They do a really good job, always make me feel welcome when I visit and my father-in-law is always happy and cheerful when is see him, I always get offered a coffee or sandwich if I want. Would always recommend them.

A really good care home. It's always clean to the highest standard and the staff are a real credit to the system. Food is fantastic and the gardens are always tidy and safe for the residents. My husband enjoys the safety and care of the home. First-class.

It's a fantastic care home in all aspects. They really look after my dad. Staff are very friendly and do what they can for the residents. Upon my visits to the home over the last 18 months the staff are like clock-work working all the time.

My mother-in-law got Covid-19 and with the help of the staff and management helped her overcome the virus and return to good health. Since she has been living at Sovereign Lodge (December 2018) the staff and management have done their utmost to provide her with a safe and well cared for environment,
she didn't want to go into a care home but due to underlying health issues there were no other options, she tells us that she is very happy in Sovereign Lodge and considers it to now be her home.
Both my husband and myself consider the Sovereign Lodge Manager to be a friend now rather than a service provider, I cannot recommend Sovereign Lodge highly enough.

My relative came from another care home where she was disruptive and unhappy to a place where her dementia was understood and managed. The team at Sovereign Lodge are welcoming and friendly as well as having good clinical skills and compassion.
The necessary changes in medications make a dramatic improvement
in her behaviour and mood which led to more smiles and laughter. I always felt involved in decision making and the only time there was an issue it was dealt with in a timely effective manner.

Well. What A Team! From day one of preliminary talks with the Manager of Sovereign Lodge, I could tell she would do everything possible to meet the needs of a very dear friend.
I am LPA to a very dear lady of 72 years of age who sadly had both legs amputated at the start of 2020. This unexpected situation
along with the angst and turmoil was incredibly hard to deal with. Such a negative, overnight life-changing outcome seemed impossible to make into a positive.
The Manager showed empathy and compassion and helped me through a very tricky time. Being responsible for choosing where someone should live, who is not your blood relative, comes with many barriers. Help from Sovereign Lodge gave me the confidence and belief that everything would be okay and my friend's future would be as bright and colourful as she is herself.
Every visit to Sovereign Lodge has been informative and welcoming by all the staff.
Thank you all for enabling my friend to have the best future possible.

Sovereign Lodge has helped with a miraculous recovery in my mum's mental state and outlook after a tough few weeks for her. My mum came to Sovereign Lodge after two trips to the hospital within two weeks following two falls. A room was found for her at Sovereign Lodge. At first, she was very unhappy
and discontented. However over time thanks to the attentive care by all the staff at Sovereign Lodge, she regained her former good nature and optimistic outlook. She now tells me how wonderful the staff are. She is back to being the person I knew before she had those two falls. I believe that, while she would rather she could physically be back in her flat, she now realises that Sovereign Lodge is the best place for her to be to ensure that she is well looked after. Many thanks to all at Sovereign Lodge.

Trying to find a suitable care home for my father was a stressful and anxious time. I will be forever grateful that I came across Sovereign Lodge. The manager and her friendly team have provided nothing less than a gold star service throughout. No request is too big or small and communication has consistently
been excellent.
The home provides a welcoming, relaxed and friendly environment with a really great choice of activities for its residents.
It's lovely to always be greeted by happy care staff when I visit. Most importantly my father has settled in better than I could have wished for. The home has greatly improved his diet and quality of life-giving me peace of mind that I made the right choice for him. I can't thank Sovereign lodge enough and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

My Nan is extremely happy and content residing at Sovereign Lodge. During the lockdown, my Nan has been kept extremely safe whilst all her needs have been met. All precautions and measures have been put in place to ensure her health and safety and continuing to keep her well-being and mental health
needs a priority. When Nan tested positive for coronavirus we were reassured and communication was still very much open, meaning myself and my family felt at ease knowing Nan was being looked after and her condition and progress were monitored. We were always informed of any changes and still able to communicate with Nan. Sovereign Lodge has been invaluable to our family as we know Nan is so well looked after and loved by all the staff there.

We were recommended Sovereign Lodge over a year ago and visited immediately. It was such a relief to feel the positive and happy atmosphere on day one and to feel confident that this was the right place for my Mother-in-Law who suffers from dementia. The staff seem happy, cheery, cooperative and, knowledgeable.
The residents' rooms are a good size, nicely decorated and have an ensuite loo and handbasin. Bath and shower facilities are nearby. The lounge and dining room are gorgeous - to me, it feels like a hotel. We always enjoy our visits, especially in the summer when we can be outside in the garden. The staff put on many activities and events to involve residents with different interests and abilities. Equally, If we want to pass on any information or ask questions, this is always handled with patience and interest. I would not hesitate to recommend this lovely, caring place which has at its core, the needs of every individual resident and treats them all so kindly.

My father was only with Sovereign Lodge for four weeks, having been hospitalised four weeks earlier with a broken leg. He was discharged from hospital to Sovereign Lodge for further rehabilitation and was made very welcome. The staff phoned me on his arrival and gave me a comprehensive account of how
they would look after him and named his carers so that I could talk to them at any time. They kept us regularly updated on his progress and also arranged for him to speak to my mother and I on alternate days via social media, which we thought was above and beyond their call of duty but it was very much appreciated, as we were not able to visit due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The staff were faultless and looked after his every need and my father spoke very highly of them all. Unfortunately, my father passed away after being at Sovereign Lodge for just four weeks but it is a comfort to both my mother and myself that he was so well looked after. We would not hesitate to recommend Sovereign Lodge.

Brilliant. I have always had enormous admiration and respect not without affection for the staff and management of Sovereign Lodge. I have been even more impressed by how they have coped during this pandemic and lockdown. Despite the difficulties, they will have inevitably encountered, they have taken
the time to allow me to video call my dear friend twice a week and to keep me updated with bulletins about activities and birthdays they have celebrated during lockdown. They are never too busy to ask after my own health and have shown great courage, patience and professionalism. They are a shining example of how to care for our frail and elderly loved ones. I have been visiting Sovereign House for over a year. The building and staff are always neat, clean and tidy. The staff are approachable, friendly and always willing to help. Most importantly, the residents are well looked after and are made comfortable. The meals are well presented and tasty.

My husband has been a resident for a year now. He is well looked after, well-fed, and the staff really seem to care about the residents.
Nothing is too much trouble for management or the care staff.

Our day-to-day can be challenging, but it requires commitment, motivation, and skills to make a vision into reality. I am passionate about delivering person-centred care to our residents and maintaining their independence as much as possible. It is a big adjustment for a resident to leave their own house and be in a nursing home, thus we as a team help them feel welcomed and ensure a homely environment.

I think a person needs to be knowledgeable or must be willing to learn. You must be people orientated, know how to deal with different kinds of people in a friendly but professional manner. Must be well organised and know how to manage time. Stay calm.


The favourite part of my working day is being able to help out with the team. Completing tasks and being ready to accept more. Meeting new people.


The biggest professional challenge in my current role was moving from a corporate company where I had been for 5 years to a smaller but growing company. Luckily enough, after a few weeks of intensive training, I was able to adapt and settle quickly into my new home. Thanks to the most friendly and accommodating staff/residents and relatives of Sovereign Lodge and those at our operations office Apex.


My biggest career highlight to date? I am quite happy to see the progression of my career over the span of six years.


Qualities that make me stand out are;
A good home manager must have good leadership and at the same time be caring and have a passionate heart. Time management is also very important.


My interests outside of work are spending time with my little boy, playing in the sand or swimming together. I also like watching movies and shopping.

Sovereign Lodge has a very good name in the local community and I wished to have a more fulfilling job role
Before joining Healthcare Homes I was a landlady at a local public house. I had always worked in the service industry.
To be good in my role I need to be bubbly, outgoing, motivated and confident. Being able to work as part of a team or take a lead role if necessary. Energetic, enthusiastic and loving the job of making people happy.
The favourite part of my working day is putting a smile on people’s faces and making a difference. Giving residents something to look forward to.
My biggest professional challenge in my current role is being diverse in the role and giving a wide variety in the activity schedule; keeping it fresh and exciting. I am undertaking a Health Care Practitioner trainee role which I am very excited about and looking forward to the outcome.
Although there have been many highlights during my time here, none more important than walking in to the lounge areas and seeing smiling, happy residents

Outside of work I like spending time with my family, dining out, walking and enjoying the fresh air with loved ones, watching movies and shopping
