager leads the team to ensure residents are supported to lead their best lives.

The catering team at Elstree Court create delicious meals to ensure a lovely dining experience, and the dining areas provide a welcoming space to enjoy meals with fellow residents, or family and friends. During the warmer months, the outdoor spaces are also firm favourites with residents and their loved ones to enjoy a spot of al fresco dining.

The experienced and compassionate care team at Elstree Court like to learn about each resident’s hobbies and interests to design a comprehensive activity programme, supporting residents to continue well-loved hobbies or try their hand at something new.

As well as building a great community inside the home, residents are supported to take an active role in the Meads Village community if they wish to, connecting with local community groups and schools or visiting local establishments on regular trips out.

My 95 year old mother came into Elstree Court at very short notice after two weeks in hospital, with breathing problems and generally being frail, she needed palliative care end of life care. The priority being is to make her as comfortable and as pain free as possible. The staff at Elstree Court provided
this care brilliantly caring, friendly and professional. They enabled my mother to peacefully slide into death.

My father has been in Elstree for 3 months. Consistent and loving personal care has transformed him from a paranoid, confused individual to someone happy and secure. The challenge of double incontinence has been managed with dignity and periods of doziness and difficulty with eating dealt with in a
sensitive manner. It is of infinite value to him to be given respect for his language skills. The Christmas party yesterday was a delightful family occasion and he was so glad to be part of it. He was very pleased to be thanked for coming down to join in. Thank you all so much.

Husband can be difficult but all the staff treat him with great patience and are very thorough in all they do for him. Family are well informed on his treatment and are 100% behind the staff.

Yolanda

Yolanda De Castro

Job Title: Home Manager

“For me, it’s showing compassion to every Resident, taking the
time to listen and going the extra mile to support their needs.”


As a Registered Nurse, Yolanda has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people, to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for Residents.


Yolanda closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


She also works hard to arrange events and activities with nearby schools and clubs and is always keen to include the local community in life at Elstree Court.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Yolanda remarked:


“I just love to see all of the Residents and staff happy to be in the home.”


Outside of work, Yolanda enjoys cycling, cooking and watching her all-time favourite films.
