Freshford Cottage Nursing Home is situated in the quiet part of the seaside town of Seaford, East Sussex. Local shops and restaurants are within walking distance, close to the seafront.

They offer 24-hour care for all residents. All staff have regular in-house training, NVQ training and attend courses relevant to care of the elderly.

The home has its own catering staff and use local produce. There are weekly deliveries of fresh food by the local butcher/greengrocer.

They believe everyone is entitled to privacy, dignity and respect and staff are made aware that the needs of the residents are paramount.

Visitors are welcome at any time.

Fees are based on the bedroom of your choice.

My mother arrived at the home at the beginning of September and is happily settled partly because of the excellent care given to her by the staff and the accommodation itself.

There is a warmth and friendliness as soon as you walk into Freshford Cottage.
Everyone greets you with a smile and does their best to make you welcome. Daily notes on residents care are there to be seen by a visitor to the room and my query is always dealt with quickly.

All the way from the top staff to the staff who keep the home so lovely and clean. They are so caring, it's a pleasure to visit, so dedicated, they are all like angels at a very difficult time. Thank you.

A family friend recommended Freshford Cottage to us when we urgently needed palliative care for our mother. After our initial visit, we were immediately drawn to the homely atmosphere and to the friendly and efficient staff. We are being kept fully informed of our mother's condition but more importantly,
she is very happy there.

I am very pleased with the overall care provided by Freshford Cottage for my wife. My wife recently completed her first year at Freshford Cottage on the 10th December.

My mother has been a resident since March 2017 after having to leave a rest home as her condition had worsened as she is unable to do anything for herself now. The staff overall are very friendly, compassionate and caring and her needs are completely attended to. A file of her day to day needs and food
intake is readily available in her room for anyone to see. The location of the home is very central which allows relatives and friends easy access by rail or bus and there is ample parking. Overall I would award this home 5* for the care that is given to residents and the empathy the staff have for the relatives.

Pamela Fuller

Job Title: Senior Healthcare Assistant

Joined: 2015

Pamela has been at Freshford for 9 years and has 30 years of experience in care.


She enjoys getting to know all the resident's likes and encourages these to be met and to make these known to all staff.


Pamela has an NVQ 3 and is the champion of infection control and hydration. Being a champion requires extra training and comes with more responsibilities.


Her extra responsibilities include monthly audits, ensuring staff use the right-hand washing technique and encouraging fluid intake of residents.


Pamela is a very much loved member of the team here at Freshford.
