Located in a pleasant residential area of Eastbourne, Inglewood Nursing Home offers short- and long-term nursing and palliative care in charming, period-style accommodation with thoroughly modern facilities.

Within the home there is accommodation for up to 60 residents in bright, comfortable rooms set over two floors. Each room is equipped with a TV, nurse call system and an adjustable automatic bed. All rooms have large windows and attractive views over the picturesque garden, while some on the ground floor open out onto the secure courtyard.

Staff encourage all residents to personalise their room with favourite pictures, photographs, ornaments and small items of furniture, as this helps them to feel at home much more quickly.

There is lift access to the first floor and all areas are wheelchair accessible. Free Wi-fi is available throughout the home, which also has its own hair salon.

Nursing and care staff are on hand 24 hours a day, supported by dedicated chefs as well as activities, administration and housekeeping teams.

Staff really care about each one of the residents and aim to make them feel completely comfortable and at home, whatever the level of care required. Their relationship is central to how happy residents are at Inglewood, and staff work hard to build trusting relationships with both the resident and their family.


Visitors are welcome at any time and on-site parking is available.

My husband was transferred from Pentlow, another home of Canford group. Unfortunately, covid-19 had already caused lockdown, so my visits were limited, having only three half-hour visits from mid-June until his health deteriorated in July. Sadly, he passed away. I had every confidence in the care that
he received whilst he was there and could not fault the care and support that both of us were shown in his last week.

My father spent the last 6-months of his life in Inglewood. I visited regularly, and I was always impressed with the care, attention and dignity that he was given by all staff. Due to his diagnosis of senile dementia, he could present with challenging behaviour. This was managed professionally and sensitively
in their dealings with him and interactions with his family. I cannot fault the establishment and will always be grateful for everything they did.

My mother was admitted to the Inglewood care home in January 2020. The level of care given to my mother who had very specific needs was exemplary in every way. Not only all the basic needs covered to an exceptional standard, but great care and dignity were given, especially during the lockdown period
to support both my mum/our family in challenging circumstances. We are immensely grateful for the genuine care and attention given throughout the stay, and cannot speak more highly of the professionalism and service given.

My mother went to Inglewood Nursing Home following a period in hospital. On her release we were told that she had only weeks to live. Thanks to a high standard of nursing care and the many dedicated members of staff she remained with us for a further 2 1/2 years. She considered many of the staff her
friends and enjoyed having a laugh and a joke with therm. Whenever we visited the home we were always welcomed by friendly staff and witnessed being cared for in a way which allowed them to maintain their humanity.

My mother became a resident of Inglewood nursing home in July 2018 but sadly passed away on the 12th February 2020, after a short illness and three days in the hospital.
My mother was happy in Inglewood and well looked after considering her chronic physical illness. Inglewood kept me informed on a
regular basis as to Mum's health and did not hesitate to summon emergency assistance when she became ill.

My mother was here for just over three years and was very happy. She did not want to be anywhere else. The staff treated us as family and treated Mum as their family. The rooms are cosy, warm and comfy, cleaned every day and the food is excellent and choices are extensive. Nothing was too much trouble.
The entertainment team is the best I have ever experienced together with regular trips out for residents. Mum was well cared for and in my experience of care homes could not have been in a better place. I did not worry about her as I knew she was in caring hands in a safe home. When I went to visit I was always treated with respect. Well done Inglewood and thank you. I will miss my regular visits to Inglewood and would like to thank you all for your dignified, compassionate care and warm smiling welcomes. The manager and team are always on hand with regular updates and in my opinion, the home is well-led. Thank you. I would not hesitate to recommend Inglewood.

My brother suffered a broken shoulder after a fall. He was in great pain with his injury, and the fall jarred his body. He was unable to even dress, wash, etc himself. The care he received was excellent.

My mother spent a relatively short time in Inglewood as she was very ill when she arrived. Even though she slept for most of her stay, it was comforting to see that she was relaxed and peaceful.
I like to think that she had an awareness that she was in, competent, caring hands. The staff were friendly
and helpful from the time I walked into reception right through to their care for Mum. They were diligent in their day-to-day care and spent much time talking to me and keeping me updated on her deteriorating condition.

Dignified, caring, compassionate and respectful care provided for my mum's end of life. Sucha welcome, peaceful, caring space after the chaos of a general hospital, and staff who cared for both Mum and all the family with love and compassion throughout Mum's time at Inglewood. Inglewood was one of two homes that we as a family felt we would be happy for my mum to move into, and we were fortunate that there was a vacancy when she needed it. The home is welcoming, clean and well maintained with cheerful rooms surrounded by lovely gardens. Really though, it's the people who
make Inglewood the home from home that it is. Without exception, the staff have been kind and attentive to us as well as to mama. It's such a relief to know that she is being so well looked after. Thank you.

My husband has just died at Inglewood after six weeks in their care. He was treated with the utmost care and dignity always, as indeed we all were. Both my husband, myself, my daughter and indeed all our visitors were happy to see such caring happy people!
At his moment of death and afterwards, I felt

Friendly, caring and professional. The food is great if you don't like what is on the menu that day they will make you whatever you like.
My father's care was wonderful and all the staff from cleaners, carers and nurses were great. My father died in there and post-death until the funeral directors

First impressions - amazing! Having had my mother-in-law in two previous, local homes where care and attention was awful, to find Inglewood is a gift! We use Inglewood as a respite facility for my mother (mid 90's) when I am out of the country. Shis happy to settle there, especially as it is so close the her home. She is able to be accompanied home each day to maintain a link with the cat, which is of course, is pleased to see her! She enjoys the
activities arranged, especially the outings. We are happy to consider Inglewood as our first point of call and appreciate their ready support whenever needed.

My father in law was terminally ill and had been in hospital for a number of weeks before Inglewood accepted him. He was not the easiest of patients, however, the staff and manager always made him and us feel extremely welcome and they remained fantastic with his care. When he passed away their support
to the family was amazing. We did not feel pressured at any point and I would not hesitate should the need arise to use their services again. The care and approach are outstanding and the environment is beautiful with an air of calmness at any time.
