Located in the pleasant market town of Polegate, just on the outskirts of Eastbourne, The Polegate Care Home offers nursing care to older.

Recently undergoing a substantial refurbishment, The Polegate has benefitted from transformed communal areas including dining rooms, lounges/day rooms, a reception area, bathrooms and corridors. The home also boasts a range of onsite facilities for residents to enjoy, including a hair salon, quiet room and a beautiful landscaped garden and patio, which serves as the perfect spot to spend time with friends and family.

Priding themselves on providing person-centred and sensitive care, the team place respect, dignity and independence at the heart of their practice. They are there to support residents to live life the way they choose, empowered to make independent choices regarding their care and the way they spend each day.

Exceptional care and attention to the job in hand.. All staff, from management down are caring and kind.. Would most definitely recommend The Polegate to anyone in need of care.

I have found all the staff to be very pleasant and kind, caring and helpful. Always willing to help and look after their patients. Since my husband has been in the home he has settled well and feels very comfortable. This makes me feel very happy and pleasant. When the situation arises for a family
member to go into a home it is a worry. I feel quite confident they are doing their best for him and all their patients.

My husband has always been very well looked after with care and dignity. The staff and management are all very supportive, helpful and compassionate. I feel very fortunate to have found a care home as good as Polegate where I know my husband is being well looked after.

I was very worried about Mum going into a care home but we had no choice. We chose The Polegate because it was close to us. I really didn't need to worry because Mum said to me that it was the best thing she's done to go there. She loves the staff, she says they are wonderful and so kind. The only thing
she misses is having shepherd's pie, it's her favourite and it's not on the menu. All I can say is a big thank you, my mum is happy.

Lovely welcome when you sign in. Staff all lovely working under such difficult circumstances. We are made to feel very welcome as visitors. The residents generally all seem happy and have good interaction with the staff.

Very good home. Food sometimes a bit spicy. My wife is welcome to lunch with me every day. Staff are lovely.

I chose this care home because of its high reputation and integrity locally. I am not disappointed. I hope to spend the remainder of my life here, such is the quality of care experienced. I enjoy the multi-cultural atmosphere, the quietness and the politeness. None intrusive and humane, what more could

I think the residents need more individual attention. Used dishes left from meals need to be cleared away and not left cluttering the dining room and resident's rooms. Management needs to be more hands-on! The meeting and greeting is very good.

My partner and I visit on a weekly basis and have always found the staff welcoming, friendly and caring. The residents seem to be happy, comfortable and well cared for. Activities are plenty and well attended and enjoyed by residents and visitors.

My mother had to make a hard decision to go into care.
My sister and our husbands took her to see Polegate Care Home. On receiving us they were excellent, my mother is wheelchair-bound, one member of staff in particular and the gentleman who greeted us spoke to my mother the whole time, not talking
over her, he sold it to her.

My dad spent eight weeks at the home before he died. Overall, my family were very satisfied with the care Dad received. The home has a strong management team and had its own permanent staff whilst, inevitably, there were a small number of staff who were less engaged, the majority were appropriately
caring and some were truly exceptional. The support staff were kind and considerate and the food was very good (variety and quality). The activity team were enthusiastic and thoughtful. The one area I would encourage the home to improve is their internal communication because on too many occasions this did not work effectively. In summary, I would have no hesitation in encouraging another family member to live there.

My father has received exceptional care from the day he became a resident. Nothing has been too much trouble for the staff. All the family members have been made to feel welcome at any time. Every member of staff always has a smile on their face no matter how busy they are. The food is amazing, and

My mother moved into the home on 8/12/23 after making a very difficult decision to move into full-time care. The decision was highly emotive and difficult as we only wanted the best for our mum. My mum felt at home in just a few hours. The staff are so attentive, compassionate and so very kind. Nothing
is too much trouble. Our questions were answered. The food is of high quality and choices are offered. I can not express my thanks enough to every member of staff for giving my mother the attention and support and as a family knowing she is safe and loved by her new home.

In my experience, the staff are friendly and respectful and do their best to keep the residents occupied. My food is minced so I cannot comment accurately on the menu. The staff are good at getting to understand my personality and recognise when I want time to myself.

During my stay at The Polegate Care Home I received nothing by kindness from all the staff. I feel now that I have made many friends and will remember them all fondly. Call bells were answered promptly and treatment was given very professionally.

I didn't want to go into a care home but I am glad I did. I was given a warm welcome by the manager and met many of the staff. I felt a good atmosphere. The staff were all wonderful to me and I felt very much at home. The staff came to see me every morning which I found professional. I only wish my
room had a shower and that it didn't look like a hospital room but with everything my stay was good.

I had a lovely time celebrating Christmas with my wife at the home, I was also able to go to the pantomime where a wonderful buffet tea was put on for everyone afterwards and the staff all got involved in the spirit of the afternoon.
Christmas dinner was splendid, with so much variety and tasty food,
I even stayed for tea as well.
All of the residents were given a special present chosen just for them which was so thoughtful and the home has such a warm and friendly atmosphere with caring staff, even the agency ones are so good with everyone.

My Father stayed here from June to August as a respite resident due to my mother having had a hip replacement. I always found the staff very pleasant and extremely helpful, they would always answer any questions I may have had and if someone didn't know the answer, they would always go and find out.
In my dad's final week of being there, he suddenly became very unwell and unfortunately passed away in hospital but the care again that the staff took and the urgency in getting an ambulance was first-class service and in letting us know what had happened and even when I went to pick dad's bit's up from the home, again the staff were first class. Would 100% recommend this care home to everybody, as a family we were extremely impressed.
