Mum was at Sovereign Lodge for a short time but the care and compassion she received was fantastic. The staff were really friendly and helpful when we went to the home. It was very clean and Mum's room was really spacious.

When I arrived, I was put in a room where I was not comfortable. My husband spoke to the manager and it was quickly put right which I was very pleased about. Can't complain, I had a nice comfortable stay. Staff are excellent, couldn't ask for more. Thank you all very much.

Although my aunt was only at Sovereign Lodge for just over a month before her death she was always treated with great care, respect and dignity. The staff were very sensitive to our needs too.

My husband has been in Sovereign Lodge for three years and I have been very pleased with the service and care that he has received. The management and staff are always welcome to hear of any problems, however minor and they are resolved almost immediately. They have a team of dedicated carers there
who work extremely hard to make sure the residents are comfortable and happy. I visit my husband every day at any time and am always impressed by the atmosphere and quietness of the home.
I feel truly grateful that my husband is in a home such as Sovereign Lodge.

The care given to my mum was excellent. The regular staff are so caring and personal to both residents and their families. Sometimes, mum had to wait too long for a response to her call, as she was bed-bound. I personally think this was more to do with how the place was managed eg, at mealtimes staff
were busy. Perhaps staff should be split between caring, responding to buzzers and providing meals?

Thank you for your feedback and letting us know the care given to your Mum was excellent. I will pass this onto my staff team.
In reply to your concern about the call bells, I believe for me to give you reassurance is to explain the system. When a bell is rung, it generates a print out in the admin office of the time and room number, when staff reset the call bell this is also printed stating the time. Every 24 hours the paper print is reviewed, I will then investigate each one of these. We also use an allocation system for the staff to ensure that all aspects of care are covered, our staffing ratio meets the dependency scores within the home, however, at times it may feel like we do not have enough staff as it is a very busy home.
I hope my explanation gives you the reassurance that we have safe systems in the home to monitor the health and wellbeing of our residents.

I visit my friend, and I am so impressed by everything that I see. She is so happy there and so well looked after. The staff are so welcoming. My friend has been in the home for 10 months, and I have seen the difference in her demeanour from when she was in her own home and looking after herself where

My partner has been in Sovereign Lodge for 6 months now. He is blind and paralysed so cannot move at all without help. All his personal care is done by carers, always kindly and with dignity. I visit daily and have myself been treated well. He and his room etc are always clean.

I am blind and paralysed so cannot see or move and rely on staff for personal care, this is always there. Regular tea, soft drinks etc the food is good. I have to use a spoon in my left hand, so need food cut up for me, this is kindly done.

My father was placed in the care of Sovereign Lodge, his care was beyond kindness, compassion and a true home from home. My father sadly passed away on 23 June 2019. I can honestly say I could not have wished for it to be anywhere else. Brilliant staff, wonderful care and all I can say is THANK YOU.

The complete experience of the care centre was fantastic from my mother arriving, to her passing away. The facility, staff and support were excellent in the short time she was there. Even after her death, the staff could not be more helpful and sympathetic.

Although my mother was only at Sovereign Lodge for a short period, I feel she was treated with love and dignity during her stay there. When she eventually passed away the staff and management were sympathetic and caring and were extremely helpful in dealing with the administrative details on my behalf.

The care from the staff at Sovereign Lodge was extremely good. Always greeted us with a smile and were always helpful. Mum was always happy and looked after very well. They encouraged mum to make more friends and had plenty of activities to keep mum occupied and entertained.

My husband has been a resident at Sovereign Lodge for over a year and I get great comfort from knowing he is extremely well cared for by excellent staff who always have time for him and me. He particularly enjoys the variety of great food. The management team are very welcoming and there is always something

My mother was at Sovereign Lodge for six months and we have nothing but praise for all the staff.
Friendly, welcoming, helpful, kind and considerate.
The last week of mum's life was obviously hard for the family but we had lots of care and support from all the staff.
They kept us well informed.

Our day-to-day can be challenging, but it requires commitment, motivation, and skills to make a vision into reality. I am passionate about delivering person-centred care to our residents and maintaining their independence as much as possible. It is a big adjustment for a resident to leave their own house and be in a nursing home, thus we as a team help them feel welcomed and ensure a homely environment.


The best part of my working day is knowing that I have made a difference in someone's life and have helped them through a difficult situation. Knowing that a resident is satisfied with the care we provide is the greatest achievement for me at the end of the day."

I wished to be part of this growing company and be able to contribute my knowledge and skills, at the same time learning and growing with the company.


Before I came to Healthcare Homes I was an
administrator/receptionist for a different provider.
I think a person needs to be knowledgeable or must be willing to learn. You must be people orientated, know how to deal with different kinds of people in a friendly but professional manner. Must be well organised and know how to manage time. Stay calm.


The favourite part of my working day is being able to help out with the team. Completing tasks and being ready to accept more. Meeting new people.


The biggest professional challenge in my current role was moving from a corporate company where I had been for 5 years to a smaller but growing company. Luckily enough, after a few weeks of intensive training, I was able to adapt and settle quickly into my new home. Thanks to the most friendly and accommodating staff/residents and relatives of Sovereign Lodge and those at our operations office Apex.


My biggest career highlight to date? I am quite happy to see the progression of my career over the span of six years.


Qualities that make me stand out are;
A good home manager must have good leadership and at the same time be caring and have a passionate heart. Time management is also very important.


My interests outside of work are spending time with my little boy, playing in the sand or swimming together. I also like watching movies and shopping.

The favourite part of my working day is putting a smile on people’s faces and making a difference. Giving residents something to look forward to.
My biggest professional challenge in my current role is being diverse in the role and giving a wide variety in the activity schedule; keeping it fresh and exciting. I am undertaking a Health Care Practitioner trainee role which I am very excited about and looking forward to the outcome.
