Hailsham House Care Home offers a wide range of residential, nursing and dementia care. This happy, family home has a variety of 90 ensuite rooms and care suites. It is located in a tranquil, rural setting in East Sussex. Sitting in its own extensive grounds, residents and their guests benefit from beautiful views plus substantial gardens and countryside spaces to enjoy and relax in.

With a number of lounges and smaller sitting rooms, there are spaces for everyone. Residents always have a choice of being with their friends and being part of the 'buzz' having other people around, or finding their own space and peace, perhaps with their families and visitors, or just to relax and enjoy their own moment.

The friendly and dedicated team caters for residents' needs and choices 24 hours a day. Be they carers, nurses, chefs, housekeepers and laundry operatives, gardeners, activity and wellbeing coordinators and more besides, everyone at Hailsham House has a shared objective - to ensure that every resident benefits from excellent and diligent care, respect and quality of life, every day.

The care and nursing team provide person centred care, with every resident having their own unique care plan, regularly updated to ensure its relevance and accuracy. The kitchen team offer a range of meals and snacks around the clock, nutritious home cooking and baking, with choices for all diets and cultures. The activity and wellbeing team offer a range of stimulating and entertaining pastimes - including music, quizzes, bingo and group activities, arts and crafts, pet therapy, local trips and excursions in the home's own minibus, and more individual companionship and activity - and so much more.

I am writing this as the wife of a dementia patient who was in respite care for 4 weeks while I went abroad. I could see the daily care plans which were comprehensive and my family and friends visited on my behalf were always greeted and made welcome and found my husband well cared for.

We are proud to introduce Rui, our esteemed General Manager at Hailsham House, a pivotal part of the Aurem Care family. Joining our team in December 2013 as a compassionate and skilled nurse, Rui's unwavering dedication and exceptional talent quickly shone through.


His journey with us has been remarkable, culminating in his promotion to General Manager in January 2024.


Rui's expertise is not just in nursing, having qualified in 2012, but also encompasses a comprehensive understanding of care standards and legislation. This knowledge is vital in our commitment to providing the highest level of care for vulnerable adults with diverse and complex healthcare needs. His experience ensures that every resident receives personalised and compassionate care, tailored to their unique requirements.


In his role as General Manager, Rui not only leads the team at Hailsham House with inspirational guidance but also oversees the assessment process for potential new residents. He takes great joy in welcoming new members to our home, ensuring they feel part of our community from the outset.


Rui's approachable and understanding nature makes him a favourite among residents and staff alike. He embodies the values of Aurem Care, always putting the well-being and happiness of our residents first. Meet Marlene, our dedicated Administration Manager at Hailsham House, an integral part of the Aurem Care community. Marlene's journey with us began in 2011, and her path has been one of continuous growth and deepening commitment to our residents and team.


Starting as a Health Care Assistant, Marlene's passion for resident care was evident from day one. Her skills and devotion saw her progress to a Senior HCA, where she not only provided exceptional care but also led her team with a blend of professionalism and empathy.


Marlene's vibrant personality naturally transitioned her into the role of Activity and Wellbeing Coordinator. For two years, she was the heart of our activities, enriching the lives of our residents with a range of engaging and meaningful experiences that enhanced their well-being.


Her journey didn't stop there. Marlene's versatile abilities led her 'across the hall' to support our reception and administration team. Her efficiency, combined with a profound understanding of our home's dynamics, eventually led to her well-deserved promotion to Administrator.


In her current role, Marlene is the backbone of Hailsham House, seamlessly managing all aspects of administration and financial operations. She offers invaluable support not just to our team but also to the residents and their families, ensuring a smooth and comforting experience for everyone.


Marlene's long-standing presence and diverse experience at Hailsham House make her the perfect 'go-to' person for almost any need. Her familiarity with every facet of our home and her approachable nature make her an invaluable asset to our community.

Amy joined the Hailsham House team in July 2023, bringing her vibrant passion for people-facing roles to our front desk. Her background is rich in advisory positions across various sectors, reflecting her natural flair for interacting with the public. This skill set makes her an invaluable first point of contact for residents, their families, and visitors at Hailsham House.


Currently, Amy is furthering her expertise by studying financial advice outside of work with an investment company. This pursuit of continuous personal and professional development is a testament to her dedication and drive.


Amy finds a deep sense of fulfilment in her role at Hailsham House. She cherishes the family-like atmosphere of our home and her enthusiasm for supporting people in any way she can shines through in her daily interactions.
